  1. Most welcome, and yes, it is nice :) Chris changed the lyrics to say something about Osaka, but he made a mistake in that bit and I can only guess that he's saying that Osaka's the flower the song's about.
  2. Yes it's a huge song over there. SMAP have been probably the biggest pop and TV stars for the last ten years, so the crowd must have loved it! Here's a version (not by SMAP) with the lyrics translated into English. Chris' version is of course shorter and the lyrics are in a slightly different order, but it's not too hard to work out: http://megavideo.com/?v=R6AW44NT
  3. Great work Chris! :) There must have been encores then - that set's surely too long to be just an hour? The Japanese song is, I think, 'Only One Flower in the World' but I'll have to double check. Sadly it's not original, but a J-Pop cover of a song by SMAP. Here they are performing it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2nFvAq3sp80&feature=related
  4. Many thanks for that :) His Japanese isn't too bad at all - quite surprising when he usually struggles with a simple thank you in Nihingo!!
  5. Tonsu replied to Dejan's topic in Coldplay Live
Yes, I think they've said they made a conscious decision not to play the big festival circuit this tour.
  6. Sorry guys, been absolutely rushed off my feet here all day, and it doesn't look like I'll have a spare fifteen minutes till well after office hours, but I will try then. The BBC switchboard number can be found here (the second one they give is one I've seen elsewhere too): http://mpacuk.org/content/view/4367/60/ Ah, here's another page with the main number for radio as well: http://www.pfc.org.uk/node/72 I have managed to fire off a quick email query, but don't expect to hear about that for days really, if ever, just something I did have time to do. Fingers, arms, legs and toes all crossed that some of us get in :)
  7. Been playing since November, nothing's yet come along to replace it.
  8. No worries :) We may not get to heaven, but I'll give some BBC flunkys a damn good ear-bashing in the process of trying :D Sweet dreams one and all, still hope to see old friends and new from here at the BBC Radio Theatre on the 30th!!
  9. Yep, that's what I just did Mimi. But that's the radio 2 phoneline, and the competition's being run by another part of the BBC. I want either the main switchboard number or another one that will get me an answer. Better luck tomorrow I hope, for all of us :) G'night
  10. I thought that too Kara, but it's actually the/a (?) radio 2 helpline/show access number. Not the people you need to speak to if you want answers, that much is clear!! If someone gives me the main switchboard no I'll phone tomorrow and be most persistent till I get an answer for us all.
  11. Good call RedGirl, I did just that. Unfortunately the Radio 2 helpline staff take their information from the webpage we entered from, so it appears we know as much as they do. If anyone has another useful number for the main BBC please let me know, I will get on to them tomorrow and try to get through to the people who are actually running the comp.
  12. That does seem logical Jenjie, as I wrote before. The issue then becomes did they really start contacting people on Tuesday (in which case the places are surely all already filled), or was that guy lying (and to what end only goodness knows why, it's unfathomable). There are a few more twists and turns left in this, I'm sure. But I'd really like to know how things stand tomorrow, does anyone have a useful phone number for the BBC for this? I've had a good look around their site and can't find one (things seem to have changed there since I last looked, before the first BBC gig).
  13. Unfortunately kimchi's Flying Porcine Taxi Service's number one pig is already fully booked for the olympics. Only number eight is left, and she doesn't fly :( but she does cook a mean bit of food for you en route (sausages a speciality!!) :D
  14. Well it's all very strange, isn't it? So many of us on here went to the last BBC gig, and there were only 4x the number of tickets for that one. I'd expect at least two or three winners on Coldplaying, and if the calls went out two days ago we surely would have had confirmation by now from someone...
  15. I guess that's it then, unless they didn't manage to get hold of some people and will try again before re-allocating them...:\ <edit> on second thoughts they may not have been able to phone everyone today, and will finish the final calls up tomorrow? ???
  16. I'm wondering if a month will ever go by by when I'm not stuck on here all day clicking refresh and waiting for either a phonecall, email or the postman lol...
  17. Hey Kelly, nice to say 'hi' again, and welcome! I've heard very good things about Boston, hope to visit someday :)
  18. Well then Highgate's probably high on your list to play CoL on your mp3 player as you explore and encounter the ghosts!! :)
  19. Have you checked the Coldplay store?
  20. Lovely, thank you! :) Ever been to London btw, black&white?
  21. Much as I love the Beeb, they proved themselves to be completely and utterly inept with the last Coldplay competition, alas. I doubt it'll be the morning, or even anytime tomorrow for many of the winners...:\
  22. Happy to post off one or two pieces from my BBC/Brixton gig (mixed) small collection, or my 'unadulterated' BBC collection (also small - I only got the bits that fell into my bag on each occasion) lol. PM me please, I won't be visiting this thread much.
  23. Not much activity here - I guess we're all realistic about the chances of getting tix for this one :cool:
  24. Well, I couldn't get to Japan in time for this one, but at leasst when I go over there in a month or two it won't be 35 degrees and 100% humidity!! I'm sure there are some who visit here, especially multimedia, but they're probably put off posting by the indecipherable mutterings of some of us native English speakers :D 頑張って!! :)
