Tennis Player Serena Williams doesn't see Green Day warming up for Coldplay
Here is the relevant extract of the interview: Q. They billed this as Nadal as the warmup act for your match. How does that make you feel? SERENA WILLIAMS: Really? That's pretty awesome. I'm excited about that. That's cool. I'm really happy to be here. That makes it even better. Q. It's like Coldplay warming up for Green Day. SERENA WILLIAMS: I could see that. Yeah, I would never see Green Day warming up for Coldplay. The guy who wrote the article said the following about the quote: The bit about Coldplay and Green Day is a little confusing — I think maybe the interviewer is saying the bands are equally famous, albeit different. Williams, however, seems to think Green Day is the bigger deal — and in this, at least, I agree with her. Of course she did. I guess one of her jobs is to keep mystery surrounding everything related to the band. Thus. don't expect major news from her, since she was never created for such purpose.

Willie Nelson covers Coldplay's The Scientist for Chipotle Foundation
[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aMfSGt6rHos&feature=player_embedded]Back to the Start - YouTube[/ame] A new animated video shows the merits of sustainable farming with some cute visuals and a Willie Nelson cover of Coldplay’s “The Scientist.” The video, called “Back to the Start,” tells the story of an adorable farmer who turns his organic farm into a huge factory farm only to realize the error of his ways. The message: Industry and science are hurting the animals and food that we eat. Chipotle sponsored the video to show the importance of sustainable food and also to emphasize its focus on natural, organic products in its restaurants. The video will appear in movie theaters, and the cover song will also be sold in iTunes with $0.60 of each download going to the Chipotle Cultivate Foundation, which supports sustainable agriculture and education. Coldplay’s original video for “The Scientist” showed (spoiler alert) a man grieving after his girlfriend is killed in a car crash, with the video played in reverse. “Back to the Start” takes the same concept of reversing time. It’s not a perfect fit, but Nelson, a long-time family farm advocate, makes it work. What do you think of awareness campaigns like this? Let us know in the comments. Who knows? Maybe they decide to release the track list just a little bit before the release of Paradise.

Anticipation
The boys have been very very quiet after the announcement. I guess they are taking some days off, because once they start doing the festivals again in a couple of weeks, and release Paradise, they will start the album promotion with no rest. Thus, I guess that we have to wait a couple of weeks guys and afterwards, we will be hearing a lot from the boys until the release of Mylo Xyloto.

Coldplay, CinemaNX to Produce Film Noir 'Ashes'
Coldplay to finance new Brit film By Vicky Allison Aug 24, 2011, 22:15 GMT Coldplay are putting up the cash for a new British film that is being shot on the Isle of Man, according to reports. Ashes, which is being directed by Mat Whitecross, stars British actors Jim Sturgess and Ray Winstone. The band’s members – Chris Martin, Jonny Buckland, Guy Berryman, and Will Champion – will all act as executive producers on the upcoming flick. Sturgess, who is currently starring in new movie One Day, revealed that the group’s lead singer Martin has yet to visit the set. According to BBC Newsbeat, the 30-year-old actor said: 'He didn't. No, they were away being Coldplay. We were filming on the Isle of Man, so he had other things to do. 'It was amazing those guys helped us out with that film. I'm really proud of the film.' The Drums' Jonny Pierce: I Hate U2 And Coldplay
He slams both band's political opinions... August 24, 2011 by Jason Gregory The Drums frontman Jonny Pierce has said he hates bands like U2 and Coldplay because they dabble with politics. In an interview with Q, Pierce said he was not very political and that he had no plans to impose his opinions on the band's fans. “It's really boring to me. I hate U2 and Coldplay, bands that can't be bands for the life of them. They can't just write great songs, they have to be doing other stuff, a statement all the time,” he said. “I don't mind certain statements, but U2 haven't released a good record in ten years, why don't they just run for office? [laughs] Just write me a great love song, that's all I want!" The Drums are currently preparing for the release of their new album 'Portamento', due out on September 12. Noel Gallagher a fan of Coldplay's new material
Noel salutes Coldplay He calls their Glasto headline slot the 'gig of their lives' 23/08/11 Sinead Garvan Noel Gallagher says Chris Martin and his band's headline slot at this year's Glastonbury was one of their best. Speaking to 6 Music's Steve Lamacq, he said: "I got half way through it and said to the missus, 'They are having the gig of their lives here'. "It was pretty spectacular and the way they lit up the pyramid on the Pyramid Stage, that means no one else can ever do it now." Noel's comments about Jay-Z and Glastonbury a few years back meant some assumed he was no longer a fan of the festival but nothing could be further from the truth: "Glastonbury is a one off, the rest of the festivals with all the best will in the world are just big gigs in fields," according to Noel. "Glastonbury is a festival in the truest sense, the music is secondary to your festival experience, you could go there for 3 days and not see one single band and have a great time." Noel and his High Flying Birds are on tour this October, having just added three extra dates. Unlike Beady Eye, he will be playing Oasis songs: "There's only 10 tracks on the album. That's only 42 minutes, so I don't have enough material to not do Oasis songs," he explained. "I don't really see them as Oasis songs now, I wrote those songs myself, they are my songs." However, there are a number of Oasis tracks that you won't be hearing at his solo gigs: "I couldn't do Supersonic, Rock n Roll star or Cigarettes and Alcohol or Champagne Supernova or Lila. Noel continued: "The more rock ones I would never attempt to do because Liam had such a great rock voice, that is a shame those songs will never be heard for the foreseeable future. "I think it's sad because they were great stadium anthems but we've all got to move on, I might do a jazz fusion version of them." Noel also told Lammo plenty of offers were on the table after Oasis split up for Noel to write his autobiography: "I went for a few meetings with people out of politeness who were offering me silly amounts of money," he explained. "I didn't want to write about my life in Oasis because my life with the Inspiral Carpets was equally as valid. It's all part of the story and the story ain't finished yet. "You can't write an autobiography at 44. What happens to me in the next 15 years is going to be equally as interesting." You can listen to Steve Lamacq's full interview with Noel Gallagher here.
