  1. :laugh3:Looks like Somebody had fun!! How was the turkey with whipping cream??:P
  2. :laugh3: (I probably shouldn't laugh), but I can relate to that - "hello, I'm from Bangalore, India, and I'm calling about your current service."- but on the other hand, if I had to speak the native tongue of that part of India, I would surely by laughed at much more heartily! I'm not terrified of calling people up.
  3.:)Cheer up! It gets better - the brain is like a muscle - it takes some flexing it to make it stronger!! I was reading the wiki on Taliban - trying to understand the roots of what goes wrong.
  4. Maybe it has something to do with the security of anonymity, and fear of the unfamiliar? It uses different parts of the brain, so maybe that's part of it too??
  5.:laugh3: And so how do you explain his Wife Ali?
  6. :jester:Hello Jasmina from Croatia!!:hat:
  7. True. Security needs to be improved, no doubt this will provide the impetus for it.
  8. Hmm.. maybe too much egg, or a really dull pumpkin, it sounds like to me. You should always try looking for the Great Pumpkin, Sally.:P;)
  9. :laugh3:My heat bleeds for you, Ian. Truly, I understand. When you get all those bankers' holidays I've heard about, and we're busy slaving away in this leaky ship of an economy (or gnawing on the timbers, hoping for an opportunity), I will think of you!:P Nah, but that's too harsh. I am thankful for all my friends, for my ma, for a few special people in my life, for all the good things everyone does to make everything happen - it's truly an amazing world we live in, and how often I forget that. Thanks everyone!
  10. :laugh3:All I can think is that we act the age we'd like to act; maturity is good when appropriate, but as someone once said to me, "all work and no play makes johnny a dull boy." Now the question I have to ask, is Ian Cheddar or something else? To Jay: I was about the same growing up as well! There's a song about that - some lyrics went - "I was older then, and I'm much younger than that now.." Beatles? Can't recall exactly.
  11. What was I thinking now... Gosh, I think the thought just went into the ether! Oh, it was something about proportion - "to get things into proportion, and spread the news.." - part of an old YES tune... And something else too - lost it.:P
  12. :laugh3:Now does that sound traditional?:P Bread Pudding maybe, or plum sauce, or squash pie, or cranberries, and others. It's supposed to be a harvest feast, celebrating the peace and harmony between peoples - so it should be something related to the harvest, and the more local, the better.:smug:
  13. Bummer! You need to go back in time, change history, make peace, come back, and celebrate a feast between the Celtic tribes, and the Angles, Saxons, and Jutes!:) Not tasting the pumpkin - that can be a blessing in disguise!:P (actually though it can be good - if the pumpkin is really good, the spices just right, or you use squash instead. I've had the canned pumpkin, and thought it was rather bland - new england pie pumpkins are much better, and fresh is best.;)
  14. Here's something interesting - how credit cards were part of the financial meltdown that almost caused a second great depression!FRONTLINE: home | PBS In America, banks keep poor people poor by enticing them in, and then clubbing them hard. And if there's any doubt of the need for campaign finance reform (getting the so-called commercial banks and the rest from contributing handsomely to politicians campaigns), this should seal the case. I've gotta laugh when a politician gets asked whether or not the credit card company's contribution had any effect on our ability to regulate the "industry" - what a joke! Like, what were they expecting - a piece of cake from the cafeteria?!
  15. Welcome Brasilian ellendianelopo from Goiania, Goias Brazil!:joker:
  16. Hmm.. favorite animal? Bumblebee.:flutterby: (they really need a bee smiley!)
  17. I have to say the same - they're both concise, and to the point.;) But what I was thinking was wayy more than anyone would ever want to listen to..:laugh3:
  18. Don't ride the white horse! Choose Beer - the cause and the cure of all of life's problems!:laugh3:
  19. Balance REM sleep with non-REM sleep better to ward off depression.:) (somewhere there's a link..):thinking:NOVA | PBS
  20. Predates my memory! Good quote, great understanding. As I was thinking about the world we live in - let's face it, any of us that has this kind of access to a computer isn't a member of the 3 billion club - the 3 billion, that is, who live on $2.00 a day or less. Lots of homeless people, and this song came to mind: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DfZqXLnBYb4]YouTube - another day in paradise[/ame]
  21. Decades of High Speed. That would either induce a trance-like state, or a coma-like state in time...
  22. :rolleyes:Tell the truth now! I know how you Canadians are! Assumes I assume things.:P
  23. That, or it was just put up on the screen to make us all feel better!:laugh3: But perhaps understanding the root causes of some of our social problems will produce real results in time..
  24. Anti-trust laws might break them up (I would hope!). At least before we all get Google-ized! I can see it now, "One Globe, Under Google, with Searches and Servers for all!":P
