yeah, i've told my mom and brother that we're GOING to be there by 4AM at the latest if i don't win these things, something my mom wasn't too happy about. she said 5 was ok, but 4 was pushing it. well, i'm putting my foot down. i'm GETTING a decent standing spot, whether it's VIP or not. but let's just hope that we all get VIP spots! angie, are you coming to NYC anyway, even if you don't get VIP passes?

Hey Coldplayers!! As some of you already have heard, on Saturday I leave to spend the rest of my summer in the Netherlands as an au pair to a family I've babysat for for years. I'm REALLY excited, but unfortunately I don't think I'm going to be able to come here as much as I'm used to, so I thought I'd follow in the tradition of leaving a thread when you know you're going to be leaving for a long period of time. This isn't to say that I'm going completely Coldplaying-cold-turkey, because I hope to pop in and post a few things from time to time (unless I really hate my trip for some reason and I fold myself back into Coldplaying like I did this year, but I really don't see that happening :D), but I just wanted to say a proper good-bye (a bit early) to avoid questions about my absence, given that I've been on here pretty much 24/7 since December. However, I'll be keeping a blog while I'm away, exclusively for Netherlands-related ventures, which you're all welcome to read! It's at http://chelseanl.blogspot.com/, and feel free to comment and the like, because I'd love to hear from you! Just try to keep in mind that my parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, real-life friends, and the like will also be reading the blog, so if you could refrain from posting anything you wouldn't want (or I wouldn't want ;)) such people reading, I'd be grateful :D. Also, my real-life friends aren't so knowledgeable about the fact that I have an internet-life so...you might want to keep that on the DL too :P Anyway, I'll miss you all and the board terribly, but I'll be popping in a few times to check out the Coldplay news and to post pictures. I'll be back in early August, (after a mini-vacation to London with a probable Bakery visit :dance:), and you know I'll be back to being a constant fixture on here :rolleyes:. And I'm not leaving until this Saturday, remember, so I PROMISE to give a full report of the Today Show on Friday, VIP passes or not :dance:. And I'll be around quite a bit until then. british all the way. and scottish too, but i have NO idea what's said most of the time. accents, any kind, have always fascinated me :D i have a boring, middle-of-the-road, apparently nondescript american accent, but yet i get asked about it all the time, at least from my home friends. it's weird, because i don't think i talk funny, but my entire life people have been imitating my voice and saying i sound different than most people. i think it might be the lack of a regional american accent, because a lot of my friends have the CT accent (silent T's, various other things), whereas i don't. my mom has a bit of a russian/ukrainian accent when she gets angry, and my dad's parents are from england, so maybe i'm just a hybrid of a bunch of different things? it was funny, because in 10th grade, every single one of my regular teachers except one had a british accent. i think i must be highly impressionable when it comes to accents, because people would tell me that some of my words would have a british lilt to them on occasion! then i started listening harder and realized i wasn't the only one of my friends to do this, but once again, i was the only one to get made fun of for it :dozey: even if i listen to british radio for long stretches of time, or see two british movies in a short period of time or something, my brain does this thing in which i think a bit in a british accent, and i think it might pop through on occasion in a word or two...i wish i could control it a bit better so people didnt think i was trying to be pretentious or anything :P

i stumbled across this site back in 2005 and haven't touched it with a 10-foot-pole since. whether it's meant to be funny or not, it really creeps me out :laugh4: even that picture scares the pants off me.

from what i understand, 25 coldplayers will win two passes each, so they'll each get to bring a guest. if this close pen is coldplayers only, then it'll just be 50 people! you can't get much better than that. also from what i understand, if the band are feeling generous and in good moods, between songs/commercial breaks/etc, they just might come out to give autographs and take pictures etc. let's just hope the early hour doesn't make them too cranky :P ohhhh my goodness, so nervous!

i'll be screaming for ALL of them! :D i've actually been staying away from my email, mostly. i don't think ian will do an MSG thing, becuase 3PM EST is the deadline for applications, not necessarily for the winners to be emailed. he'll piss a LOT of people off if he picks winners early, so i really don't expect anything until anfter 3PM tomorrow. after that...fair game. though i think that he'll need to have a bit of time to work things out, so maybe not until a bit later... eeek, so nervous!

we'll know sometime tomorrow night, guys :D i'm not saying that's easy, but it could be worse, eh? in the mean time, i'll go back to pulling out my hair with worry...eeeeesh how i want this.

hahaha, i don't know, i think they're more likely to do the daily show for some reason. jon's a big coldplay fan :D. fingers crossed for the 25th, or that thedailyshow.com messed up and they are actually on thursday.

yeah, i just find that it's weirf that neither coldplay.com or thedailyshow.com mention the appearance, when at least thedailyshow.com should. lots of third-party sites mention it, so i think there might be some truth to it if so many places are reporting it...hmm.

updated, finally :D i didn't take off the daily show thing, but i'm not so sure if it's still happening :bigcry: i guess we'll just wait and see.

you're right, mel. i think we should stop worrying before it's time. they're notorious for saying things like this anyway, but you've got to admit that when they're talking about calling it quits for good...it's worrying. what the hell would i do with all my time?! :P

hmm. there's still no guest on the list for wednesday, and that's tomorrow...i'm going to be stalking comedy central that night. i'll be gutted if this never happens, because i was SO looking forward to it! :bigcry:
