Coldplay =/= U2
Yes exactly. What if U2's next one is a masterpiece? (just like VLVODAAHF :P) Two great Eno-produced albums by 2 great bands in one year. Almost too good to be true.

Historic pictures sent from Mars
Ah, this is so awesome. These pictures show the ground to be flatter and the sand/rocks/debris more fine than i remember from other pictures. I'll need to compare though. But I hope they find some promising evidence of water, and perhaps even primitive bacterial life! These are very exciting times :D

Hi, I hope you don't mind me asking, but can you remember how many songs flowed into each other? Like how the last sound in a song fades off, but its not completely silent when the next song starts? And which songs do you remember having this effect if this is the case? No problem if you can't remember. Oh and just one more little question, do you remember how long the escapist was? Thanks in advance :nice:

The Lowdown
DUDE. This might be the "Flotsam and Jetsam" B-side album. Being released on the 30th June. Dear God. This might be the best discovery of the year.

Coldplay =/= U2
Well I don't know some people here can bash U2 without having listened to their songs, that's preposterous. I'm not a die hard fan, but I've listened to most of their albums and most of them are very good. A slightly different style to Coldplay, but the overall feel of the songs are similar to those on AROBTTH and X&Y. Now I can't do an in depth comparison like Malcom-edge did, because I'm not nearly as knowledgeable about u2 as I am about Coldplay, but comparisons to the former band should really be taken as praise. I also think that the songs on The Joshua Tree match most of the songs on Coldplay's albums, and even their last album wasn't as bad as people made out, i don't think. What I do know though, is that I'm looking forward to U2's new album a lot, even more than Oasis' new disc. I obviously think that Viva should be able to outdo that album, because I generally think Coldplay are slightly better anyway, but I think if they've worked hard on this new one, U2s new album should be pretty spectacular. I'm just not sure how people can take the U2 comparisons that negatively, or even as insults! Being mentioned in the same breath as U2 shows that (perhaps subconsciously) they think Coldplay are a worthy rival to U2. And as people before me have said, U2 are very highly regarded by most critics. To those saying that they don't even want to listen to U2, please go and listen to The Joshua Tree. Then at least you can have a real, founded opinion about them!

^Adobe Audition CS3. But trust me, unless you can find a 5.1 surround sound version of the video, its near impossible.

YES
^I tried deleting the voices for lost!... very difficult, and it didn't sound good at all. And I don't think it will be possible here either.

What Coldplay Songs Make You Nostalgic?
Lovers In Japan gives me that nostalgic feeling sometimes! That one reminds me of the pre-X&Y Coldplay. Songs Like Don't Panic and In My Place really transport feelings of the first time i heard those first 2 albums. So there you go. Oh and Gravity live, I remember first listening to that in a French lesson when we were supposed to be practicing a listening exam through headphones, and I was blown away. Procrastinating in lessons while listening to Coldplay? You bet :P

Viva La Vida Review From Alan Cross(see who he is inside)
Ha! And the "out-of-order-tracklisting" is identical to the order reviewed in the Q article too! How original :rolleyes:

YES
Yeah, thats ultra cool that bit. :D

Viva La Vida Review From Alan Cross(see who he is inside)
Cool! Forgive me for being so skeptical, but it sounds like you've lifted several phrases and descriptions from other sources and reviews. There's almost nothing new here. Its basically a reworded version of Q's article. But thanks for your contribution!

YES
It sounds very intruiging, and very different. I'm really impressed by the variety of songs on the album, and this mixes it up even more. And his voice is very low, lower than I expected, in fact! I didn't even know he could go that deep. And the song itself sounds very sinister, don't you think? I really can't wait for this album.
-
YES
Are you telling me there's Yes playing in the background? Argh! Now I NEED to listen to it, against my will. great :P

I can't wait anymore (Who's with me?)
^It sucks that the facebook mobile thing if dead at the moment, because really thats like the perfect way to alert you when something happens. I hope it sorts itself out soon :nice: Haha, I saw your reply in the addicted thread. Very true. :P But. You can't deny that chelsea away-time or chelsea sleep-time are the best times to stay alert for news :P
-
I can't wait anymore (Who's with me?)
Haha, tell me about it guys... its like I have this impulse to check CPing dot com every day at least 5 times a day, jussssst in case a song or even the whole album has leaked. Either that, or I wait until Chelsea is out for the whole day, because thats when these things usually happen, it seems! :laugh3: Thats like the perfect time to stalk CPing :sneaky: :P

Coldplay on Virgin Radio UK June9th 2008
What!? Is there anywhere I can see this? Even if its fake or whatever, I would love to take a look at that :P

Coldplay on Virgin Radio UK June9th 2008
Yeah, those are some really great questions Chelsea :nice: I really hope they pick one or more of those to answer! I was going to write up some of my own but I'll only be rephrasing what most of you have already said here, so I don't think I'll bother. I'll need to have a good think about it though if I want to come up with some original ones. Anyway, I'll be recording this on that Friday hopefully! :D
