  1. Hurts Like Heaven will not be a single for a couple of reasons. First is because it doesn't have a "proper" beginning without attaching Mylo Xyloto with it. Second reason is that, if they elected to do that, you would have to edit down HLH quite a bit due to the total length of the two tracks, which is tough, because you really can't edit HLH without taking out a unique aspect of the song.
  2. I listened to the iTunes version of Charlie Brown yesterday. It sounds exactly like the leak. I don't know where you guys are hearing something different. It is exactly the same as the Sky One Advert as well, no difference whatsoever.
  3. I need help. This is for those who have heard the studio version. Listen to the beginning of the song very closely, as the audio starts to get louder, before the first "big" riff. What is the sound/instrument in the background? It is very subtle, but it sounds to me like an accordion, which would actually make sense based on the article that said the song was originally based on the accordion being the riff itself. Any opinions or answers on this?
  4. I'm glad someone else caught this. I love how they reprise MX a few times over the course of the album. Really helps "continue" the story.
  5. Correct me if I am wrong, but being that it is almost Saturday morning in Japan, won't the retail stores be receiving their shipments of CDs to be released this upcoming week? And thus, wouldn't the chance of the leak become exponentially higher very shortly here?
  6. I think it's funny that everyone keeps coming to this thread hoping to find out about a leak, when quite frankly, once the leak happens, there will be an entirely new thread that will be painfully obvious based on the number of hits its getting.
  7. So I logged off on iTunes and went into the Japanese store. I notice that the countdown clock has the release of Mylo Xyloto next Tuesday at 9am EST. So here is my question: does anyone know if it is possible to create a second iTunes account, buy one of the e-mail gift certificates from the Japanese store, send it to yourself and then purchase Mylo Xyloto??
  8. LetsTalk212 posted a topic in Paradise
Okay, so now that we have seen a good quality version of Paradise live, what is everyones opinion? I personally thought it was a good song once I heard it, but I feel like seeing it live, it just comes across much better. I'd like to get everyones opinion that has seen the ACL stream, as I know there was a lot of division over the song this past week.
  9. This is the caption they are using to plug the new album on iTunes: "With each subsequent release, Coldplay's musical tableau becomes even more awe-inspiring. This bold new album includes 'Charlie Brown,' an upbeat hook-laden Coldplay classic in the making, the high-flying 'Hurts Like Heaven' and the sweeping arena rocker 'Every Teardrop Is a Waterfall.' Pre-order Coldplay's Mylo Xyloto today and get the single "Paradise" right now." Does this indicate the future release of Charlie Brown and Hurts Like Heaven as singles?
  10. In the final chorus, I hear a strong presence of the xylophone, and quite frankly, I love its involvement on the title track, and I now see that we may get it a few more times throughout the album, but its use in Paradise is just tremendous, it really makes that last chorus sound (especially next to Jonny's guitar solo) sound awesome. Has anyone else noticed this, and enjoyed it nearly as much?
  11. I think the people who actually like the song are too busy listening to it and taking it in, rather than running to the board to bitch about how the band must be selling out because its not "AROBTTH Volume 2".
  12. I just searched for Paradise at midnight EST here in the US, and it redirected me to the full Mylo Xyloto tracklist, with only Paradise available. So there it is, folks, have at it.
  13. Absolutely love the piano outro, sounds tremendous.
  14. For those who are bitching about the speculation/theory threads, I have a couple of questions question for you: Why are you reading them? Doesn't the subject line give away the context of the thread in just about every case? If you are above such dialogue, then maybe it's best to just stay out of the threads altogether, while the 85% of us that enjoy them, can continue to do so.
  15. Where are the "facts" that tell me that "There will be no renaming of Hurts Like Heaven"? I think its alright to have a vision and an opinion. Otherwise, what's the point of the message boards? We can read the facts anywhere, no need to have a discussion forum to restate facts.
  16. Yes, the Oracle cleared up MX = Mylo Xyloto, and it being a full length song. I think what I suggested has been misinterpreted. I am simply wondering if the track we know currently as "MX/Hurts Like Heaven" may end up BEING "Mylo Xyloto" on the album, and it was simply a decoy for the time being. Also, to the person who asked why they were leaving the title track off the album, that's not what I was implying. My point was, if my theory is correct, then of course "Hurts Like Heaven" would not make the cut, because there IS no "Hurts Like Heaven.";) But alas, this is all just silly speculation.
  17. Part of me wonders if "MX/Hurts Like Heaven" is the song Mylo Xyloto. It would certainly explain all the rumors of "Hurts Like Heaven" potentially not making the album cut.
  18. Correct, the actual CD release was on June 12th, but the song Viva la Vida was available for immediate download when the LP became available for pre-order on iTunes, which is, if I recall correctly, what Dave Holmes implied was to be the case for Paradise as well.
  19. He is referencing the article that talked about how Paradise was chosen as the first proper single over Charlie Brown.
  20. I don't necessarily agree with that, I think Sky One just edited it to fit the running time of the ad. It certainly sounds edited to me, anyways.
  21. Viva la Vida was released as the "Instant Grat" track on iTunes for the pre-order, not on the same day the album was released. That is what they are doing with Paradise too. I think they are just being very creative in building interest for the album by putting another song out there through promotions. That doesn't mean it has to be a single.
  22. Not to toot my own horn, but I created a thread on this same exact topic... maybe we should at least merge them together?
  23. The more I listen to this song, the more it continues to hit me: this may be their biggest and best song to date. It will undoubtedly be a fixture at the end of their live sets for eternity, along with Viva. I think it ends up being the lead single from LP5. They are pushing it hard on the crowd at these festivals. So my question is, when LP5 is said and done, do you think Charlie Brown ends up being remembered as their most successful and/or best track to date?
  24. So for those of you who did not click the link... this is what we MAY have gotten... Back to the Future Theme (Intro music) Clocks Yellow In My Place The Scientist (New Song) Politik God Put A Smile Upon Your Face (New Song) Viva La Vida Fix You (New Song, "Walking Man" visuals on screen) Lovers In Japan (New Song) Lost! Cemeteries of London (New Song) ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Speed of Sound (New Song) Every Teardrop is a Waterfall But some confirmation would be nice!!
  25. Set list?? It'd be nice to have the names to these "New Songs". http://www.setlist.fm/setlist/coldplay/2011/rock-im-park-nuremberg-germany-5bd33748.html
