  1. Well, that's understandable. Us moms are kind of funny that way. :nice: But look at it this way...when your mom meets all the Coldplayers on the boat and realizes how awesome they are, they won't be strangers anymore and that opens up some doors for you when Coldplay tours again :)
  2. Everyone should show up in purple Will-scarves :laugh3:
  3. Yay! I'm sorry I can't come with you :( It kills me to say that.:cry::cry: But you're going to have an amazing time with everyone on the boat. Just keep my California Coldplay Road Trip in mind :)
  4. Oh well...they just added Black Eyed Peas, Train and Enrique Iglesias w/ Pitbull (who?). The Hollywood types will be there, should make for good people watching. I'm just not getting the karma that everyone else is :(
  5. Marie - you are so sweet... I wish I could go so badly...
  6. Is he wearing a pocket watch on a chain? Holy crap - he is just so freaking fine. He was wearing a coat in another one of their pictures. sigh. Still so envious of you, Carrie :) But I'll have to be ok with the fact that I will be here that night for my husband's company Christmas party http://www.stregismb.com/index.aspx
  7. Congratulations everyone! California is just too darn far away, not to mention it's a holiday and my husband and kids would probably disown me if I missed Thanksgiving with them and my mother in law in Las Vegas... Take lots of pictures and tweet if possible!
  8. Ha ha, I just did the same thing...google translate is a bit "off," but we can get the general idea. My college French is a bit rusty after all these years! So many lucky Coldplayers - especially YOU, Carrie...
  9. Oh my God, Carrie! I'm so freaking happy for you! Try to control yourself in his presence, ok? You'll be able to give him a big old teddy bear hug in person!!! :bomb::bomb::bomb::heart::heart::heart::dance:  :drummer:
  10. Ok, can I hate you now? :laugh3: Congratulations!!! And say hi to Will for me, pretty please.
  11. Oh, that's right...don't they usually spend it with Gwyneth's mom? All the better for an appearance at the AMA's ;)
  12. Ohhh...Maybe they'll be coming back from Los Angeles and the American Music Awards? I wish...:laugh3:
  13. Why do I have to live so far away in California? Still waiting for a last minute announcement that they will be at the American Music Awards on Sunday - that's about the only thing that would make me feel better! Good luck to everyone who is trying to be one of the 50...
  14. Check Fox's website, or http://www.hulu.com. They may have the full episode.
  15. Having two sons in high school, who sing and act, Glee is HUGE in our house. Doesn't hurt, either, that Matthew Morrison is from our area.
  16. Funny too, how I've seen several of the performers in concert (or in the case of Usher - I saw him at the taping of American Idol in April)...Bon Jovi, Usher, Miley and Taylor (remember I have an 11 year old daughter :laugh3: ). Still crossing my fingers...and what am I going to wear??? That's the important question!
  17. A US ebay listing... for almost $3000. http://cgi.ebay.com/Coldplay-Tickets-Hidden-Venue-Liverpool-England-12-19-/280587010111?pt=US_Tickets_all_in_one&hash=item41544a003f#ht_923wt_1141

  19. Wow! That's great. I feel very lucky to have seem M&S and to have had the sense to buy tix as soon as they went on sale. There's a funny story. We were in Vancouver, BC, the day they went on sale, so I called my friend here in Southern California to hurry and go online to buy my tickets. She did. The best part? The tix were only $25 each! That was in August, before they started getting a lot of airplay here. By the day of the concert, they were way more popular, and I saw that people were paying more than $200 for the tickets :)
  20. Ohhhh...Mumford & Sons <3 I saw them a few weeks ago. Absolutely fabulous show. And such freaking nice, humble guys who were having a blast on stage in Hollywood :) I'm so glad I was able to get tickets and see them. And I have Will to thank for it, too...LOL...way back when Coldplay got back from the Latin America tour, someone asked Oracle if she'd heard of Mumford & Sons. She said she had and that Will had gone to see them in London the day after they flew back from Mexico. That got my interest, so I looked into Mumford and Sons, fell hard for their music, and just love them now.
  21. I understand what you are saying, but when you said that Coldplay now has been around as long as the Beatles were, and have only made 4 albums, remember that the Beatles rarely toured. Coldplay has spent years on the road over the last 10 years. Not saying that's bad, but the Beatles music was so innovative for their time, that a lot of their sound simply could not be recreated on stage - back in the 60s, the technology just wasn't there to translate a studio sound to a live stage. So they had way more time to write and record. The Beatles released their first album in 1963 - 47 years ago! Just because the Beatles did something "first" shouldn't discount the abilities of those who have followed. Yes, they were great, they opened the doors (and minds) for countless musicians and fans, no one in the world will dispute that. But to me, it's almost like saying, for example, that the Model A (the first car ever sold in the US) was a great car that no other car will be able to match simply because it was the first. How can you compare a Model A with a luxury car of today? Also, U2 has been around for over 30 years. I saw them way back in 1982, when they were the opening band for The J Geils Band. Hopefully, Coldplay will have the staying power that U2 has had, but we've all read/heard the interviews where Chris says they won't record past their 30s or so? U2 has been working on their fan base for years, and they are still being "discovered" by the later generations. Going to a U2 concert is like going to any concert of a band that has been together for that many years, you have the "mature" audience who have been fans since the 80s and the teens and college-agers who are discovering their genius now. The wider audience leads to more ticket sales which is why I think the 360 Tour had such incredible ticket sales (and tix prices were so high). Ten years is a long time these days for a band to be around - so many one-or-two-hit wonders...but look at the greats, the ones who are still recording and touring...Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty, Bon Jovi, AC/DC, and of course U2. Coldplay is still "young" compared to them and still has plenty of time to continue to grow and evolve and experiment. I've loved to see their progression. And really, no one knows what they are capable of, I still think they haven't reached their full potential and great things are still to come.
  22. Oh, no doubt they will go instantly. I just hope the servers can handle the number of requests.
  23. People, there are FOUR ways to get tickets to the concerts. Coldplay.com says there are approximately 1000 tickets available for each venue. General Sales: 1. An allotment will be available to those who live anywhere in the world and know the password of CP4CRISIS, 2. The remainder of the general sales tickets will be available to those with the postcodes specified for Liverpool and Newcastle. I would estimate there will be about 800 total general sales tickets for each show, some for coldplay.com fans and some for "locals." Auctions: Nov 12-19 3. 200 tickets will be available by auction to anyone in the world 4. 30 Meet and Greet tickets will be available by auction to anyone in the world.
