KCRW is an NPR affiliate that broadcasts from Santa Monica Community College that tends to play more unknown and up-and-coming artists. I listen to it sometimes. I think in the early days, Coldplay made the rounds of college radio stations. It doesn't have near the following that KROQ does in the LA area, so Coldplay's exposure skyrocketed once Kevin and Bean got ahold of them.

Yes, that's kind of how they roll. They've been on the air since 1990 and have a big following here. But they've been huge huge supporters of Coldplay since the beginning and really gave them a lot of exposure in the Los Angeles area in the early years, so the band feel they "owe" a lot to K&B and KROQ, if that makes sense. I don't know what you could see during the breaks, but K&B spent a bit of time talking to Chris, and he never looked unhappy or uncomfortable with them. I think Chris knows that's just how they are.

This. Kevin and Bean obviously didn't do much research. I was annoyed because we were asked to write down questions for the band and they would choose some for fans to ask. They asked the band my question :( I asked them about it, and they said it was a good question :( But it was still amazing.

I love it...just posted in another thread that I can't wait to see it live. Oh, to see Will just banging the shit out of his drums...oh my gosh, I need to stop. LOL

I love it, and can't wait to see it live. It will be amazing, and oh, that Will...I love watching him work hard during songs like this - kinda like in Politik, where he just bangs the shit out of his drums.

Bert says that he said that "Gwyneth tweeted that the new album is a masterpiece, but she sort of has to say that, right?" Heavy sigh from Chris, then he hung up. Guess that was enough for Chris...Now that the album is out, hopefully, the interviews will slow down and they can focus on playing.

Is anyone listening to them RIGHT NOW live (8pm-ish) in London via the kroq.com feed? They are being interviewed at the XFM studios (I think), by Stryker, a dj with KROQ, and playing acoustic songs (so far Fix You and now IMP). Nope, says I have no available downloads :( I emailed them. $99 and I can't even get the dumb link. So frustrated...

Mine says "Charged Preorder," too. And we paid with paypal, which went though immediately last month. But their website says the mp3 will be available today! It's frustrating...I'm not going to go out and buy the cd. We get it with the pop-up. And I already bought Paradise from itunes, and the ETIAW single special edition. I suppose I've waited this long a few more hours isn't going to kill me.

Nope, the pre-order website says: MP3 version of the album delivered on 24th October 2011. Exclusively available from Coldplay.com It's even at Target today. Sigh. I emailed the Coldplay store and am waiting for a reply. I even checked the "available downloads" for my account and it says I have none available. $99, and I can't even get the dumb download :veryangry2:

Chris swapped out his yellow watch for a black one. :( I have a mac and was able to watch it, but there is a note on the video that says: Streaming video requires Safari 4 or 5 on Mac OS X Snow Leopard or Lion, Safari on iOS 3 or later, or QuickTime 7 on Windows. Nice performance from Coldplay :)
