  1. If they shows a clip of Suarez blowing his head off I'd pay for that!! :)
  2. Nice to see the FA has got something right for once! Now see off a few more ignorant f&*ers and you'll be on the right track!
  3. You should join this... its funny. Very funny! https://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Stop-Paul-McCartney-and-Elton-John-performing-at-any-more-national-events/210060052453738
  4. Lost in all the inane closing ceremony crap this was an outstanding result that deserves more press. Roll on the Ryder Cup!
  5. You've had sun!! Flippin eck, what's it like?:stunned:
  6. At one point only players from Barcelona & RealMadrid were on the pitch for Spain. It was a club side in all but name and that will always trump the mismash that a country side is. Maybe FIFA should bring in a rule that onfield players must be from at least 3 clubs and no more than 4 from any 1 club. Still. Not see anything like that since Cruyffs total football dutch side of 73-74.
  7. pissing raining again. No thunderstorms yet... but brewing
  8. Raymond Feist - crydee.com. Much faster pace than WoT and more epic scale. Favourite author. 30yr series or books from Magician to Magicians end. Last book out next year.
  9. Are the tv versions of the books any good?
  10. Read all of the WoT books. An acquired taste yes, and has an 'obsessive' fanbase. Sanderson's done a top job with the last 3 books after Jordan (rigby) died- 14 in all with the last out in jan13. First 6 are good then it gets pretty complex & stodgy then speeds up again as the end nighs... Heard good things about the George martin series. Just never quite got round to starting them. Bit of a Feist fanboy as well! :) Try mistborn if you want a quick fix. Ok, if you can read past the religious undertones.
  11. Sad but inevitable. It's only a matter of time before it happens to some of the bigger clubs in the EPL & Championship.
  12. It's not that they're taught "it's the taking part that counts'. Its that they're really being taught that it's ok to lose. That's really what I'm saying there. That it's ok to be a good loser. That's bollox. I hated to lose in a race - and that happened a bloody lot. I'd be the first to shake hands with the winner and look them in the eye while thinking how I'd beat them next time. We've driven that determination out of several generations. I've seen it happen. The Cryffian dogma is yes its good to take part, and it's good to be part of the whole. But more than that its important to be the best of the best. And the endpoint of that is beating your opponents. Winning. If you want an example of that in any sport in the UK then pick cycling which was a bit of a joke sport and there were only a handful of pros on the continent. Bring in Peter Keen and later his protege Dave Brailsford, and 15yrs later we're now one of the powerhouses of the sport. They've done that pretty much on a budget equivalent to what they paid Capello in pocket money and payoffs. The FA are a national disgrace. Awash with money and inept to boot. And so are Tennis and the LTA... though the womens side show some promise under of all people Andy Murrays mother!
  13. And Liverpool have had to fork out stupid sums for players since they f*&cked up their academy. The number of players they've brought through the system has dwindled. But it's endemic and not just football: Councils sell off their playing fields for housing developments. Kids more intent on chowing down and playing on their xbox. TV quick fix celebrity 'talent' shows. Parents drive their kids 500yards to school in their 4x4s. Sports lessons are 'optional' and we've had years of it's not the winning but taking part that counts crap from the fat arsed social dogooders. Not good enough, pure and simple.
  14. Well done Italy. Really showed up England's strength in depth... or lack of it. As the panel said, at the end of the day we're the 5th, 6th, 7th best team in the competition and no more. While most of the PL teams fill their squads with non-English players and the ones that do come through academies are farmed out to lower division sides this won't change.
  15. Lets get past Italy first folks.. one game at a time! :)
  16. ZZZZZZzzzzzz. Not the most thrilling of games! Pretty football == boring (most of the time).
  17. And Tomorrow. And Sunday!!
  18. Decent refereeing. Know they can't play him like the Italians did to the one a few days ago. Fall over, get up. Nothing doing.
  19. Shame for Croatia. Where's Slavan Bilic going to now? Has he got a job lined up or will Spurs come a sniffin'?
  20. No, seen the replay. First player was level with the defender when fabregas passed. And the scorer was behind the ball when the pass was put in. Onside both times. Looked offside, but replays showed not.
  21. Bloody hell. Have some of ours.!.. we've had no more than a handful of decent days in the last couple of months. Late June and the resevoirs are full!
  22. Shocking pansie of a ref in the Italy v Ireland game. Hope its his last!
  23. Can somebody remind both referees that football is a contact sport! Free kicks for absolutely nothing, and spain & italy are playing the refs. Its like the players have a button in their back that folds their legs when it's pressed. Shameful football
