Flamingo Drive - sounds like Miami... or maybe Las Vegas?

What are you thinking right now?
I was thinking how the arrogant often given cruel orders, play power games, feel nothing for those who suffer horribly from those orders, and at worst they get some minor reprimand for the atrocities they commit. Why the hell is that? Just finished watching Link TV on General Smith's order to massacre anyone over the age of 10 in the Philippines back in 1908, and Teddy Roosevelt's war-hawkish ways.. What a tragedy in human events..

Who Gets U.S. Foreign Aid
Well, at least we give them all the money to buy our weapons, so it all comes back (in one form or another)!:P And of course, arm the hard-liners; we wouldn't want the weapons in the hands of the citizens - they might use them to replace their governments with ones that actually serve the will of the people! That could lead to Democracy, or worse!:laugh3: Gosh, imagine if we just offered real assistance when asked to help the needy in the world.. things like mosquito netting, medicines for diseases, water pumps, and a fair deal on trade - seems like a better route than creating the conditions for disparity that only leads to extremism.. But hey, whadda I know, right? Unfortunately, our industries make the biggest cash on the big ticket items - tanks have a huge mark-up, along with those nifty guidance systems. Let's see someone try and rip the taxpayers off to the tune of billions for mosquito nets! (all jokes aside, it looks a lot like runaway megacorps, and a corporate imperial state we're in..)

Maybe Bono really does need the help then?? I shouldn't have brushed him off then.. hmm.. well, Allison likes me, so maybe there's a chance he'll forgive my lack of enthusiasm..

Shine On
Actually it's quite good! Of the selection, I liked "stuck in the middle" best, and the ideas you express have a resonant quality within how I'm feeling - how slow is the pace of real, meaningful change is in this world

Chris Martin: Did I say that?
I like the one quote, where Chris got done performing to an audience of 100,000, and came back home where he was scolded for leaving the milk out!:laugh3: Funny how some things never change; but who would want it any differently?;)

I'm trying to piece together why things are the way they are. Is it from multi-national corporations skipping from country to country, always looking for the lowest price labor, or is it from an excessive debt burden, or internal corruption, or too much government bureaucracy, or all of the above? Which factor is the most influential?? Problems we have are pretty significant widening gap between the workers and the owners, which is a serious matter, and the unstable economy.. with corruption as well; I am an advocate for fairness in all matters, and economic matters especially so. What would make a real difference?

Random Coldplay thoughts...
DC's the pace to be on the 20th!! YAY!!!!:):):):):):):):):):):):):):) I'm sure the secret service will be ready & then some... most Presidents face dangers when they do something unexpected - like stepping out into the crowd (Reagan) or driving in an open convertible through Dallas... Other than that, there's tight security and little danger. Anyhow, maybe DC would be filled beyond capacity (as it sounds!)..

Hi from a new member
Glad you could join our merry troupe stingemrays13!:) And I'm very gladdened that you enjoy learning the piano versions; although not quite the originals, they are fun nonetheless to learn.. (just a note: on what synthesizers add to these pieces - automatic accompaniments and all. Sometimes it's worth it to de-construct the originals, and get a better "feel" for their truer structure and sounds). So, where are you from, and what's you're name??

The Food Thread! (what's on your mind today?)
Polenta! First time I had polenta was about a year ago - someone offered a bag of pre-mixed polenta, and it's interesting and good (lest to me it was)! Reminds me of farina that I had as a kid - although spicier.. Do you make it with anything, or what's the way of serving it?? Here. we just cooked it like porridge, and served it with butter.. And do you see a lot of pizzas with sardines? I had one once with the tiny fishes, and I thought it was good, but the sardines are a bit too salty for my tastes. Do you like sardines?? (I'm guessing it's a southern Italy thing..):)
