I was watching Lost last night, and (I dunno if you watch?!) but Desmond, who's Scottish, was visiting Cambridge, wearing a nice jacket, cool shades, and a funky SCARF. I thought to myself--do alllll British men wear cool scarves now?!?!:bomb: Or maybe I'm just not so fashion-conscious and American men do it as well, but none that I've noticed around me...then again those around me are not on "best dressed" lists :rolleyes: :smug::P :kiss:

it's worth a shot! and even as bad as economy is, i'm suuure that there's gotta be something out there! especially entry level stuff, since ppl getting fired who've been working for yrs are not gonna wanna go back to beginning, you know. (crossing fingers&toes&eyes for you!)

Through the temp? Not long. But i got lucky, 'cause the very first company i worked for, they needed someone for a while, not just a few weeks, so I was there like 3months. Usually temp agencies will hook you up with places that need some help for a few weeks at a time...then you move on to the next place they find for you...unless that company is hiring through a temp w/ an option to keep you if they need permanent help. And if you're looking through Monster or HotJobs or one of those(at least the last time I looked, which was a few yrs ago)most of the jobs listed are through agencies. Especially for office/administrative type things. The thing that sucks it's that they don't pay as much as if you were working directly for that company, but it's better than nothing!(and maybe better than smelling like burgers at the end of the day!:P)

I'm sorry!!!!:shame: but I also gotta do what I gotta do to get my butt to Wembley!!!:D so, hey...if you previously worked in an office...you got those basic "office" skills, right? what about trying a temp agency. my previous job (not lab, office-type)i got because i started off working there as a temp, then months later they had a position open and remembered me. have you tried that route?!?!

Pris, I thought you knew I was Spanish, and I speak it well, if not perfect from being out of practice--I mostly speak English with my Mom, only my Dad I speak only Spanish. It just doesn't flow as well from me as English. I'm always..."como se dice???" like I always forget the most important word I need hehe. And since I like to speak quickly, I get tongue-tied in Spanish sometimes.:blush: Anyway....girls, I reeeally gotta go. That butterfly story is so great!:dance: I had a butterfly in my wallet (somebody sent it to me:nice:), but I lost it the other day:cry:, it must've fallen out! I wonder if that's what happened with this butterfly you found?!? RE: jaffa cakes...I've heard them mentioned many times, always wondering what they are...and now that I see that pic with PIM's...I think I actually have seen them in my local supermarket! Next time I'm gonna get some:D
