  1. This is from their official Twitter: This has been a slow and painful recovery, but we're almost through. We'll have more info to share as soon as we can post to our blog again. Eesh. I feel for them, but at the same time, I think they need to put in more funds and time into making sure their tech is up to snuff.
  2. I didn't realise how many Coldplayers use Tumblr :stunned: BUT OH MY GOD, IT NEEDS TO COME BACK NOW. I need my chief procrastination tool back. This is obviously the universe telling me to go do some work, but ksrjgkjfhjkgdhhg, I neeeeed Tumblr. Not to be all sensationalist, but it's been down for so long and they say it's a database failure...what are the odds some blogs are affected? :uhoh:
  3. Awww, poor Jonny :P. I've been curious to see how much hair he actually has left and I figured it wasn't much. Any idea where that picture is from that you saw, Anna? The thing is, Will seems to have most of his hair still! Remember it was longer around the time they did the Grammys, I think it was? He should keep some of it around while he still can (and Chris too ), but poor Jonny's not got much choice :P
  4. I bet it was a fake...I don't see how anyone that would even consider putting it up for auction could have a copy. But what I would do to just see what the cool origami pop-up sleeve looks like...:bomb:
  5. THE STROKES :wideeyed: Can I take credit for that purchase? :P [O/T sorry]
  6. I prefer physical copies as well...I'll try to think of other places, but honestly, these days iTunes and Amazon really have the market on legal downloads, which is good because most people immediately think of those places and know where to get things legally without having to contemplate it, but it sucks for people that can't access those sites or who are adamantly opposed to supporting them :\
  7. Mine too :wacky:. It's my desktop as well :P That beautiful zoom out was the big surprise of the video for me and I just teared up when you could see St. Paul's and all the Christmas lights in the trees and the stage...*sigh* Hmm, is there a place you usually download music from? I just checked play.com, one of the only other places I know of to legally download, and they don't seem to have it . OH! Can you access HMV? Try this: http://www.hmvdigital.com/artist/coldplay/christmas-lights
  8. Or that part of the Scientist, which is what immediately sprung to mind :P. But still, I like those kinds of videos best. It could have become one of those Chris-centric videos, though, which would have been unfortunate. However, I think their fame is such that filming a walk down Oxford Street, even late at night, could have caused a lot of logistical difficulties.
  9. It dropped to #4 in the US iTunes store, but rose to #2 in the UK!
  10. :surprised: I would have LOVED a video with a handycam and a walk down Oxford Street! Not that I don't like this one, of course :D. I just often think simple is better, and that that idea sounds like it could have been beautiful :wacky:. But it wouldn't have allowed for fan participation, I suppose...
  11. I missed most of the proper snow last year being home for Christmas, but it did mess me up a small bit trying to fly back in January. But my area didn't get very much after that at all... Right now says partly cloudy for London on Wednesday, but I know how often that changes :P
  12. it figures. I don't bemoan England (or at least my part of it) for not having the proper infrastructure for dealing with snow, because I'm very aware you/we don't get a lot of it here, but being from New England where we're used to it shitting on us every winter, at least before global warming, I just crack up sometimes when entire counties here become completely impassible after like two or three inches. Council hasn't taken my rubbish this week because they claim they can't get up my street, and I look out my window and just laugh at how little there is out there, and almost none of it on the road itself. O/T, sorry. I'm just happy I'm finally getting a proper winter in England :P
  13. Sorry to be ignorant, but what's been going on with the trains? Has it just been the weather? I knew there were Tube strikes, but there haven't been rail strikes as well, have there? I'll be better prepared for the cold this time, but either way it didn't bother me much last time! I thrive in cold weather, honestly. It makes me happy. And things are just a LOT cheaper in America like that...it's crazy.
  14. I was surprised it wasn't for charity, too, actually, but I figure EMI had something to say about that. They haven't reaped in any major Coldplay-funds lately and probably so salivated at the thought of a new single that they said have it be for-profit or don't do it at all :dozey:.
  15. Haha, yeah, last winter here was so boring compared to this. I'm a cold weather and winter freak, though, and have been missing proper intense winters at home these past few years, so I'm LOVING all this :D I like this idea!. I've got a set of my own that I can bring, but thanks for thinking of me :nice:. Coincidentally, I just bought another strand today at QD! They have £1 strands if anyone's got a QD near them. I think there could be a very small chance the studio might not like it, given it's going to be noticeable that a few audience members are literally glowing on TV, but hey, might as well try!
  16. There's a line about Elvis in the song; that's the only reason I can come up with for it :P. I actually didn't catch the line about Elvis on the night of the shoot, so I was totally bewildered as to why three Elvises (Elvi?) were relevant, but took it in stride . I just noticed Guy and Jonny are wearing handwarmers in the video. I don't know why I find this cute, but I do :wacky:. It's like the only clue as to how fricking cold it was that night, since somehow they managed to not get all their breath-clouds on film.
  17. Maybe Chris did it with her for solidarity's sake :dozey:
  18. I bought extra mittens today so I can layer them, and I've got handwarmers, and I'll be wearing two pairs of trousers and another jumper under my jacket . I'm becoming so English with regards to cold...where I'm from this is typical winter temperature, but these days I can't help but marvel how cold it is!
  19. Awesome! That took awhile, though...I sent it first class on Monday! Thought it would get to you by Tuesday, but whatever, at least you got it back  You getting there at 9:30, then? Might want to warn people in queue around you that you;ll have someone joining you in an hour so they don't get shirty when I show up :P
  20. I'd be honored to be called the Will of Coldplaying! :cheesy:  Oh, Will...my new favorite person ever :nice: As badly as I want to win one, of course, I just want to see what it looks like more because it sounds beautiful :wacky:
  21. I always just say "my name is Chelsea ______ and my address is _________" and then at the end just say "thanks for this opportunity!" or something short like that :P. I bet they use a program that randomly selects a winner from a batch of emails for these contests and that they only actually open the winning emails. I can't imagine someone sitting there and closing their eyes and pointing at the screen or something :P I think a couple people have won things before, but fewer than you'd think, I guess.
  22. ^:stunned: That reminds me of what the charts looked like when Viva la Vida was released...but that wasn't just the alternative charts, that was the general charts! I'd love the general charts to look like that with Christmas Lights soon, though :wacky:
  23. I booked my train tickets today...GOD, I feel like train prices went up massively from last year. With a railcard, booking a week in advance, it cost me £36 :dozey:. Anyway, I'll be getting there at 10:30 as opposed to 9:30 because if I booked a 7AM train rather than 8AM, just getting to London would have cost me £38 alone, not to mention getting back home at peak hour. Rage, rage, rage :P. Daniel, Kara, anyone...if you get there before me, want to let me join you in queue? :shy:
  24. ^I assume you mean AM
  25. WAIT, HOW DID MY POST GET POSTED FIVE TIMES?
