MX Length
Although it may be a Life In Technicolor situation where there are lyrics for it and it's technically a full song, I have a feeling the version on the album will be a (slightly longer) instrumental lead-in to HLH.

Paradise is amazing
It's funny how negative the majority of the comments seem to be on this board, but then you take a look at the YouTube comments section for the official release. I'd venture to say 95% of the comments are positive.

Lyrics
I think it's "she'd close her eyes" versus "she closed her eyes" (nitpicky, I know), but other than that it looks spot on to me. Edit: "the sun will set to rise" sounds about right as well...you can definitely hear the "s" in "rise" at the end.

SERIOUS OPINIONS
Haha what I meant was be a single before the album. No idea why I put first single.

SERIOUS OPINIONS
Haha I heard that too the first time I listened to it, but if you put on headphones it sounds more like (a very muddled) "away she'd fly." Anyway, serious opinion: it should not be the next single. But to everyone complaining that it's got weak lyrics, remember that it's not technically supposed to be a standalone track. With this being a concept album and all, this is like getting chapter three of a book with virtually no context of how it fits into the larger story (which, again, is why it shouldn't be a single, at least not before the album's release). I'm not saying it's necessarily their best song ever, but give them the benefit of the doubt and see how it plays with the rest of the album before tearing it apart (see what I did there?). And for the record, I really do like it.

Lyrics
When she was just a girl, she expected the world But it flew away from her reach, so she ran away in her sleep And dreamed of para-para-paradise Para-para-paradise Para-para-paradise Every time she closed her eyes When she was just a girl, she expected the world But it flew away from her reach, and the [bullets catch ___ ______ ______?] Life goes on, it gets so heavy The wheel breaks the butterfly Every tear a waterfall In the night, the stormy night, she'd close her eyes In the night, the stormy night, away she'd fly And dream of para-para-paradise Para-para-paradise Para-para-paradise Oooooooooh oooooooooh She'd dream of para-para-paradise Para-para-paradise Para-para-paradise Oooooooooh oooooooooh Lalalalalalalala etc. So lyin' underneath the stormy skies She'd say, "Oooooh I know the sun will set tonight." This could be para-para-paradise Para-para-paradise This could be para-para-paradise Oooooooooh oooooooooh This could be para-para-paradise Para-para-paradise This could be para-para-paradise Oooooooooh oooooooooh This could be para-para-paradise Para-para-paradise This could be para-para-paradise Oooooooooh oooooooooh EDIT: Added in Hartroc's lyrics

Abstaining from new material until album release?
Let's be perfectly honest here: any intention I have of not hearing new material until the release will go completely out the window as soon as I hear that a new live song is up on YouTube.

Lyrics (page 2 onwards)
If you listen to the Sky 1 advert, it sounds alot like "goes," not "gold" (although there's a sword sound effect right over that last part which kinda distorts it). But I'm almost positive you're right about it being "so it's all an innocent riot." The "L" sound in "all" was very prominent in earlier live recordings of the song.

Hurts Like Heaven studio version effects
Am I the only one who got flashbacks to Disneyland's Electrical Parade when the backing vocals came in? [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FMxWHnygWdM]Disneyland music- Main Street Electrical Parade part 1 - YouTube[/ame] (starts about 17 seconds in)

Hurts Like Heaven studio version effects
...you guys do realize these backing tracks were extracted from a live version, right? If you can barely hear them in the live version, there's no reason to think that the studio version will be any different. MM is the only studio track we've heard with prominent vocal effects. MTM? None. ETIAW? Minor. Charlie Brown? None. Calm down.

That's what I hear too.

Coldplay: Greatest downfall in the history of music?
I can understand some people not liking it as a standalone song (although I personally love it), but I think a lot of naysayers will be converted once they hear it in the context of the whole LP. Remember, this is a concept album, so the specific references in the song aren't going to make complete sense until you hear it with the other songs. I mean, we still don't know a whole lot about the album (tracklist anyone?), but it's already becoming much easier to see how the song fits the whole album's theme and story.

Do you think 'Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall' will be on LP5?
Same here. It seems like the perfect opener (with MX as an intro of course). Then again, who knows how it will fit in with the album's story? I mean, I was pretty disappointed when I read that Moving To Mars would probably be axed, but now that I look at it, it makes sense. We know that there are a few variations of the tracklist the guys are considering, and I'm willing to bet on one of them they swapped out ETIAW for MTM. In the Billboard quote I posted earlier, Chris mentioned the album would have a happy ending depending on the sequencing. Again, looking at the album as one story, both ETIAW and MTM seem to refer to the aftermath of a revolt against oppressive forces. ETIAW is the "happy ending," where MTM sounds more like some part of the revolt was successful ("government is overthrown") but that the two characters will ultimately be separated. Just my two cents, and while I love MTM, we already have an official release of it, and personally I'd much rather see the album have a happy ending. Same thing goes for Hurts Like Heaven. I'd love for it to be the opener, but really all I want is for SOME sort of official release of a studio recording. If the story of Mylo Xyloto is better told without HLH, then I'm all for it. But at least give me HLH as a b-side or something! :P

Do you think 'Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall' will be on LP5?
This. I definitely think it will be on the album, and I think it will be the closing song. Here's a snippet from the Billboard article: In that context, combined with other theories I've read about the album dealing with the whole idea of an uprising against an oppressive entity (government or otherwise), ETIAW could almost serve as a sort of victory song. Lyrically, it takes on a whole new meaning if it is referring to success of a fight against oppressive forces, and it seems to me like the perfect end to such a story.

the fannzy man of HLE
Yeah, after Charlie Brown being chosen to be the one of the two songs aired on Jimmy Kimmel in the USA this week (the other being ETIAW), I can't help but think it's going to be the next single, not HLH. It would follow the pattern set by the Violet Hill/Viva La Vida single release order in the VLV era. I do hope we get a fuzzy man cover for HLH if it is indeed going to be a future single (which wouldn't surprise me at all).

"Hurts Like Heaven" Lyrics
Definitely cover, not color. As for "every surface are names," I still think those are the correct lyrics. Check out this video I took of last night's LA performance. The audio quality is, frankly, terrible, but check it out starting around 3:19, and that line should be very, very clear. Still can't tell if the next line is "writing the same" or "writing this sayin' " though. Guy confirms album out end of October (Triple J interview - transcript & MM links in first post)
I love that also listed as one of the 16 is the extremely new song "Life Is For Living." I've heard that song so much it seems like it's been around since the Parachutes days... :P Ah well, at least we got Up In Flames as a potential track.

I THINK LP5 WILL BE CALLED 'MYLO XYLOTO'...
If she didn't respond or she said "no comment," then maybe. But she wouldn't outright lie to us. Same thing with the whole connection to Mylo. As much as some of us might want it to be true, if she says it's false, I'm going to take her word for it.

I THINK LP5 WILL BE CALLED 'MYLO XYLOTO'...
There are several companies like Proxy, Inc that will either host or register a domain name on your behalf. The main benefit is that you aren't required to have personal contact information displayed publicly on database registries like who.is. For Coldplay, they would have the band's official contact information or EMI's. Also, it would be registered in the UK, not La Habra, CA.

I THINK LP5 WILL BE CALLED 'MYLO XYLOTO'...
The webpage is fake, at least to the extent that it's not an official Coldplay site. At best, someone got a hold of some leaked audio and put it up on the webpage. Registration information is here: http://who.godaddy.com/whois.aspx?domain=myloxylobrytes.com&prog_id=GoDaddy No mention of EMI, Coldplay, etc. Trololo...

I THINK LP5 WILL BE CALLED 'MYLO XYLOTO'...
That said, the Oracle recently screwed up with the HLH lyrics (and it took some Coldplayers to correct her), so I wouldn't exactly take everything Oracle/Debs says as 100% accurate.
