  1. Have fun, and always remember: Where ever you go in the universe, always bring a towel.:laugh3:
  2. @@@@@@@@@@ 1. Met Chris at a mall. We chatted, and he said he was with a band called Coldplay. & I thought to myself, "he's a very nice fellow, & I like his support of Fair Trade, sustainable forests, and the other causes he had interests in as well.. He must be in some type of acoustical or folk band, which seems like a natural fit for someone on those wavelengths." 2. I have never seen the band in concert live, but maybe someday I will! 3. a. They all appeal to me - I cannot select a favorite album b. Favorite Song? That varies, depending on the mood I'm in! c. We live in a beautiful world was interesting, as was Trouble. But some of the live concerts were great, and the acoustical sessions really struck a chord as well. 4. Most Treasured Item? A Memory! 5. Craziest Moment? Well, it was the moment I realized... the song I was hearing on the radio... I'll just say I recognized it, and was very surprised, as well as pleased.
  3. Well, Ms. Hotplay007, just like Mitch ©, if you were the first Indya, then you have first dibs at copyrighting your name! Yes, that's right - in an ownership society, everyone has to own something. I've chosen to buy up the bandwith for the colour Violet, leaving open most of the spectrum for anyone else, minus the stuff already bought up.. Hey,and while we're at it, has anyone decided to patent Plutonium? It's man-made, and therefore I think patentable. Of course, as with any patent, you have to supply a working model for the examiners..:P
  4. A letter to a more sensible congressman: Dear Steve, I am growing concerned about Senator Obama's advisers on foreign relations. We are often affected by the company we keep*. Without a balance of opinions, that company can sway our world views in ways that could again be damaging to both the U.S., and to the Citizens of the World. If you have any contact with Senator Obama, I would very much appreciate if you would gently whisper into Barack's ear, suggesting that he seek a better balance in his set of advisers; so that reflective, compassionate and carefully chosen ones are there to balance those with more aggressive tendencies. With Genuine Old-Fashioned Sincerity, Your Friend, -Chuck. *(see Shakespear's MacBeth for further edification)
  5. Graham crackers... All I have to say to that Jay, is: "My Pet Goat"!:laugh3: You're overestimating them quite a bit.. Read the Constitution?! But that would mean they would have to follow it then!! And while it was written for anyone to understand, you can't just expect all those Constitutional "experts" to just pack up and leave!?! How would we be able to invert it's meaning so often, and come up with all sorts of baloney never intended by our Constitution?! Actually, electing a randomly selected 12-year-old might be our best option. They would do much better than our current occupant/occupier, and haven't yet developed the myopia that comes with age.. It's no surprise that Coldplay chose 42; since the Bush's are either 41 or 43, both very odd numbers!:laugh3:
  6. Wow, I love the diversity of things going on here! At present, I am writing my Congressman Steve Kagen, asking him to whisper into Obama's ear.. "psst. Hey, balance your advisers; remember what happened to good ol' King MacBeth?":stunned:;) Please, if you want to see less unhappiness in the world, I highly recommend doing the same. Obama's just like the rest of us, and if we were pummeled with advice that's less than balanced, we'd probably make some very unfortunate decisions as well!! Let's pre-empt the pre-empters.;);)
  7. Fantastic! I'm glad you've got a field that you most enjoy, and I wish you all the best in pursuit of your goals in life!! Wow, photography is quite the art, science, and technology field to be in! The way things are going, no doubt you will be studying digital technologies, or are you more interested in the artistic end of things? Either way, a most fascinating and fun area to be into! Scanning tunneling electron microscopy images were so cool when they first came out - I haven't kept up with the field, but by now, the images can be formed at slightly different angles, to form 3 dimensional images of molecules. Really neat to actually "see" what we could only imagine in the past!! (still, it took a lot of imagination and perspiration to be able to see those enzymes and such..) It really "opened up my eyes"! Perhaps the next big leap (if we're not already there) will be refinement of 3-dimensional holographic images that actually "look" very real - and all the technologies that make it all possible - the nuts and bolts part of things are equally as important as the final product. I haven't seen the new U2 3-D movie; how is the imaging?? OOPS! Got to rambling there a bit.. Anyhow, whichever path you choose, have fun with it, and keep looking forward to tomorrow!!;)
  8. The simple things are best in life. What made me happy today? Getting to spend time with my cousins visiting from California, and knowing they made it safely out of the regions that are on fire.:)
  9. Yes hrobert, I agree - those translators give the most bizarre results!:laugh3: I even tried translating from English to Hungarian and then back to English - wow, it's scrambled! Age: 41.5 Earth Years Old Study: I like to let my mind wander; everything from carbon nanotubes to catalytic chemistry, and from crustal elements to green technologies. Work: I do a variety of things; minor construction projects (roof rebuilding, building restructuring, painting, trim work, etc.), yard maintenance, furniture repair, etc. What is your life like in Hungary?
  10. How did you get the name Indya - really?! And how did the other Idya in Texarkana?
  11. Lord Farquahr?? I missed the context - something to do with coronation?
  12. Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday Dear Lore, Happy Birthday to You!!:sunny::daisy:

" There is a theory which states that if ever anyone discovers exactly what the universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear, and be replaced by something even more bizzare and inexplicable. There is another theory which states that this has already happened." The Restaurant at the end of the Universe; Douglas Adams
  14. The guitar, drum, and piano parts are just perfect!
  15. I'll be the secret member then.:sneaky:
  16. You're from Georgia - the country of Georgia, correct? I can only imagine what it's like to live there! I'll listen - too far away to do much else, but I'll gladly listen!;) I'm continuing to contact House Members - hoping to get them to put pressure on our next Pres., so that we have a more sane and stable foreign policy..;);)
  17. Violet probably doesn't even know her bell is missing!:P Anyhow, random thought of the day for Coldplay: here's hoping our next Pres. doesn't just become another puppet on a lonely string! "Oh, who would ever want to be King.." ..Though, he probably won't ever be like George, but I fear he's slipping toward the hawks.
  18. I must go water and weed the garden.. "Got to get ourselves back to the garden... by the time we got to Woodstock, we were half a million strong..":)

" I think the problem is that the question was too broadly based.. " " Forty Two!", yelled Loonquawl. "Is that all you've got to show for seven and a half million years' work?":laugh3: credit to Douglas Adams.. But 42 also makes a nice mathematical pseudo-palindrome, : 4224, or 2442. It just looks nice, given the even-ness of the numbers 4 and 2, both quite elegant.
  20. Translation & Dance Hello Sylvia! I tried one of the free translators on the net, and whatever you are saying, it's coming across as all funny!:laugh3: Keep dancing to the Strawberry Swing in the month of June & July, and enjoy the show!!;)
  21. ^^Bart, that's so cool! That's gotta be really, really rare! Here, we did have snow once in June, and once in July even.. but those are very rare as well!! So, you're special because the Weather Gods recognized you as important!:smug: I was born on election day here in the US.
  22. How can that be??? I'm thinking that the list must be a little short; either that, or you need to become the one who makes the hits, and gets famous, so then there is a birthday of a famous musical artist on that date!
  23. :rolleyes:OOPS! When a bad idea gets rolling... IIEEEE!:stunned: But what if she's got a huge loan, and you'll inherit all her debt? Hmm? What then , Daffy??:laugh3:
  24. chuck kottke replied to iPsy's topic in Coldplay
42 just works out nicely for all sorts of things. Maybe it really is special! In base 42, it's a perfect 10:laugh3:.
