  1. best deceptions - need i say more? several ways to die trying ghost of a good thing all good
  2. they're not corpertate jam... they released an album independantly to be begin with, and it was that album (remember two things) that made RCA want to sign them up. DMB didn't sell out, they just madesure they had wider distribution... and with such distribution, they've donated so much to charity, made thesmelves available for as many good causes as they agree with, helped promote other bands, hell, dave used his status, and ties to help co-create his own label in theus,a to which he signed david gray up to.... But i would put them in jam band myself...they're not rock, they have influences of rock (mostly the drummer with bass) influences of punk (the bass), folk and coutnry and classical (voilin) jazz (sax) etc...a rather eclectic mix... wasn't fond of everyday album myself, but i did like it.

I have loads... 1. Natalie Merchant - My skin Take a look at my body Look at my hands There's so much here that I don't understand Your face-saving promises Whispered like prayers I don't need them Because I've been treated so wrong I've been treated so long As if I'm becoming untouchable Well, contempt loves the silence It thrives in the dark With fine winding tendrils That strangle the heart They say that promises sweeten the blow But I don't need them, no I don't need them I've been treated so wrong I've been treated so long As if I'm becoming untouchable I'm the slow dying flower In the frost killing hour Sweet turning sour anduntouchable Oh, I need the darkness The sweetness The sadness The weakness Oh, I need this I need a lullaby A kiss good night Angel sweet love of my life Oh, I need this I'm the slow dying flower In the frost killing hour Sweet turning sour anduntouchable Do you remember the way that you touched me before All the trembling sweetness I loved and adored Your face-saving promises whispered like prayers I don't need them Oh, I need the darkness The sweetness The sadness The weakness Oh, I need this I need a lullaby A kiss good night Angel sweet love of my life Oh, I need this Well is it dark enough Can you see me Do you want me Can you reach me Oh, I'm leaving You better shut your mouth And hold your breath And kiss me now And catch your death Oh, I mean this Oh, I mean this Michelle Featherstone - Stay If I build a wall a hundred feet tall Would that keep you in If I shackle your feet So you couldn't leave Would you try and run If I promise not to fight Atleast not tonight would you stay the night If i wore that little dress That you like the best Would you pass my test Would you stay Would you stay with me If I poured another drink What would you think About staying in If I was sincere And whispered my fears would you still be here Would you stay? Would you stay with me Would you stay with me... Ben Folds - Evapourated What I've kept with me And what I've thrown away And where the hell I've ended up On this glary random day Were the things I've really cared about Just left along the way For being too pent up and proud Woke up way too late Feeling hungover and old And the sun was shining bright And I walked barefoot down the road Started thinking about my old man Want to get into a car and go anywhere Here I stand, sad and free I can't cry, I can't see What I've done God, what have I done Don't you know I'm numb, man? I can't feel a thing at all Now it's all smiles and business these days I'm indifferent to the loss I have faith that there's a soul somewhere That's leading me around I wonder if she knows Which way is up and which is down I poured my heart out I poured my heart out It evaporated ... see? Blind man at a canyon's edge Of a panoramic scene Or maybe I'm a kite that's flying high and random Dangling a string Or slumped over in a vacant room Head on a stranger's knee I'm sure back home they think I've lost my mind Barenaked Ladies - War on Drugs She likes to sleep with the radio on So she can dream of her favorite song The one that no one has ever sung since she was small She'll never know that she made it up She had a soul and we ate it up Thrown away like a paper cup The music falls The only flaw in her detailed plan Is where she wins back the love of her man Everyone knows that he's never coming back He took her heart and she took his name He couldn't stand taking all the blame He left her only with guilt and shame and then she cracked Won't it be dull when we rid ourselves Of all these demons haunting us To keep us company In the dream I refuse to have She falls asleep in a lukewarm bath We're left to deal with the aftermath again On behalf of humanity I will fight for your sanity How profound such profanity can be Won't it be dull when we rid ourselves Of all these demons haunting us To keep us company Won't it be odd to be happy like we Always thought we're supposed to feel But never seem to be Near where I live there's a viaduct Where people jump when they're out of luck Raining down on the cars and trucks below They've put a net there to catch their fall Like it'll stop anyone at all What they don't know is when nature calls, you go They say that Jesus and mental health Are just for those who can help themselves But what good is that when you live in hell on earth? From the very fear that makes you want to die Is just the same as what keeps you alive It's way more trouble than some suicide is worth Won't it be dull when we rid ourselves Of all these demons haunting us To keep us company Won't it be odd to be happy like we Always thought we're supposed to feel But never seem to be Hard to admit I fought the war on drugs My hands were tied and the phone was bugged Another died and the world just shrugged it off Peter Gabriel - Here Comes The Flood When the night shows the signals grow on radios All the strange things they come and go, as early warnings Stranded starfish have no place to hide still waiting for the swollen Easter tide There's no point in direction we cannot even choose a side. I took the old track the hollow shoulder, across the waters On the tall cliffs they were getting older, sons and daughters The jaded underworld was riding high Waves of steel hurled metal at the sky and as the nail sunk in the cloud, the rain was warm and soaked the crowd. Lord, here comes the flood We'll say goodbye to flesh and blood If again the seas are silent in any still alive It'll be those who gave their island to survive Drink up, dreamers, you're running dry. When the flood calls You have no home, you have no walls In the thunder crash You're a thousand minds, within a flash Don't be afraid to cry at what you see The actors gone, there's only you and me And if we break before the dawn, they'll use up what we used to be. Lord, here comes the flood We'll say goodbye to flesh and blood If again the seas are silent in any still alive It'll be those who gave their island to survive Drink up, dreamers, you're running dry. that'll do for now...ther'es many more..i like sad songs ok :-p
  17. pop rock. they aint actual rock. they're not as bad as some dave fans would have you believe the space between cheers me up attimes, what you are has become an amazing song live, and mother father i love. everyday is just more like the classic dmb tune
  18. mmm Dave....IDOL! Under the table and dreaming is a great debut studio only album from the band. that shows what type of band they are, the type of songs they paly, the way they'll play them, the importance of lyrics that are a little like flowing poetry. Crash went a little more pop rock in a slow evolution. Continues where the revious album elft off, and thenshows the new direction the band has taken, how they've grown, some classic classic songs Before these crowded streets is hailed as THE definative dmb album, with some really complex songs, both musically and lyrically. It has all the brillaince of the previous albums, with a new hint of inspiration thrown in. People think it can only go down from here everyday, yes very poppy. The reason behind it is well documented. The band just had no inspiriation whilst recording "the lillywhite sessions" and thus scrapped that album, and did something more upbeat....it's not great but it's nice enough Busted stuff shows a true return tof orm, with what they learnt during the past few eyars thrown in. And back to it's roots. mmm
  19. they're kind of like athlete...at least that's the sound they seem to give off to me...meh
  20. *has been using dc for gigs for ages, bit torrent isn't as wide as this yet...but both have their place* be careful, many of these places will only allow shn's to be shared, mp3 versions of the gig will mostly result in a ban from that room
  21. i know about the 3 day festival my friend...i am somewhat obsessed, never seen them, chances are very slim as they havent been to my coutnry since 2001, just after i started liking them but before i got obsessed. damn them..well it was only Dave at the time
  22. but busted rock! if the darkness are hailed so greatly then busted should be...to me there are just one and the same. infact..i kinda think busted are what the darkness were when they were teenagers. scary no?
  23. hmm...i wonder if you're on a dave board...minarets. nancies?the bridge? ants? dave boards are quite harsh, they all think they're the brightest person their and that their opinion counts..of course only mine does :p Love dave...BTCS is perhaps the ebst album, because it was the combination of previous efforts, with an added energy, and a side serving of depressive slants mixind with melodies and good fun and voila...a great album. Lyrically wonderful, musically ecclectic. love it fave song..hmm...depends on my mood. sometimes Dancing nancies (central park n red rocks have great versions but not sure if it betters tyhe studio version) erm, ants marching i love (live) erm..proudest monkey, bartender, crush, drive in and drive out, minarets (acoustic only though) etc as i said..it depends
  24. the darkness in rock act....now we really know mtv has polluted the minds of millions
