  1. People who were there complained about the confetti??!! :shocked2: I must admit, I thought it looked a little bit cheesy at the MTV awards, but it's looked great in all other vids I've seen, is even better live, and is absolutely perfect for the sheer joy of LiJ. Short of having fireworks (which usually don't work well in an indoor arena) it really couldn't get any better imo :)
  2. Interesting question! Don't they mainly go to school in England, atm, and that's perhaps why the main US tour is across the summer (school holidays)? Gwyneth doesn't have a particularly strong accent, so I'm guessing their accent would be quite neutral (perhaps more British than not) at the moment. And if they split their time and education 50/50 in the future it would likely to continue that way. I guess they'll end up eventually with what's known as Mid-Atlantic English.
  3. Maya said that the rules of the competition she entered were also changed mid-contest, I believe. I think her explanation was on a different thread on a similar topic, but here's her own one, it might be mentioned here too: http://www.coldplaying.com/forum/showthread.php?t=47677
  4. I'd also love to hear CoL live - and surely they will play it in London?! I absolutely agree with the many of the points already made, it could be because it's too similar in tone or mood to other songs to include it on this kind of setlist. Personally I think it's too much like Yes in terms of 'energy' and they could only play one or another at a gig, even though they work together brilliantly on the album. I don't think I'd complain about CoL not being played at all, because the only tracks from the current version I'd be prepared to lose for it are SoS, Clocks, Fix You or GPAS (new version) - and they all seem to be as safe as VLV, they will never be dropped!! I could never lose the news one - 42 is astonishing live, SS like being seranaded by angels etc etc etc etc.
  5. <edit> Wow, I'd really love to see the guys in Holland (one of my favourite countries!) Although I really can't afford it, if anyone has a spare standing ticket at a reasonable price at the last minute then please don't be shy - go on and tempt me!! :) (But please only if no-one else needs a ticket, especially local people. I am lucky enough to see Coldplay many times this year, and I mustn't be greedy - I just post on the very smallest of chances :))
  6. Wow!! thank you SO much :) Do they have lyrics for Sleep Chant? (And so much for the reason they don't put lyrics in the CD booklet!!)
  7. Might be attending this one as a guest now - hope to see you all there :)
  8. Am I the only one wondering if it's a bit too 'perfect' that the winner happens to be a really cute girl from an affluent area with a yard big enough to house a sound crew, stage, and hundreds of people...? They would never do something like this in the UK.
  9. You got over an hour and a half, right (and also one more song than their other gigs so far in the US)? If so that's all you're ever going to definitely get from Coldplay, and it has nothing to do with what time they came on. And wash your mouth out please. No problem, thanks for explaining! :) Completely understandable how it happened, but a shame people with weak eyes like me can't even read it - any chance you can edit your post and put in just a few breaks in the text?
  10. Yep I'm worried about him :( I wish somehow all our love could get through to him, that he'd realise that they really ARE the best band in the world, and that he (especially) doesn't need to push himself to the limit so much for each and every single second of the gig, but he's like a man possessed right now!!
  11. concertkid thank you so much for your efforts - you've made an awful lot of people happy sharing this with us!! And thanks to everyone for their reviews and thoughts, so precious to hear, and there was just one really long one that made my eyes water because the poster couldn't hit the return key a few times (is it called 'line-shift' or something in the States?) Ah well - I'm sure it was a good read for those with perfect vision and patience!! :) So great that the set was a song longer, but a shame the crowd was so lame by many accounts :\ 42 and Strawberry not getting the deafening roars they deserve? Who are these people?? They don't know the album yet? That was an excuse a month ago at Brixton, perhaps, but not now!! The set sounds incredible, but I don't like the sound much of the shortened GPASUYF (though I am intrigued by the 'techno-whatnotted' aspect'). Why truncate it, when the extra bits give Chris a bit of time to rest? The guy's going absolutely flat out for an hour and a half, giving his very all, I really think they need to give him a few minutes of rest during the gig. He was even playing the harmonica away from the mic on DWEC when he could have taken a breather - someone needs to tell him to take a break!!! Great to see Politik back as it should be (and have I missed something or was there no SoS?? :D) - and I feel a bit sad for the folks who didn't get acoustic Yellow, but ar well, the electric never disappoints :) And The Hardest Part??? Incredible! I saw them four times on the last tour and never once heard that, was so disappointed (and never heard Twisted Logic or x&y for that matter!) REALLY hope they continue to keep mixing it up (but with the full GPASUPYF - please, and restoring the slow end to Politik and the manic end to Clocks). :)
  12. <edit> My mistake - apologies.

No, but I'm designing shirts with prints based on an idea on the confetti from the concerts...hope they work out nice...:)

Jsalyers it's so very nice to meet you here, welcome aboard!! How was the gig, can you tell us more? (And don't forget, we'd also love to hear anything more about you you don't mind sharing!!) Your new friend, kimchi :)

It's great, feels so 'right' somehow :) It's a shame, though, not to have my confetti on show, but I'm designing some t-shirts (as well as decorating some jackets!!) for December that will sort that problem out!! I have my confetti but I don't really care for physical things. If it would make you happy I'll send you some confetti from Brixton and the BBC (but only two pieces because I only have six or seven, and of course I have no idea which gig they came from now!!) Just ask :) Haha, I know, I'm always too shy too!! I usually think 'why is that girl pestering the band for an autograph so rudely?' and I never can myself. And then she gets the autograph and the photo with Chris and the guys, and I go home with my piece of one or two pieces of confetti..oh well :D

Next time - jump!! :D Lol, just joking, glad you got your confetti :)
  17. Now it's getting interesting (and about time!) My beloved Spurs have reported both Man U and Liverpool to the Premier League for allegedly trying to unsettle Keane and Berba in the very same way that Madrid have been making mischief all summerlong (and United's complaint over that went to Fifa I believe!): http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12876_3835579,00.html I'm getting excited now - it just struck me today that if Ronaldo is worth 80m to Real, then Berba must be worth at least a third to half of that (Ronaldo is NOT worth more than two or three Berbatovs to any team in the world!!) I'm happy to see them both leave. Robbie's been an incredible player for the club, we've been blessed, and if it's his dream to join Liverpool then good luck to him, the fans will cheer him when he returns, no question. Berba's been a pain in the rear, great as he is, and cost our good Martin Jol his job - good riddance I say, as long as the price is right. Spurs have put it our there today that both will leave, but have started to match United and the 'pool at their own games, and it looks like we'll get a fantastic price for each of them. If we lose them both it'll be yet ANOTHER season of 'transition' at the Lane, but then again if either of them stay as sulkers it'll be just as bad. My hopes for this season have dipped, but it's wonderful to see a long-term view taken. Most likely not even the Carling Cup this season (despite what all the bookies are still saying) but I can't wait!! :)

Mine are in my VLV gatefold sleeve. It's the best only place for it, for a couple of really special reasons :) Kara you'd better have that confetti under control by the time we go for sushi!! :laugh3: I adore your sig pic - may I have a copy?
  19. Thanks for that melanieau, but of course she's a sensible lass and naturally she'd make sure all her doctors and consultants were absolutely happy with her condition before she attended. If all goes well I expect them to say 'it's not out of the question but you have to consider the risks of being in that kind of environment' (which is what I'm doing, I think, and what she's not doing, perhaps - yet). Anyway, many thanks to all for your input, it's certainly given me more to think about :) Partly with your help I've come to realise that there's absolutely no point pushing the question for many months yet. I'll just gently let her know once or twice that I'm not looking forward to the responsibility of taking her along in such a precious and delicate condition, but make no decisions, keep hold of the tickets, and hope she gives birth early and is ready for a post-natal rock!! :drummer: Hehe, do newborns get in free to gigs, by any chance?? :D
  20. Hope you're ok David :) Just give me a holler if you need someone to talk to.
  21. Going to need possibly much more time on this Kash, so sell if someone's interested, and I'll sort something else out if I need to swap.
  22. !

Not WINGS, or wings, but Wings!!
  23. Chris has just made an advert for UK TV, and I must say I think he's taking the diet a bit far... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nb3ho0K0GOU
