I know you are entitled to your opinion, but I have to disagree with you. I know that X&Y has made Coldplay fans out of some people I know. And these are people who have pretty high standards for what music they listen to. I think that songs like Square One, Speed Of Sound, Low, and Til Kingdom Come are very original. X&Y is different from their first two albums, which is a good thing, it shows their music is growing. And yet, even tho it's somewhat different, the Coldplay vibe, their unique style, is still evident in the music.
  2. It hasn't really been out "forever." Just a little over a year.

If the other choice is that they are becoming better, then I pick that one. I see really great music ahead for them.
  4. Hmm, if they are the only "youngish" band in the top 10, I think that means they're pretty damn good!
  5. I totally agree with this, I really connect with their lyrics too. Even tho they might not be "logical" I have such a great feeling when listening to them. Like, for instance, the first time I heard Yellow. I didn't even stop to think "what the heck does 'and it was all yellow' mean?" It's like, "oh yeah, yellow! I know exactly what that means!", even tho it makes no sense. You just feel it. Hmm, maybe now I'm not making any sense to you...
  6. Well, I'm almost 26 so I've been at my career for awhile now. :) I work as a paralegal in a law firm. I like what I do, it changes all the time, and I like the people I work with. I also play the organ & piano for my church, so that keeps me busy. I love music, so I really am thankful to have an opportunity to play for people. Now, if I were super rich or something one thing I'd really like to do is take some college courses I'm interested in, and then not have to take the tests or write the papers. In school I always liked taking notes and learning, but God I hate tests and papers!
  7. Oh my, I hope this is supposed to be tonge-in-cheek. Cause if not, it's obvious this guy doesn't appreciate music - lyrics can mean what you want them to mean, and personally, I think stating things abstractly makes a song all the more interesting.
  8. The Beatles.
  9. Isn't it funny how you'll hear just a few notes of a song and immediatly your brain recognizes it as Coldplay? At least, that's how it is with me...like the first second of the song will be on and you know it's them. I think my senses are programmed to their music.
  10. I feel the same as a lot of you guys on here. I'll be watching the new dvd (whenever it comes out) to get by until they tour again. It's funny to think of what my life might be like when that happens - my husband and I are planning on starting a family soon and it's funny to think I could have a baby (or be pregnant) when they tour again. Let's just hope my child isn't ready for kindergarten by the next tour. ;) Seriously tho - they deserve a HUGE rest and some time with their families.
  11. How can one man's eyes be so perfectly blue? They are absolutely mesmorizing. (sp? i am a terrible speller!) If I were to ever meet Chris, I know I'd be staring at his eyes the whole time. :wink3:
  12. Awesome interview! I think they are well on their way to leaving a lasting legacy.
  13. Having a shitty day @ work...these pics have really brightened my mood!! I love these guys soooo much, and a group hug picture is too good to be true. You guys are AMAZING to find these pics..thanks! :D
  14. Anything - but I'm a firm believer in listening to an album in it's entirety..I hate skipping songs, so I love to put in an album on a longer drive and listen to it all the way through.
  15. I can play anything from their 3 albums ( I have the books) on piano, and I LOVE to crank up my stero and play along with Speed of Sound on my acoustic guitar. Sooo much fun! :D
  16. "you don't know how lovely you are" "home, home, where I wanted to go" (hope that's right, that's how I sing it!) "my heart is yours, its you that I hold on to"
  17. The Beatles will always be my favorite, but they lead me to Coldplay.
  18. His drumming always sticks out to me on Low, it's really really good.

I was excited to read that Chris's fav movie is Back to the Future - I'm a huge BTTF nut! :D I think it's rare to find people who really love these movies.
  20. I am such an arm girl! Gah..Chris's arms in these pics - very very nice indeed. :wink3:
  21. Yay! this is great news...I love going out to buy an album the day it comes out, and now I can look forward to getting this one.
  22. You have at least one (usually multiple) songs running through your head every single day! Not that this is always a bad thing :)
  23. So happy to hear the news! I love the name Moses! :) I'm sure they are all beside themselves with happiness...glad the baby is healthy!
