  1. I'm pretty sure that's her review from her website. And why doesn't that sound legit? :wtf:
  2. Sorry for all the ridiculousness that's gone on here, dude :dozey:. Can't wait to read what you have to say! :D
  3. at Gothamist's graphic design department . If I had enough money to go, I would...it's for a good cause, it would be an awesome thing to go to even without Coldplay, it's my birthday...and it's Coldplay :P
  4. Yeah, I've slept out on the street for Coldplay before, so no worries, but I just was hoping there was a chance of VIP passes this time too to make it all easy. With all of us together and hanging out all night, it's going to be a blast! YES!   Oh man, we're going to make up for all the times we didn't meet, sleeping out on the street all night . As said, it was really, really fun, but I don't know if it was something I'd really travel to get to. They will only play 4-5 different songs, but they'll play them multiple times over and over to make sure they get a good take--it's awesome to see, but it's nothing like a real concert or anything. The other thing is that unless you win VIP passes in some hypothetical contest, it's impossible to get right in the front: the whole front section is roped off for VIPs, so normal people that have waited for hours and hours, at best, can only get to be about 20 rows back (or in back of the stage). If you don't get there early enough...I mean, this was the biggest crowd Today ever had, and people were as far as like four city blocks away. They had to do helicopter shots of the audience!
  5. Oh, haha, I still have that as my location. I just moved back to the US from Norfolk last month :P I live outside of NYC :D. I just don't know if it'll be worth it to try to get in. I know some people sweet-talked their way into ACL, but I don't know if I'd be able to meet the same luck...and I currently have a broken leg, so I don't know if I just want to have a nice day in the city if I don't get in, especially because I'd be going alone :P
  6. Still unsure of whether or not I should go into the city and see if I can beg my way in...:uhoh:
  7. :dozey: I'm as excited for that as you are for winter in Wisconsin :P
  8. GODDAMMIT, THAT'S MY BIRTHDAY AND I LIVE RIGHT OUTSIDE NYC. I need to become a rich philanthropist right now so I can go :sneaky:
  9. Haha, did she say that? I don't remember. I guess, why should she know it was that day--most of my English friends barely even know what Thanksgiving is, besides the fact that it exists. I've had to explain multiple times that it's not actually about Jesus . Also, I think the fact that it changes its date every year makes it a bit hard to keep track of. *sigh* Memories :wacky:.
  10. I actually really like the dress, I just think it needs to be all one piece. The gap kind of hits her in an unflattering place.
  11. I don't even remember the cold--I was thankful that I was from a very cold part of the world that night :P That was the best Thanksgiving of my life and I wasn't even in America or doing anything remotely related to the holiday :wacky:
  12. Oh my God, this night :bigcry: Best thing ever.
  13. Oh yeah, I actually forgot that it's released quite a bit earlier than the 24th in some places. Man, I wish I could revise my vote. I'd say somewhere in early October in that case. Exactly. It's perfectly fine not to know how it works, but a small bit of research will tell you that there's basically no way this thing (or really any major album) won't leak.
  14. If a leak was found (and it's still far too early, I think, unless it's a planned leak), I bet the person would start a whole new thread in excitement, not come and dig up this one :P And they're being so incredibly laissez-faire with everything surrounding this album's security that a leak is even more inevitable than it would be otherwise. Everything leaks, guys. Unless you're Kanye and Jay-Z.
  15. Jesus. I had VIP passes last time, so I got there at 6AM and all was well. My mom and I are planning to get a hotel, but if there aren't VIP passes via Coldplaying this time...oof :uhoh:
  16. MAJOR CROSSING FINGERS! I hope they don't do VIP passes via stupid radio show contests again...
  17. I guessed October 12, just because VLV leaked about 12 days before official release :P.
  18. Thank you so much for your report and the promise of more later! I almost can't believe you didn't have to sign waivers or anything--for the Christmas Lights premiere, we had to sign our lives away, and that's one song! They sure are doing things differently this time. They're being so laissez-faire on purpose that whoever thinks this thing isn't going to leak is delusional (maybe :P). They might even be one of those artists to leak it by their own hand.
  19. Para-Para-Para-Pants sounded like another band had taken the stage at ACL between Charlie Brown and Clocks
  20. 4 Minute Warning has to be one of my favorite Radiohead songs, but...I just don't see much similarity :uhoh:. Maybe the beat? It reminds me most of a mix of older Coldplay songs, which is comforting these days.
  21. Yep, I definitely like it more the more I hear it :wacky:. PLEASE let it stay this simple on the record :uhoh:.
  22. I just think if I can afford it without starving myself out of house and home, I'd have a much more fun evening at a Coldplay gig than doing many other things that I could be putting my money into, even if I'm mostly there for 4/5 of the setlist. I'm just addicted to live performances.
  23. Yeah, it's certainly not as high as he's ever gone or anything like that. It's just a lot of falsetto in the chorus, and I'm not generally a fan of falsetto. Like I say, though, Chris is known for that, so if I had a big problem with that, I wouldn't be a Coldplay fan :P. I think you're really going to like it, at least in comparison to the stuff we've been hearing lately :nice:. It definitely has the old "them" in it in this live version.
  24. I said 6, even though that feels a bit harsh. I guess I'm just worried that they're going to ruin it in the studio with lots of production, and despite the fact that I think it's great as it stands now, I do feel like it's similar to things they've done before. I know, I know...some people are never happy--too different vs. too similar. I'm actually listening again right now and wishing I gave it more of a 7-8. My main gripe is it's sung very high, too much falsetto...but that's just Chris, we've dealt with that for years :P
  25. I don't know, I feel like the quality of this video is much, much better than the ones of Princess of China...enough to make an opinion based off of, for me. PoC is still mostly a mystery to me.
