  1. I'm pretty sure he uses a Nikon D40. It's what I use and I've asked him before
  2. I don't believe there is any way they can do the Olympics. They are performing in Montreal on July 26. Opening Day of the Olympics is July 27. They have 4 US shows scheduled during the Olympic dates.
  3. I tried for those and couldn't get anything closer than towards the back of the arena, which is why I grabbed the floor seats. I may stub hub them if something better comes up during the general sale...
  4. I bought tickets this morning using the AMEX preferred number for Tampa and San Jose. I ended up with 2 floor seats for both, Row 25 in Tampa, and Row 37 in San Jose, both in Sec 3, which is Jonny's side. I just went to stub hub and checked availability for both cities. There is NOTHING available closer than Row 12 in either city, and there is only one listing for that. A few in Row 15-19, but almost all of the tickets available are from row 20 back for both cities. This shows me that anything closer than row 12 was not released. Now, I haven't checked other cities, just those 2, but in general, there are ALWAYS tickets available in all sections on stub hub. Also I'm wondering about the X stage - I didn't look *that* closely, but based on the seating charts on the venue sites, it doesn't look like they've made allowances for the X stage. I really wish they had done GA :\
  5. It is Saturday... Was a crazy morning because I got tickets for Tampa too. For San Jose, sec 3,row 38. For Tampa, sec 3, row 27. And now I'm at the Ellen show for day 9 of her 12 days of giveaways :) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. Ticketmaster totally sucks, but I did get floor seats - kinda far back, but I'll try again at general sale on Friday...
  7. Forgot about HDC. I saw Coldplay there too but I still don't think of it really being a concert venue because it is mostly used as the home field for Galaxy and Chivas. I think it holds about 25,000. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Wow, that slideshow feature is very cool. Thanks for doing that!
  9. For the San Jose show: US $46.50 - US $107.00 US $46.50 Ticket + US $12.75 Fees = US $59.25 US $107.00 Ticket + US $17.00 Fees = US $124.00 Ticketmaster fees are ridiculous. In addition to the fees above, there is a charge for shipping or even if you print them out yourself. Add in another "order processing fee" and the price just keeps going up :(
  10. Touche...but ask my kids, my hearing is just fine, because I can hear every single word they say under their breath when I tell them to do their chores ;)
  11. I actually haven't found Coldplay to be too loud. I've been going to concerts for over 30 years and I think the volume has come way down from concerts years ago. i think it's because of better sound systems - back then, the louder the better :o I used to come out of shows with my ears ringing for a day or so. Now, I'm fine right after a show...although i will admit, I used earplugs when I saw AC/DC 3 years ago. :laugh3: But Coldplay? No, and I've been in front, and the middle of venues.
  12. Maybe because they only asked the first 15 people in line to help with the wristbands. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. You know, Hollywood Bowl and Staples Center both have a seating capacity of 18-19,000? Honda Center is also at 18-19,000. Verizon Wireless in Irvine is 16,000. Unless you go to a stadium, Dodger, Angel, Rose Bowl or Coliseum, that's as big as you get in the LA area.
  14. Congratulations on your baby! I'm sorry you won't be able to go :( And I am so with you on the UCLA show, but I got really lucky and was able to let that one go after seeing them a few times since then to erase that memory. We will take pictures! And make all Coldplayers proud :)
  15. Guess I'll have 2 computers going, and my husband at work on his...it's not even up on Ticketmaster yet or on the Hollywood Bowl calendar. But yeah, Tues/Wed shows in LA? Bleh...But I will be there, one way or another ;)
  16. This schedule definitely rules out any Olympic performance speculation. Olympics open July 27 and close Aug 12. They have a show July 26 in Montreal, and 4 more US shows during the Olympics.
  17. Don't you mean "Your long-time fan?" because you are not old. ;) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. When I saw the first show of the Viva tour in July 2008, they played 20 songs. The last Viva show I saw in July 2009, they played 24 songs ( counting LIT, and PFFA, but not counting the Escapist). The last "full" show I saw at the Austin festival this year, they played 18 songs. And tonight, they played what? 20 songs, according to latest reports. It would be nice if they played 24 songs for this tour...There is definitely room for some setlist "tweaking" in upcoming shows.
  19. And look where that's gotten him. :laugh3: Will recently said that he and Guy like to shop.
  20. Hoppy is Chris's guitar tech. We had the chance to talk to him after a show. My husband is fascinated by Chris's piano, so he asked Hoppy a lot of questions about the piano.
  21. I do know, from talking to Hoppy, that Chris's piano is wired to play different sounds, so he is actually playing those parts. When I saw them at KROQ, in that tiny studio, we could hear the instruments even without amplification, and they were definitely playing. Their keyboards, like when Jonny or Guy play, are wired to produce sounds other than a typical piano/organ sound, though.
  22. The public doesn't vote for the Grammy's. It's an industry award. from Wiki: Nomination process Record companies and individuals may submit recordings to be nominated. Nominations are made online and a physical copy of the work is sent to the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences. Once a work is entered, reviewing sessions are held, by more than 150 experts from the recording industry, to determine whether the work is eligible and entered in the correct category for official nomination. The resulting list is circulated to all NARAS members, each of whom may vote to nominate in the general field (Record of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best New Artist) and in no more than nine out of 30 other fields on their ballots. The five recordings that earn the most votes in each category become the nominees. There may be more than five nominees if there is a tie in the nomination process. Whereas members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences are generally invited to screenings or are sent DVDs of movies nominated for Oscars, NARAS members do not receive nominated recordings. After nominees have been determined, final voting ballots are sent to Recording Academy members, who may then vote in the general fields and in no more than eight of the 30 fields. NARAS members are encouraged, but not required, to vote only in their fields of expertise. Ballots are tabulated secretly by the major independent accounting firm Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu.[9] Following the tabulation of votes the winners are announced at the Grammy Awards. The recording with the most votes in a category wins and it is possible to have a tie. Winners are presented with the Grammy Award and those who do not win are given a medal for their nomination. In both voting rounds, Academy members are required to vote based upon quality alone, and not to be influenced by sales, chart performance, personal friendships, regional preferences or company loyalty. The acceptance of gifts is prohibited. Members are urged to vote in a manner that preserves the integrity of the academy. The eligibility period for the 2012 Grammy Awards is September 1, 2010 to September 30, 2011 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grammy_Award
  23. No, you're right. The eligibility dates for 2012 Grammys are October 1, 2010 - September 30, 2011. It was another category that had the Sept 1 deadline.
  24. The deadline was either August 31, 2011 or September 1, 2011, for submission for Grammy consideration. Mylo Xyloto was too late for 2012 Grammy consideration.
