wtf!? have you read the thread closely? No one is suggesting any infringement on free will or equal rights at all ( i cant defend the others, they have their own voice, but read my posts carefully, it's clear i'm not doing either of those things), in fact paradoxically if you examine the way the government treats these people you'll find that by throwing benifits at them and shipping them to random parts of the country and then forgetting about them is not the answer either, in fact it's pretty calous and inhumane. THAT'S why there is a problem in England with this.l And free will, equal rights? Wake up, in a perfect world maybe, if there were such things these people would have never left their own countries in the first place...furthermore, yes perhaps we do have these things here, but they have become misconstrued under the guise of state benefits which some (asylum seekers & UK citizens alike), not all mind you, sponge off of, because it is their "free will." So, well it's a viscious cycle, a no win situation I know, both sides are losing out, and it's not going to be solved in a hurry. The Government has to actually start caring about these people and not treating them like sheep. Now if you still disagree then we'll have to agree to disagree.

Some people have took 20 years back
*whew* that articles a whopper, i'll have to read that in stages  but this grabbed my attention: The East of England region (Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Norfolk and Suffolk) contains two of the country’s ‘cluster areas’ – Peterborough and Ipswich. These are areas where asylum seekers are sent under the government’s dispersal programme in order to relieve some of the responsibility of London and the South (for more information on this, see the section Asylum seekers in the UK) see this is what i don't like, when we start seeing terms like "dispersal." I think it's a sad day when governments sit around discussing "dispersing" human beings as if they were bloody royal mail packages or something. Yes, relieve resposibility! Oh the Irony, Europe's been doing that for years!

To save myself rehashing your points, i shall simply say i agree. I talk about this a lot w/ my family whenever we see a new story about it, England has become a soft touch on this, the whipping boys of Europe on this, come on in!, it's England, we're pushovers!! What irritaes me is yes, there is no law(s) about learning English, etc...so then they largly make no effort to either...it's sad really, and is becoming a growing problem that the Gov. will eventually have no option but to address..it's not turning Eng. into a melting pot, quite the opposite, it's becoming more and more segregated because those coming in live the same way they did in their own country, (language, way of life etc) which to a certain extent is understandable, but it also means no one comes together, all it means is they come for state benefits. It is reallly disturbing and something that i've started to see on a day to day basis. Don't get me wrong i'm no Nationalist let's send them back kinda guy, i'm of 2 nationalities myself (UK/US) but, i do think that the longer this policy of open doors goes on the more it stirs English people's frustration of seeing the social ramifications thereof--i mean you ever met an asylum seeker? Talked to one, i'd love to, to share their world, get a glimpse of their perspective, day to day issues. Thing is I am not in contact w/ anyone like this whether it be in the work environment or the educational one. Am I an exception then? Well i can't say, but i think therein lies the problem, this lack of social interaction--it's not good for the national identity or the future health of the state. :)

Fate
well, every philosophical and emotional preconcieved human objective liike, fate, religion, love, hate, psychology, etc.. ; they're all based on ideas, principles, values--they too all exist as ideas, and manifest themselves when certain actions and events are put in our path, or when we put them there, or allow them to be put there. Fate can be what we want to happen, yes, you only get what you make in this life, no one's gonna hand you anything you really want, we make our own luck and thus to a certain extent our fate--however i also sometimes "believe" there are larger forces (not religious ones) that have predetermined certain actions and events in the world, and our day to day lives, call it synchronicity call it the dark wizards who tell me to eat cherrios and watch the smurfs every day..but there's something..the something that makes those songs, films, people pop into my head and then hear/see them, there's something that gives me tremendous de ja vu at least once a week, there's something that gives me the reccuring dreams and the idea that no matter what i do it's all been done before, by me! So is all this fate? But what about the starving millions, the sick, the needy, the wars, is that "meant" for them, is that their destiny?, a hard pill to swallow sometimes, makes believing in fate tricky i think..bah who knows? :)
