  1. McCain and Palin... Who needs Halloween with candidates like this running for president of that fabled and mythical kingdom we all love and know as America? Do either of them have anything positive to say about anything or are they just so bitter and unhappy that all they can do is, do everyone in the world a dis-service by spreading lies and slander about Obama? Hell hath no fury like empty, frightened, rich people. Republicans are so primitive, they put the "me in greed". It's really quite a story and it started with Karl Rove and the practice he got in pure hell Nazi-style propaganda when he ran Bush for Texas Governor. When push came to shove against incumbent Ann Edwards, they started floating rumours and stories that she was surrounded by gays in the bureaucracy (women in particular, Anne Edwards was then single or widowed?). The gist being, by making people believe something that was completely a lie, George Bush won his first term as Texas Governor, and the world has been living with the consequences of that Nazi-style slur, which got them to power, ever since. When idiots run the wolrd.... Gorge Bush is the moron president who was run by people who were so bloated in their self importance that they mistook their own ignorance for wisdom. Iraq? How do you create "democracy" in a world where the dominant "religion" precludes the existence of another form of power, religious or secular, greater than itself? Democratize? Who? And then blend this ideology with guns, power over women and drug money, and you only have a very small part of the picture of what this culture is all about. But then maybe they just did go for the oil? Who knows, George Bush smiles all the while he is lying. Can you imagine Sarah Palin as President? The tone of her voice is bad enough. She is, so very very petulant, she should be named Sarah Petulance. Gotta go, life is scary, but don't worry... it gets much worse. Music is the temple of my soul
  2. Stop the movie, I want to get off So I look out on the world now and have to wonder, is anyone on first? You know the old Abbot and Costello baseball routine, where one guy says "Hoo's on second" and the other guy hears, "who is on second?". Take for example this recent miscalculation called the "Global Financial Disaster Part Whatever". The mini caption / headline (Globe and Mail) over Allan Greenspan's image says "I still do not fully understand how this could happen". Well that's just swell Mr Greenspan, everything is magically all as it was just the day before everything started to unwind. I think Mr Greenspan had a few too many scotches with his cigars he always smoked, which in turn killed off so many brain cells that he was in fact reduced to the intelligence level of a complete moron. How else do you explain the completely idiotic and presumptuous belief that if one just leaves the banks completely unfettered, their survival instinct will prevent them from acting in too risky a manner. Wrong. Take for example the derivatives market (CBC/The National/24/10/08). It started out under Greenspan as a vehicle for (i guess) money with nothing better to do than to BET on the rise and fall in prices on anything pretty well. Only somewhere along the line the actual paper value of the market became 580 trillion dollars. Turns out that not only did this gigantic paper house of wealth not only dwarf the total value of the real world economy, it also far exceeded the total value of all the currencies in the world, or something very close to that. One day the sun rises in the east and the next day in the west? I am reminded of the times that I have witnessed accidents, or been in an earthquake, the shock of the fracture in reality. The level of fraud and malfeasance on the part of companies like Standard and Poors is truly *American. It turns out that many of the people who officially graded debt for the investment market (an oxymoron) also swapped emails made public by Congress which said "I hope we are all rich and gone by the time this house of cards tumbles down". Are we all having a collective bad dream here or have a bunch of arrogant idiots just about crashed the entire world economy, with who knows what to come? And it scares the shit out of me because many "politicians", the people "in charge" of this sinking ship, are just as messed up as your average human being, maybe drink too much at the wrong time, and really don't have a clue about how to just go about "putting all the kings men back together again", deary. This recent economic disaster is really nothing more than a real world metaphor for the aimlessness and emptiness of mankind. Notice I did not say spiritual emptiness? Hey, if you feel empty, that is spiritual enough . Maybe it is only in human form that a spirit can feel empty. Maybe too feel completely empty is too be so close to God that you don't even know it! There is only one law in this world and that is: Don't vote Republican. I gotta go. *I am just as happy as the next person we are not all Goose Stepping, Dancing the Goebbels Fox Trott, and eating Swastika Sandwiches for lunch. Thank you dearly America for your blood. Let's just get on with making the world a really great place for everyone.

hI, i AM HOPELESSLY ADDICTED TO THIS MUSIC.
  4. My Time With Coldplay I know you are supposed to do this at the " the concert thread" but hey, I have a thread here that will do just fine, inside a perfectly straight line (copcp). Can we be frank here? Everything I say here is what i feel in my heart. (that line played on headphones a split second after I typed out the first part, and that is serendipity). I had the opportunity to see Coldplay this year at Pemberton BC Canada, which is located north of Vancouver, up in the Coastal Mountain range. It is a glacial plain up in the mountains. That was the backdrop, behind your shoulder looking up the valley to the north and the twilight all around. They came on around nine thirty and all hell broke loose. Chris God and the Three Angels were very up to it that night. I was about fifty feet dead centre stage on the ground in front and you could almost reach out and touch them, much like they reach out and touch the hearts of every single soul in a stadium filled with hundreds of thousands of people, to refine your craft to the point where you have the power to reach out like they do is what I call art made in heaven, it could only be, art made in heaven. The jumbo screen gave a perfect shot of His Majesty, The Lord of Chris. Chris Martin's face is that of a man possessed. Possessed of such intense creativity and passion he is clearly completely lost in what he does, completely lost in the intensity of his own being. Together they produce (which are for me some of the most powerful and beautiful songs / ballads ever put down. You want to "feel it", well, feel this, feel Coldplay. Feel like you will never feel before. And really, without Guy, Jonny and Will, there is no Coldplay, so I just hyperbolize a bit there with His Tooneyness, the keyboard player. I am a musician myself and I have on occasion (on purpose / with headphones) followed the guitar line or base or drums and they are all exceptional musicians. Including the singer. Seriously, a concert is a communion of souls, that is my take on a concert. At least it should be. And there are so many different kinds of music in the world, but what kind gives maximum emotional impact with the possibility of a live show? Pop music of course. Through time many people with a little talent, really worked at it, and the result is history. From Motzart to Lennon to Coldplay, it's all the same song, just a different singer and the tune keeps on changing but forever remaining the same. We are all one in the heart. I get such a lift of inspiration from these guys that I cannot really put into words how much they have inspired me. I get so lost in their music, I am consumed by the beauty and emotion of it. Their music is nothing less than perfect beauty. These times we live in have to be some of the most kreepy times this world will ever see. We will be lucky if any of us or your children survive long enough in a world which is pretty close to the edge of catastrophic systems shutdown. You do not want to experience that, believe me, that will be scary if that happens. Forget about the environmental meltdown factor, they are already rioting in China over "lost jobs". You want a roller coaster ride, you want to see a story unfold on this planet now which not even Shakespeare could have dreamt up? It will happen, the future will unfold just like yesterday is gone. If ever this planet needed divine intervention, right about now would be good. The purpose of art is to touch your heart. No heart, no art. It's like how do you know for sure when you burn your hand, it hurts like shit. Same thing here with Coldplay, these four have the power to touch a heart and countless millions around the world, and that is really cool. Being in "the groove" of Coldplay is to be in a place of restful emotive beauty. And on occasion, a place of cryingful emotive beauty?. I listen to them on headphones when I make dinner and can't ever remember making the dinner. I think when I get some more cash I'm going to try the google ticket add for Coldplay tickets. That would be cool, travel to London and see Coldplay. It's as though I was reading a story so bizarre and unbelievable, which I awoke to one day, many years ago and have been living the part ever since, but I forget from where is my beginning. In darkness there is light, and in the light is Coldplay. In the light are Coldplay. So that is some of how I feel about this group. In this world so dark now, we are so lucky to have this music we are so blessed to see them live. That is the jewel of creation, to see the best live. This cosmos has many strange and wonderful things within it and Coldplay are one of them. LOST IN THE FEELING FOREVER AND FOREVER LOST IN A FEELING THAT IS MY FATE TO BE LOST FOREVER TO BE LOST IN A FEELING
  5. I have to admit, I listen to so much Coldplay music that I now think in Coldplay. And I was explaining to my partner today that what they have mastered is the art of self expression. The self of beauty, wonder and hope is present in every note they play. Their music has really helped me to deal with my mothers death. They push my emotional buttons like no other artist, which I know is why they are so huge. The Beatles had the same power. I saw Cherly Crow recently and she has the power. We all have the power inside us. The power is what created this cosmos and gave itself life in human form. At least that is what I believe. And that is not pot speaking either. That is a conclusion I have come to based on my experience / feel in my heart. Maybe I have spent to many hours plugged into my Korg Triton / Vox Tonelab with headphones on lost inside, and my brain has turned into sine wave heavan. I am reading a book entilted "this is your brain on music" and it turns out that when you are listening to music that you really love, your entire brain goes into synaptic overdirive. It turns out that our brains just can't get enough of the experience we call music. And it's been happening since before the first sunrise on this world and way pre dates the invention of money. Music is the language of God. Literally. I mean have you ever had a close look at a fractal? Infinite variations on the same thing, and each fractal is infinitly different from every other fractal? Whether one looks inside physical reality, like they are with the giant gizmotron in Switzerland now or out into the universe, they can find no end, because reality has no end and is always in a state of beginning. What they know is that reality is made up of energy vibrating at different frequencies. Sounds like music to me? With this collider they have built (Switzerland) they will be able to (theoretically) go back to within 10 to the minus whatever seconds into the creation of the universe. If we ever get a grasp of the physics involved in how those energies behave on this plane of reality then you can expect pigs to fly the day after that. The world of man is just so crazy upside down now it is scary. Do most people live to eat or do most people eat to live (in the west / in the third world that would be an insulting question). And those quirky pranksters on wall street have all been bankrolled with fresh monopoly money from the public. What a joke. The best news I've heard yet is that Ecuador has granted human constitutional righs to the envirnment so that if you want to take a corporation to court for poluting a river say, you don't have to prove they damged your propoerty by the river etc. All you have to do is go to the law and say they a poluting the river. Why is this most lucid and beautiful concept not enshrined in every western democracy's natioanal constitution? That is a good question becsause this is the ultimate no brainer. What is the value of the environment? What is the value of one grain of sand? What is the value of one tear drop? What is the value of your life, of my life, of every life of every being that has ever exsisted in this world and every other world in this cosmos and beyond for evermore? There are those who say not a lot. which is the world today, sadly. The world of "man" just seems so primitive to me, and I am no saint either, but at least I don't go around hurting others and this world. I guess the future will be what it is going to be and we will all see how close we have come to the edge of complete castastrophe in the natural world. Good luck egh. We are all on the "Ship of Fools", and we don't even know. We are all, lost in Nirvana, looking for a miracle In the meantime, I will listen to Coldplay
  6. This is what happened! I recently heard Peter Mansbridge (CBC tv evening news anchor) interviewing the dean of the Rotman school of business at the University of Toronto. This school is one of the most "respected" in the world. Mansbridge asked him for a simple explanation of the Wall Street Scam and he said this; they came in, robbed the bank, and on the way out the bank manger stopped them and said "you can keep the money, just don't do this agian." Those crazy republicans egh? The other day, George Bush said, "if I could just snap my fingers and 'make it right', I would." Good news egh, everybody now, all together, one, two three, snap those fingers. What a freak show egh? You and I "work" for our money and some people "rob banks", legally, with the approval and support of the US treasury. What a joke. What a nightmare. It would be funny if the fucking end of life as we know it did not also hang in the balance here. We should have been planning for environmental issues 30 years ago. Instead, we are now about to come about full face into the day of our own making/reckoning and what common survival plan does world humanity have? Compete with one another? The sooner everything crashes the better. Only then will people start to value what is real and throw away all that is ruining this world. Can you spare some credit buddy? Rob in the Fog In Vancouver / taser capital of canada
  7. You don't have to put on faces when you die I went to my mothers furneral yesterday and came up with that line on the ferry back from Vancouver Island today. I won't get into any details but it was more than sad. Life is too short to go around being anything other who you are. I remember once watching this show on some Renoir peice and the subject was, the faces in the crowd, every expression imaginable. He captured a lot of emotion. Compare that to the crowd you see on the street today. Any emotion anyone? So many people have this paralytical look of chronic emptiness syndrome (that's what I call it) all over them, yet they try to come off as "cool" or "happy". All the unhappiness money can buy. Anyway, I was with my mother when she died so that was beautiful. The moment she died, I kid you not, the song "Speed of Sound " came on. I thought that was kinda nice. I am running on empty now and am bigining to bore myself. One thing I really am dying to know: Does Chris Martin smoke pot? I don't think so. You cannot reach that degree of musical perfection and be stoned, I think. Not? Rob
  8. What are they doing? Do you ever get the feeling that the world financial system is about as sound as a leaky row-boat? And being manned by a crew of green Troglodites? It's like this: me and nine friends decide to be banks and all our friends are going to be the public. We hand out monopoly money amongst ourselves and all agree to a common fixed value for it. Then we lend out this "credit" with you the public making regualr payments in "cash". I guess it all works as long as the ability to pay is equal to or greater than the interest owed... on the credit bubble . Credit anyone? Monopoly anyone? I know it's not really how the world economy works, but they may as well give my plan a shot as the current mess is really a very silly joke. What a stupid way to run an economy. Banks don't "feel" like lending to each other because they may just kiss their cash goodbye if they lend it out? Economic terroroism you say? Not possible? Just watch the mess unwind from this latest case of "let the free market crash off another mountain cliff and take the entire world with it". Another gold star for humankind, completely avoidable suffering on a world scale... again. Is there hope for the human race? Seriously, do we deserve this world, do we really deserve this world? Look what we do to it and each other, look at the past hundred years, what on earth is it all about? WW1,WW2, Korea, Vietnam, Cambodia, the 2 Gulf Wars, and countless thousands of regional conflicts. For what, securitiy? I am sorry, security is an internal state of being, not the result of conflict. More like for greed and power. Welcome to hell ladies and gentlemen, welcome to hell. Hell on earth, the ultimate paradox, the divine paradox. A carnival of idiots? That just about describes the competancy level of the people running things you might say. I am grateful for the fact that I am a musician and have a way to escape and express myself and experience satisfaction from something that has it's source,,, inside of me? Where materiality ends is where satisfaction and harmony begins. How can I accept someone else if I am at war with myself? How can you trust others if you do not trust yourself? If you look at it from that perspective, it does seem a little bit of a hopeless situation, how will the world learn kindness? A hokey concept you might say? What is the alternative, perpetual hell on earth, at least in the world of man? There are so many miserable peole out there, alienated from themselves and one another. and now the once firm ground beneath them is beginning to tremble. Maybe the God of this universe is about to give us the big shakedown. You walk all over my creation and trash it just so you can be wealthy and have power, well walk on this humanity. There are already food crop failures happening throughout the world because of too much rain water on the crops. Maybe it's nothing or maybe it's just the start. I just get spooked by the awareness level or lack of it from so called leaders. Look where "they" just "led" the world? Can I be a leader too Santa? Good luck egh? And yes I have been to the Church. I believe that Chris Martin did create this universe, before he started to learn music. Rob ps: is Chris Martin really the present day incarnation of Motzart and Shakespeare? Or is he just a regular person like you or me? Together these guys really are something else, no one part is greater than the other, it just looks that way sometimes. when angels walk with men will time begin again and all things shall come to pass which bring good things to be.
  9. in Common What we have in comon is everything, at least from my perspecitve. We all love, we all cry and we all poop. As if God wants to remind us that it was He who created us and not us who created him. ...unless you live on earth where mankind has created many religions and each one has it's own god. But yes, you are also completely right, music has a tremendous power to bind and bond people becuse it goes straight to the heart of the matter so to speak.
  10. On a Clear Day... You really can see for ever. At least that's what I experience when I look out at this world. This world really is the jewlel of creation, it's God's own fractal if you will. People who cannot see the beauty and wonder that exsist in themselves, and in this infinte world are doomed to suffer. Einstien once said that if you take the inverse square of a pumkin, multiply that by three dead nuns, and cross reference that data with the inverse co-efiicient for the touch particle, you will know God. (said not) Einstien said: A human has only one paramount question to answer in his life above all others and that is; "do I live in a loving universe or do I live in a threatening universe?" So much of the world today is in the latter category, and they feel their survival is threatened by others. Just who are those billions of "others"? (And this is my own experince.) Tell me who or what is looking out of my eyes at you and who or what is looking out of your eyes at me? Who or what put the image of a human face, not a dog or a cat, but a human face, on a rock we call the moon, floating up in the nightsky like best magic there ever was? And who or what is it looking out of the eyes of a cat looking at the moon? Who or what can create the perfect illusion of something which is infinte and imbue that three dimensional creation with all aspects of the infinte? To me God is in everyone and thing. So if I understand that God to be the God of love then I'm not feeling threatened all the time. Sound a little too pot and sixties for you? Go ckeck out a website called david wolfram.com. this guy has discovered the code of creation. Like research into fractal exsistence andl geometry led to amazing product applications this guy has discovered that a few very simple combinations of simple systems has led to creatiion as we know it. I guess if fractals were dubbed"the thumbprint of God", then what Wolfram has discovered may be the "breath of My point is that we are all the same and to live anything less is to be sleepwalking through life. And when you are sleep walking through life you are sure to make a few mistakes. Why is decades of murder blood and war something that we, as part of Gods creation must live through? Why, maybe because this world is one of countless billions where creatures like us learn ro crawl from the shores of hell to the land of tomorrow. What and where is the land of tomorrow? We learn to love instead of hate. It's like spiritual kindergarten. It is in the smile of a young child. It is in the melting of a snowflke It is the face behind all faces It is what you have always wanted and more It is a world where people love and care for one another just becuase that's what you do. Like water flows downstrem. But I think we have a way to go yet. In the meantime we can always get high on great music. Music is a good way to rise above the scary vibe this world of man is generating right now. I guess it will all work out in the end but what a ride it's goiung to be. Look at the madness now in the world economy. The horsemen of choas have arrived. In the end we are brought to our knees to understand. Until then we are asleep in a dream on a river called life. Some people dream they could live their lives over because they have caused so much suffering in this world. They feel remorse at the end of their life. And some people cry in the middle of the night because they are lonely and without hope or love. You have to work at life, you have to somehow everyday get a little closer to the harmony that rules creation. You have to somehow get closer to who what your real nature is and that will set you free. Follow you inner voice, becuse your hearet is always connected tyo God, wherer as if you listen to your brain, well... look around at the world today. Anyway, I have to play some guitar and am seeing Cherly Crow on Saturday at GM place here in Vancouver, CanadAs taser capital, "how may we taser you toda?" rOB IN THE fOG IN gOD I listen to music (right) while I do this and sometimes smoke a bit of pot so if I sound like I am in another world, I am. maybe if you say it you will mean it and when yo find it you will keep it in a permanent state. The music of Coldplay will forever be in my heart.
  11. Coldplay? Coldplay are in my opinion one of the most elecrtifying examples of human creativity this world has seen in a long time. They are the Michaelangelo of sound and emotion they are the muse of charm and wonder they are beauty in a sea of darkness they are hope in an endless night. they are this and they are and more than everything I have not said. And that is just the start of how this band has affected me, what they mean to me and how feel. Stay Well, Rob
  12. And so I wonder. I remember about ten years ago Dr David Suziki (Canadian biologist) was giving his two bits worth at a land developement meeting outside Vancouver where he was an invited speaker. After talking about the genral impact of the land developement he gave an analogy about mans awareness and the environment. He said that if you take a frog and chuck it into a pot of boiling water, the frog jumps out and lives. But if you put the same frog in a pot of tepid water and gradually turn up the heat, the frog boils to death. The point being, who's to say mankind will notice the end comming? About twenty years ago (1988) NASA scientist James Hansen (who is now director of The Goddard Space Institue / part of nasa) gave a speech outlinging to the US Congress a climate sceario very mush like today. Only with a few minor errors, like the fact that the actic ice cap is melting 35 years ahead of predictions. 35 years? Greenland is also going rapidly as are massive ice shelves in the southern polar seas. And, odd as it may seem, the world temperature actually dropped .75 degrees last year. It wiped out the heat gains for the last hundred years. Maybe the world will get colder from now on? Scientist know from ice core stidies that an ice age can come on in as little as ten years. Is there a reason why millions cubic kilometres of water is frozen solid on this world? I guess wea re going to find out soon egh? I personally am optimistic about my own life and my own happiness, but when it comes to having any faith in polititians to save this world... excuse me while I barf. Like Chris Martin says in Violet Hill "when the futures architechtured by a carnival of idiots on show...". It really freaks the shit out of how completely unaware so many people and politicians are about the severity of this issue. I think that part of the problem with man and the state of imabalnce we persist in is that we take life for granted. If you take life for granted then not much of anything has any value because everything only exsits for you to exploit for your own gain. Sound familiar? This world is not "like" a life support sytem floating in space, it "is" a life creation system floating in space. Some scientist studied the planetary evoltion of earth and figured out that if any of a million separate phenoenom had been just slightly different, life as we know it would not have been poosible. Everything exsists only so that life may manifest? I feel myself that this world is actually a divine creation and everything in it is also divine. But it can also be the worst hell you ever woke up to. It's all a matter of choice. Life is a school where we learn to crawl on the highway of love. And where the proud and arrogant are brought to their knees oneday. I just hope we make it. Everything in the world now seems so dark. So much greed and mistrust. So much alienation. And these young kids in the Middle-east who are just without hope and whose only goal in life is to become a human bomb? If ever there was a time in the history of this planet for a God conscious person to manifest in this world, the time is now. To me it is like this, most people think they are in control of their life. We are "in control" up to the second we die, at least that IS the illusion. Well that's my bit for today. In the music we are one. And in oneness are we found. Rob In the fog in Vancouver. in time we bend in time we are made to understand It really is "such a perfect day". Everyday.
  13. My name is Rob and I am a musician living in Vancouver. This thread is for people who are hopelessly addicted to the music of Coldplay. It's a place where you can give the rest of us, "your take" on what matters in life today, or maybe you just want to say something about anything going on...out there. My first post on this website will be to say a word or two about my favourite band. I first saw Coldplay live at GM place on 17/01/05 (?) which was coincidentally the 250 anniversary of either Motzarts birth or death. I love Motzart and alot of other amazing talent both past and living, but this Coldplay are for me fairly close to the pinnicle of human creative potential. I f Angels have ears, they hear Coldplay. Coldplay are a testament to the power of developing your own God given talent (it helps if you have a bit). I am so touched by so many of their songs. Touch me where I live, in the heart. I'm just learning to do that with my music, and it's a so very moving and beautiful experience to be touched or to touch anohters heart through music. What this world needs is a change of heart. This human race has to start caring for itself, one another and the planet, in no particular order. We are so close to the brink now both socially and environmentally it scares the living shit out of me, and I am not a scientist. The Artcic is melting 35 years ahead of the best super-computer models ever devised. Oops, I guess we "screwed up" say the crowd who run the world? What does this all have to do with the music of Coldplay? Everything and more. It's about having a passion for life, and the ceaselessly devastating beauty and wonder of this bliding reality we call life, and the physical cosmos within which we exsist. It's about caring for yourself and all life in this world. It's about shouting out agianst the evil and greed of mankind. It's about changing your heart. I have been so inspired by Coldplay. My early life was an emotional trainwreck and it's only in the past 10 years that my heart has come back to life, and only in the last three have I seriously dedicated myself to music, guitar and keyboards. And that is pretty much a result of the creative work this band has done. For me it is a miracle to be able to realize my dream of developing my own talent and I will for ever be grateful for their inspiration. And it's not just the over-all emotional feeling / impact a particualer tune has on me but it is everything in a song. I become lost in everyone of their songs, and everytime i hear it, i like it more? The emotional impact these songs pack is ugh... beyond description? Chris said of the show I was at; without exception, the fans on this tour (X&Y) have been exceptional, but some nights the roof just gets blown off the stadium, and the last 2 nights in Vancouver were that. I agree. I just saw them at Pemberton BC Can and was 25M dead center stage for the entire show, on a field in the mountains at dusk. Seeing them live those two times has given me enough spiritual energy to continue my own musical journey and it is one amazing experience. Music is the language of the heart, it is the language of God in Creation. It is the language of the God who dwells in your own heart. And in that heart is a place where all things cease to exsits yet from which, all creation comes. I was once looking up at the stars and thought: if the Creator of this universe meant to create a perfect finite representation of something which is infinite, then this life and reality would be it, right? We wake up from our dreams every morning, we pee, we eat, we work and we cry every day, each one just a slighly different version of the day before, and we do it all in the hand of God but are never aware of that presence. Never before in the history of man have so many people been so alienated from themselves and from so many others. We think we can play the same olds cards to fix the world today... but the end-game is upon us... now. My point is, music has the power to change peoples hearts, like personal tradgedy will change your heart. And hopefully people will start to realize that we exsist as a part of Creation, and not the owners of Creation. Maybe then they might start to see the beuty in everything. The crazy part is, if God is everywhere, then that means God exsists inside of you. Regardless of your religion. When they find the beatuy particle, they will have found the God particle. I just hope it's not too late to save this world because we have treated it like trash and then walked all over it for good measure. Good luck egh? I guess that's why I spend so much time listening to Coldplay and hours on my own buried in headphones, guitars and keybord... it's a scary world out there and I feel peace when I do the above. Stay Well, Rob And all that exsists, it shines for you and you alone
  14. tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow we are one I sometimes wonder if I would be better off not watching the news. I watch a lot of news and it seems as though the world is not quite right anymore. I guess I should really go start a political blog somewhere. But until then I am here! What is it with these Islamo-fascist guys anyway? Get over it! Listen to this: (as I heard it one morning on cbc (canada) am radio), in Baghdad, Shiite militias are pulling people off the street into "ambulances", and if there is one glitch in, or even a whisp of suspiscion about, the authenticity of this Suuni muslims "Shiite disguise" then you are one very dead Sunni. They will even go so far as to check the ring tone on your cellphone. If this ring tone just so happens to be a "Sunni rinftone" (La Mere by Bobby Darrin maybe?), then you are shot. Shites kill Sunnis, and Sunnis kill Shites. What is wrong with this picture? Are we ever going to get it right? Have you ever wondered why you sit in your nice whatever in whereever city or countryside, and not on top of some huge garbage pile in Buenos Airies, recycling garbage for a living? Or maybe you would like to be one of those people in northern Uganda who had there hands and faces cut off by rebels who undoubtedly had "God on their side". If everyone claims to have God on their side, then what the hell are we fighting for? If you want to see a scary perspective on that particular qustion you may want to go to cbc.ca/docs and look up a title named "why we fight". It's a two hour documentary on Americas slide into the military-industrial abyss, just as Dwight D. Eisenhower sadly predicted it might, in his farwell speech to the nation after two (?) terms as president. Are we destined to go through cataclysmic change the likes of which modern man has ever seen. Will great tradgedy change the hearts of men? Are we smart enough to survive ourselves? That is the only question left to answer as far as I can see. Not that I have given it much thought but we seem to always be repeating the same old mistakes. This life is like a grand play which keeps going on and on and on, with everything always changing but forever remaining the same. Has there ever been an age of man when there was no war? Until then, stay well.
  15. I ran (t) AgaiN Are there really eleven dimensions? Do trees and plants communicate with one another? Is the earth really flat after all? These and all other questions on the fate of man shall I answer on this page of silliness. I am going to set up a political blog somewhere but I do this here because people who are in the groove of Coldplay might also b be agh, for lack of a better phrase and no pun intended, "harmonically / sympathetic" to my feelings about this life and this world. To me this world is the incarnation of God itself. To me everything is the Face of God. Ok, only when I am feeling good! But really, does it get any better than this anywhere out there in the immediate universe? Tennis on Jupter anyone? This world is not a "random accident". No, this world was desighned to house the incredible miracle of beauty in this universe which we call LIFE. In fact, some stargazers have detected earth like planets in about 20 different galaxies oddly enough by first looking for a huge "deflector " planet like Jupitier, which in fact (oddly enough) shields earth from some bad asteroid storms which pass by earth every now and then. In the deflection shadow of these huge planets they find planets which are most earth like in all aspects. Coincidence? Or Intelligence? And in life we have great joy and great tradgedy. And we also have the music to go with it. I will never get tired of listeneing to Coldplay. Every song is a work of art and genious, on the part of all involved, from technician to artist. I am so inspired by this group. Every song is a mini-symphony and every note a mini symphony unto itself (excuse me while I puke). Yes I feel so moved by this music, it is so f...ing moving. And each song is perfection itself, at least as close to it as you can be in this plane of exsisitence I figure egh? it feels sooo good. And then we have the Middle East thing going all squirrely like nbody ever predicted Hurricane Katrina would be such a sleeping killer? The fog of war? The fog of war? And everytime I see Akmed Imajamhead interviewed on TV (the mini supreme ruler of Iran, just one step below the three wise men who are the brains behind this soon to be nuclear theocracy), I want to crap my pants. The guy is scary with a capital birthday-beheading thank you very much, for your theocractic nightmare. And they want to develop the bomb? Let's all celebrate now, yippee they just car-bomed Israel out of exsistence literally, with five or six 10 megaton atomic carbombs which are all set to go off at the same time. It could very well happen unless Iran is stopped right now. These people talk with God, and God has told them to "roast the Infidels". Don't forget, these peple love death more than life. This to me is not a reasonable group of people you negotiate with. If I wanted to live in the thirteenth century under theocratic Taliban rule, I would have bought that ticket, but I did'nt. I bought the ticket that goes to the 21st century on the garden of eden I call earth. To look into the eyes of your lover and see all the stars and galaxies and time that will ever be? A little romantic? (does anyone have a throat depressor?) Why not, we create our own universe by what we think. Our thoughts become smart missiles which drag us by leash and chain through this universe to a myriad of actions collectively known as the "human effect". And what effect are we having on earth? Apparently all the supercomputers in the world are not capable of predicting what ill happen with this global warming thing. The British royal society recently stated that an increase of 3 degrees ceelcius was not unreasonable to expect in the next 100 years, double the previous prediction. Good luck egh? I just want to enjoy the ride as they say. Life is so short and what do we learn? This life is such a miracle and we are prsoners to our fate, until in the end we are, "swallowed in the sea". That song just ended, pretty serendipitious egh? So raise a little hell, because heaven is starting to look, like she was raped, strangled and murdered.

  17. this is a little more optimistic... i guess!! When I was a kid I went on this huge roller coaster and it blew my mind! And today it's like the whole world is on a roller coaster, you are either on your way up the food chain or you are on your way down the food chain. A little too Darwinian? I watch the news devotedly (would'nt dare miss the end of the world!) and tonight memorized a few fun figures. Does one, ten, or a hundred people die a day in Iraq? Over a hundred now for three months or so. They will soon partition Bagdad. On both sides you will be killed for being like the people on the other side of town? If this world is extremely heavan-like in many respects but also very hellish, then maybe we have hell on earth and not up on some pie in the sky? That's not to discount the possibility that there is a pie out there somewhere and it is hell. All things a re posible, but maybe not that? What do you do when people hate and they want your land. And if they have to "exterminate" you in the process (Akmed ('the joker') Amadinajad), then so be it. What a freaky world we now inhabit. I vote to give Iran the bomb. Would'nt that be a very merry Christmas indeed. It's a lifestyle and a religion. Check out the bbc clips of daily worship at your friendly neighbourhood mosque in Syria. Goebells would have been envious of the manipulation and deception. What do you do with people who want to annilhate your race. I am not a Jew but if I sympathize extremely. We are in an almost intractable position, as the shock waves (effects) of global warming increase in frequency and intensity be they extreme weather, drought, environmental disaster or plague to any life form or us, are we also entering a world where hate is the soup du jour and kill your enemy before he kills you is the daily prayer at worship? If God were on my side..... And then there is the story about the Chinese construction workers who are buiding this huge tower for the Olympics. They left their home towns to do this to help their families. At the end of the project many were unpaid and some of them committed suicide by jumping from the top of the tower they built. Will we ever get it right? Will we ever see the path to a world of peace? Have you beem heat-waved this summer yet? And last but not least I have to thank this group for some of the most moving music ever created. I have been so inspired by this group to explore my own musicallity. When I play music (and also feel with the music of others) I go to the point of calm, the place beyond disturbance, the land that time forgot. A land of MELODY, HARMONY, RYTHM, COLOUR and FEELING. Music for me has always been a refuge whether playing or listening. Tthis music will stand the test of time. this music is as good as any ever created in any genre.

  19. And on that sombre note I start a new thread which like all the rest will end up history, ulessI bookmark it right now! I am mildly disturbed about this Middle East business. I am convinced that the only way that situation will ever be resolved is if the entire education system in the Middle East is radically changed in terms of content. Why not teach the young children to love all humans and not just those in your family, clan, or religious group? Is that such a radicla infidel concept? Because if it is then we have a small bridge to cross. And all these people just keep on dying, being mowed down in Iraq in the noonday sun, or blown to kingdom come by some poser at a day labour depot enticing workers closer with job offers until the truck blows up. Where will it end? Suppose almost everyone you knew had been attacked or killed by some other group. Suppose millions of your people died and this happend not so long ago. And suppose today that some new group wants to "exterminate" the Jews? (Akmed Amadinajad / Akmed I'm-a-jihadi). How are you going to react? Anyway, I think this mess has to start with changing the young open hearts of those who have not been poisoned by the evil of Islamo-fascism. And as if being at war with ourselves is not enough, we are at war with the planet. Last year the Amazon Rain forest experienced a very bad drought. Big rivers looked like someone had shut off the water upstream days before, only these rivers are not dammed. Scientist say that if this goes on for two or three years, most of the trees in the rain forest could die. The Amazon rain forest cycles huge amounts of oxygen and carbon. If it goes we may also. We are in fact on a freight train to hell. We can't live with ourselves and we have no respect for this world which gives us life. Do we deserve this world? Are we worthy of this world? How did we get "here" anyway? And just "where" is "here"? Who am I and just "who" are "you"? We are a souless lot for the most part, lost but not without hope. Do we have to relive the past in order to feel yet more pain? I listen to Coldplay everyday and the songs just keep sounding better and better. To me, these guys are fucking geniouses, all of them! They inspire me to practice / develope my own talent and explore all forms of music. This life is incredible, it's a vast and boundless mystery with surprise for all of us, and lessons to be learned and burned in the heart for ever. In time we are all reborn and live again, in time we learn to be who we are.
  20. 27/01/06! / Vancouver! I went to the friday night show in Vancouver. I am forever changed!
  21. Random Natter / Have a Chatter? I like to think I am more that just parroting lyrics? Some people have a way of saying a universal truth in such a way as it goes to your heart instead of your head. And I have always been drawn to these people, like Bob Dylan, Paul Simon, David Bowie, and many other great artists such as Coldplay. How does one see the trees for the forest these days? Are we living "Kingdom of Heavan" all over again, only this time we use real guns with real bullets? And I wonder if each time has it's own particular spirits who are called to interpret that time for the rest of us. It is a no-brainer? Coldplay are without exception one of the most electrifying groups in the world today. I was addicted to this music before I first heard Yellow. That's how powerful it is. I was lucky enough to see them for the first time (embarressed) at GM Place in Vancouver on 27/01/06, the 250 anniversary of the birth of Motzart. That place had the roof blown of two nights in a row. Even the entry in the Coldplayer journal mentioned those two nights as in the exceptional category. to be alive now and to feel this life is a miracle created just for you
  22. Have I saved the world recentley? No, and I don't want to try dying either. I believe that when we individually raise our consciousness then the world will be more peacefull, not so much the other way around. Speaking of peace, Mr. Zarqouwi is at peace now, so to speak. What was this guy on? Turbo-hate? Compulsive decapitatus? Zarquowi has given new meaning to the word gruesome. But there is hope for that region if the new government can flex a little muscle with majority support. I guess? I hope? I would'nt want to live in Iraq even if I were a rodent. Chaos central. Car Bomb Festival Capital of the World. Waging war on civilians and the interior police and not the military, was Zarquowis game, which in the end caught up with him. And now we have this guy at Princeton University who has developed these gizmos which eat, separate and store carbon. As in 'greenhous gas / carbon'. He figures (they do that at Princeton) that 200,000 of these things around the world would bring the atmosphere into equilibrium in say ten years, whereas as 1,000,000 or so would take us back to the atmosphere say the start of the industrial revolution. If I remember? And then the story goes, we put it back into the oil well deposit it came from deep underground. Or so the theory goes. It could work, stranger things have happened. I am not desighned to get out of bed at 5.30 which is what I do now, for how much longer I know not.... and I love what I do. But it doesn't agree with the part of me which wants to stay up late and play music. Anyway, I don't want to loose a paw in the veneer clipper tomorrow so this monkey rests to face another day with dreams to fulfill. LIke learnig how to spell.
  23. ALL THE TIME IN THE WORLD? The only problem with that scenario is that may be all the time we have left before planet earth passes the "point of no return", with the ensuing evironmental meltdown so sudden and abrupt that we won't know what hit us. Kind of like slowly being burned to death. At least that is according to the top world scientists who advise Al Gore, The President Who Never Was! His joke, not mine. And the carbon industry is running national add campaigns in the US saying that carbon dioxide is "life". Life? for a plant maybe? You are part of the human race, part of the stars and the outer space / Coldplay It is the responsibility of every human (creation) to protect the creation of that power which has created all that is. Like actors in a movie, we are never able to stop the action and see that some power is sustaining everything all the time. We live in a world of fantasy and make beleive. What we wish sometimes comes true, and sometimes what we never dreapmt of becomes our worst nightmare. Just ask the rerlatives of the latest car bomb victims in Iraq. Or the parents of the kids who were slaughtered in Afganistan today, stopped and executed in cold blood by Sunni madmen. Lunatics beyond the fringe. Car Bombs Sans Borders. And what if those scientists are right? Maybe it won't be so bad. Maybe we will make a smooth transition to a better environment. And maybe all hell will break loose. Enjoy what time you have, in any case it will never come again BUTCHILDRENWEARE ANDLOSTWEHAVEBECOME INTIMEWEUNDERSTAND THATWEHAVEBEENFOUND
  24. Think you got it Rough? There was a painter once who cut his ear off and gave it to his lover and said, " take good care of it." He is also quoted as saying the following in a letter to his brother Theo, shortly after settling in a new asylum and being hounded out of the previous one: "As a painter I will never amount to much now, I am sure of it now." He had painted over seeven hundred canvasaes at this point and his brother had not sold one until shortly after he wrote the above. He died in the arms of his brother after fatally shooting himself hours earlier. His mother lived to see his genious acclaimed universally after she herself had tossed out cratefulls of his paintings years earlier, to the junk pile. And I missed the first half of the show! What a bizarre story. And how is this for eerie... he died at the exact same age that Mozart died, thirty-seven years of age. Seven years after or so. It was Frost or Wordsworth who said, "Stranger things happen on earth and in heaven than are dreapmt of in the mind of man. And today a Van Gough will go for in excess of one-hundred-million US. Yesterdays junk is todays art? Who would of ever in a million years dreampt up such a story? And there are so many of these extaordinary tales of lives like this all around us. The world is such a bizarre place to be localized, so to speak. On this world there are as many shades of civilizations as there are shades of consciousness in one human beings mind. From heaven to hell we have it all. And what ever reality unfolds is the reality we all are generating with our collective dreams. (I guess?) We in the west are lucky to some degree having escaped the harsh realities of those hundreds of millions of people who live on hope and and a dollar a day. You are what you do? How about you are what you are. So many people in the west have become totally identified with what they do or have that their entire self worth and emotional security is undermined when the expansion of that process is threatened. As in other people wanting a share of their pie. A fine mess you have us in this time Ollie. So until next time I leave you to ponder the complexities of this universe and remember when in doubt... Campino!
  25. I Feel Free Martin Luther KIng was quoted once as saying, " Service is the rent we pay for the space we occupy." I will never forget that. Maybe one day I will even put it into practice. They say that service to others is one way to feel greater love. I would'nt know about that, I'm a Yorkshire terrier. So I don't want anyone floating out there on the plasma-photonic waveto panic, the world will not come to an abrupt end anytime soon, but I get the creepy feeling the plane has no pilot? Our attitude about the environment is, "out of site, out of mind." This atittude works well if you are an ostrich or a mole or something of no destructive consequense like man. As the bbc broadcast today, my cast away cell phone, stereo, electronic whatever, gets illeagally imported to China where all the precious metals are recovered. And all the waste is burnt at night in huge open bonfires where all the dioxins, lead and other bio-friendly chemicals re-enter the eco-system not as inert compounds, but as supertoxins carried on a jetstream to a neighbourhood near you? When are we going to get it? When the last tiger disappears from the face of this world for all time? Think about it, every tiger in the world gone for ever. Five years ago there were less than 5000 Bengal (i think) tigers left in the wild, and as of today they are still being poached. Or how about the Russian bear hunt. It's very risky, for the bear that is. I guess these Russian hunters must be drunk or something because they have it all ass-backward. What they do is more like an execution. Adult humans pay big bucks for the opportunity to sneak up on a hibernating bear and blow it to kingdom come at close range with a high powered hunting rifle. Grizzly bears are one of a few sentient beings who are fond of watching the sunset. Bruce Cockburn was right, if I had a rocket launcher some son of a bitch wourld die. Everything in this world is the result of billions of years of endless creation on a planet floating in perfect balance with nine other massive chunks of matter all held in place by the creator and destroyer of life, the sun. Now you tell me, is that a miracle or what? It is so sad that while this continuous miracle of life and exsistence is given to us all, on a planet that is often more fantsy-like than "rea", sometimes some of us fall so far away from centre that this world more resemble hell than heaven. But maybe if we werer not born into this mortal shell and we were not subject to all things a human can feel, then maybe the purpose of creation would be unfufilled. I have a fascination for old ww2 footage and artwork. The amount or volume of barbarity which man has displayed to other humans is exceeded only by the sorrow felt by those who survived. And then yesterday we have HAPPY Amadinajad, the current psychotic leader of Iran, on a visit to Germany make a comment about how Germans are muzzled about telling the true story about ww2. Like no Jews were killed Happy? This guy is a bigger threat to world stability than ten George Bushes could ever be. It's on a par with the comment Idi Amin made on a visit to Germany once when he turned to then Chancellor Helmut Khol and asked why there were no public statues of that great German statesman Adolph Hitler.? If it walks like a duck and talks like a duck then it must be a duck. I must rant off now. I must play piano. Yes the wolrd still turns, yes we live another day. Into these times we walk with eyes that see no end to the boundless sea of want which rules the world today
