  1. yes, we neeeeed a return to novelty geeky t-shirts and vintage jeans and cool jackets!! the all black was a little...boring. certainly not horrible, though. combined with the white sneakers, however.....
  2. in both books i have, he was described as being very christian when he was younger. interviews i have read have said he believes in a higher power, but not necessarily a christian god. he's more into the morals apparently, saying "isnt it nice just to be nice? i think its nice just to be nice." and he studied ancient history at uni, so theres lots of biblical tie-ins there. id like to know about the others too.
  3. oooh i WANT it!! i wonder why they even bothered to ask the question. its like asking what the bandmembers names are! so its basically a raffle. whatever, i want to WIN!
  4. i love them. that made my day! the dancing absoultely killed me. as someone said earlier, ive never seen guy move that much! he was the best by far IMO. oooooooh i LOVE them. the video is so ridiculous yet so perfect! :santa2: is that really jonny speaking at the end? it doesnt sound like him.
  5. ^ if i wasnt terrified of needles, id do it. something small in an area that wouldnt distort...that has meaning behind it too. then again, the lyrics to warning sign are wonderful... just think about it before you do it.
  6. aww, thats so cute! LOVE the new avitar by the way. its beautiful! my friend and i were going to get each other gifts based on our favorite bands if we both got into our top choice colleges (which would OBVIOUSLY mean coldplay for me and U2 for him), but i didnt get into my top choice (:bigcry:) even though he did, so we didnt do the gifts. he's totally forgotten about it anyway, i guarantee you. though i was quite interested in seeing what his coldplay-themed gift would have been. currently downloading the christmas message, and HOPEFULLY ill download the toronto concert later in the week. i only have dial up at home, so i have to get a chance to go to my aunts house to use her hi-speed connection. im dying here. maybe ill hit up one of my friends. oh god, the christmas thing was HILARIOUS. theyre such fools, but i LURRRRVE them!! :santa2:
  7. im currently trying to buy parachutes and AROBTTH on vinyl on ebay, but i cant figure out effing paypal. i HATE PAYPAL. always have. so now im obligated to buy parachutes, which is fine by me, but i theres something wrong with my paypal account and i cant pay for it. the things i do for coldplay.... :furious3: :censored:
  8. was watching love actually on DVD yesterday (best xmas movie EVER!) and there was a preview for the "new" peter pan movie on it, and "clocks" was in it! it made me so happy! i think i had a dream with chris in it last night, though i dont really remember.
  9. im glad! lol i have bunches more if you ever are so bored out of your mind. :laugh3:
  10. frankly, i wouldnt be surprised if they broke up in the not-too-distant future. im not rooting for them to fail AT ALL, and i cant honestly say because i dont know either of them, but i just...wouldnt be all that shocked. gwyneth has always seemed very...independent. i really hope they dont break up, for their sake, for apple and moses's sakes, and for chris's sake. if they got divorced, think about what the next coldplay album would be like? i think it would ruin chris. just my opinion.
  11. i once wrote 5 pages in my journal about how i found coldplay because it took a while to get to the bottom of. im certainly not going to get into ALL of that now because someone will kill me, but here's the gist of it: my mom had AROBTTH when it first came out. this was before i liked music much at all, so i didnt really care. she used to play it in the car for like a month straight, but the only song i remember hearing is "clocks", strangely enough. i heard it all the time on the radio, and i thought it was a really good song, but i didnt care about music then. my school band played "clocks" at our christmas concert. my dad also got the CD for christmas from his sister (if you knew my dad, youd understand how hilarious this is). i got into music when i came back from england, and i wouldnt listen to anything but the beatles for a year and a half. i somehow knew who coldplay were and what they looked like and all, but i didnt know anything besides clocks. then when i was in 10th grade in april (im a senior now), my friend got all excited because coldplay came out with a new single. she made everyone listen to it on her ipod, but somehow i never got around to it. i made a mental note (as i had done countless times before) to listen to AROBTTH because she was making such a big deal about it, but before i could, in may 2005, i saw the SoS video on VH1. i remember that so clearly. i saw the writing in the corner and was like, "oh so this is what emma's talking about" and sat down to watch it, and by the time it was over, i was ABSOLUTELY HOOKED. i was captivated, by the song, by the lights, by the way chris moved. i was speechless. i got out my mom's AROBTTH and listened to it right then. i was in love. that whole next week i had to study for exams, but i kept mega hits on in the next room on high volume and every time i heard the opening piano to SoS, i RAN into the room to see chris again. a year and a half later, im completely obsessed. oh, one funny thing: the "first" time i heard in my place right after i saw the SoS video for the first time, i realized i knew that song really well. i subconsciosly played that riff in my mind whenever i was really happy, and i somehow knew all the words. it was kinda creepy. i guess i heard it a lot in restaurants and stuff. yeah, that wasnt so short.
  12. agh, please someone try to bootleg songs!!! pleeeeeease? thats all i ask! im dying without some new coldplay material now that ive heard pretty much everything theyve ever done.
  13. ^i actually really like the fray. ive only seen like a sec of the video, but i loooove that song. he has an amazing voice. i think theyre like coldplay, yeah, but i think they have a slightly different style that makes me think theyre not copycats. it just really is my type of music, i guess, and i like them a lot.
  14. ^someone said sometime in january. hes supposed to be a real asshole, though. im still taping it.
  15. they like the strokes!? yess! i know chris loves bob dylan (the "simple twist" cover is amazing) and jonny cash and u2 especially and a bunch of others. anyone know if they like death cab for cutie?
  16. extras is on HBO, channel 400 here in CT. i hope you get it!
  17. thanks! i like it too, i was just bored one day and found that leafy brush in photoshop and really liked it. i wish i could get it bigger though. had a dream about college acceptances last night. i got deferred from my top choice, and somehow i was on that campus and chris martin was there, he handed me the letter, and my best friend was too. it was a somewhat cameo appearance, but still.
  18. oh oh, ive been listening to christmas music a lot lately to get me in the mood, and chris singing "have yourself a merry little christmas" makes me melt its soo amazing. i cried a few nights ago. that and his version of "2000 miles" make me so happy, he has the perfect christmas music voice. argh i love him. question: did the episode of Extras with chris on already air? xmas break is coming up, so i want to see if i can catch it if itll be on
  19. green eyes...the friend that it reminds me of got into his top choice college today!
  20. today we were all in the student center at my school at a very busy time. theres always some sort of music playing, but during labs period there are so many people in there that you can hardly tell that theres music playing. but suddenly today i stopped in midsentence and was like "I--HEAR--COLDPLAY!!" even though i wasnt aware there was music on to begin with! someone turned on "yellow" on whoever's ipod was hooked up to our stereo and it made me sooooo happy, because during times when lots of people are in the student center its usually gangsta rap or those annoying pop songs everyone knows. and the best part was...no one changed the music for an HOUR!! all songs by coldplay that were on the ipod played straight through without ANYONE changing the music every 5 secs like usually happens. later, when less people were there, "fix you" came on and a bunch of people were like "ooh i love this song" and all sang along. and during "the scientist" lots of people whistled the "ooh oooooooh" parts. it made me so happy. was listening to green eyes during this coldplay party and thinking about my best friend who the song reminded me of. later on today, he got into his top choice college and it was like a huge party at school, he was crying and everything, and watching him cry made me think of green eyes, and its been stuck in my head ever since. i hear from my top choice WITHIN THE NEXT WEEK. im basically creaming my jeans. every time i hear the line "where i wanted to go" in clocks, i basically freak. oyyyy vey. saw shaun of the dead was on earlier tonight. ive never seen it before so i turned it on to see if i could see the part with chris and jonny, but it was the end. but in the end, the girl's flipping through the channels, and chris and jonny are there for like a SECOND, so that made me really happy. stephen colbert talked about gwyneth for like 5 mins yesterday night on his show. i didnt understand the joke, but i thought it was cool. i feel like theres so much more random crap i wanted to say, but college is taking up waaay too much space in my brain right now. ughhhhh
  21. bleh, Z100...i dont even listen to radio...it bothers me too much. but everyone is always glued to Z100 and know all the words to everything...case and point is "smack dat". went to a party last saturday night and everyone just kept reciting the words to "smack dat" while high on caffiene. our school reverend is going to incorporate "clocks" into a weekly sermon! every week for the past year we've had a song, and he's a pretty hip reverend, and soon i think its going to be "clocks"! he's made me want to go to chapel, and im not even christian. (neither is my school, for that matter. our chapel is more of a...meditation session based on music).
  22. oy vey, i have a million! -piano in clocks and speed of sound -the "ooh-ohh" part in the scientist -the louder electric part with the fireworks in "fix you live" -slide guitar opening in daylight -the "would i ever let you down? no way" part in ode to deodorant -chorus in "i ran away" -chorus of "see you soon" -and of COURSE the guitar work in warning sign!! and a million more
  23. at my school, we cant listen to ipods during the school day, and im not out enough by myself to listen to my ipod then, but next year in college, i can walk around all i want listening to my ipod, and therefore COLDPLAY!! i hear people talk all the time about walking around a city or a town listening to their ipod, and ive never done that. i cant wait to be able to just walk to coldplay. when im listening to my ipod, im almost always sitting down. random, yes, but exciting nonetheless. we all know im weird, anyway.
  24. i wish coldplay had attended my sweet 16. though the music, (which i hand-selected myself) was mostly coldplay! i couldnt put in just any song i wanted though, because you cant dance to a whole lot of their songs (not that i wanted people to dance...but its sorta inevitable knowing my friends), and a lot just isnt party music. i had 10 coldplay songs out of 53 (i thought there was more than that...), but to this day when my friends talk about my party theyre like "oh yeah, we played cards and ate pizza and listened to coldplay. it was pretty sweet." but if i was one of those rich spoiled bitches on MTV, i would have tried to get coldplay with everything that i am! speaking of getting coldplay, my school's chapter of amnesty international (which im a member of) is trying to put together a jamnesty, a huge concert of bands to raise money for amnesty international. we're probably only going to get like local bands because we can't pay them and we dont have a whole lot of time, etc, but i think if we had a few years to plan it, it would be worth writing to bands like Coldplay and U2 and other bands that have worked with amnesty in the past. im not saying i think it would have worked, really, but i think we would have had a fighting chance, especially if we teamed up with other chapters, because those bands are on the amnesty boat. i actually had a dream about this. Coldplay was performing on the front lawn of my school, right in front of the chapel, with a bazillion people screaming. i was right in the front. god, do i ever shut up?
