i don't think there is any one single right way to listen to anything. it's how you interprete the lyrics and the music, so basically everything. a lot of music i listen to is pretty abstract and hardly ever says what it means straight up. like what clocks or street spirit means to you most likely means something completely different to me, but who is to say you are right and i am wrong and vice versa. music is all about interpretation, to me atleast. there is no single right definition. but i know what you mean annie! btw i see you're listening to mew - great!

oh god how i wish i was at a concert of their's right now. ... what happens if they retire before i get to see them? what on earth will i do then? no no no, definitely must see them before i die or before they retire. yep! it's a definite deal.

'let me guess...."mom" ' :lol: anyway, when i was 7 or something, i was playing chasey with all these other kids, and they all started running into a room and when i reached the door, they shut it and without thinking, i put my fingers at the hinge of the door and it slammed shut! i shrieked and yelled like there was no tomorrow. my litle and ring finger had to be stitched back together (my little finger was literlly hanging on by skin!) anyway, now i have a scar which is pretty groovey, and i can move all my knuckles as though they are piano keys ;) oh and i was also bitten by a bulldog which i grabbed from behind. not very smart.

they have all sigur ros albums here too, but that's because they are well known in relation to mew. they only had atghk, so i had to order frengers from overseas and wait somewhere between 4-8 weeks! that's was hella frustrating .... but well worth the wait! hope yours arrives soon! :nice:

ohoh, i ordered mine in late sept and got it on xmas eve. best present! i constantly listen to it!

before the cp concert in june, i constantly had dreams of missing the concert. that i was late; forgot the tickets; lost the tickets; had nothing to wear; was refused entry etc. terrifying dreams i tell you! i must've had 4 dreams were i missed it. anyway, before the concert, i had planned on getting to the centre really early as to be the first in line etc, but in this dream i arrived an hour before the concert and it was already packed. i was devastated. the lines were ridiculously long (of course in dreams they are exaggerated to the point of unbelieveble) anyway, i was really sad and getting all depressed-like when i got to the gates and the ticket guy told me to "come with him" so i followed him backstage straight to chris, guy, jonny and will. whoa, this dream was so good i knew i was dreaming. anyway LONG dream short, i somehow became the 5th member of coldplay. it was so weird because i can't sing or play an instrument as well as any of them so i didn't get what i was doing in the band. anyway, they told me to go home and get changed and ready to perform, so i rushed home and ... yeah ... couldn't find anything to wear. then i woke up. i lay there thinking how much better or worse the dream could of got had i not woken up, so naturally i tried going to sleep again and forcing the concert to take place, but it was a sad attempt lol. the end.

i'm 20 and i'm moving out in february for uni in the city. i'll be staying with 2 of my sisters so it's gonna be great. it's very unsettling moving away from my parents for the first time, but it has to happen eventually. if the uni was much closer to their house, i doubt i'd move out for a couple of years yet.

yeah, bloody hell. i just opened this thread and already i'm getting depressed :\ i don't think it's a question of whether our parents are good enough for us to consider wanting someone like them. we all have different experiences/backgrounds etc that make us want/avoid certain characteristics in our [potential] partner. i can't even begin to explain what i want in a partner without falling into a circle of contradictions. it's complicated, like everything i guess. i love and admire my parents, and my dad has a lot of qualities i like, not everything, but that is not to say my dad isn't good enough. he is perfect for my mum.

^^ nice going annie, i bought takk a few months ago and i'll be buying () next week. frosebitepanda (sp?) uploaded the entire album for me and it's wonderful.

whoa, nelly! is by far her best album the 2nd one was ? and this one, to be honest at first i was so disappointed. i thought she lost her uniqueness and became all hollywood-ish, but after buying it (mainly because of all good things co-written by chris martin etc) and listening to the tracks, it's not half bad. in fact, it's pretty good in general. i gave it a 2 before, but now it's up to a 7. from folklore, try and childhood dreams (is that it?) are definitely nice songs!

i just finished wuthering heights. i haven't really a comment on it yet besides it's very interesting. the only thing i hate is the family tree placed in front of the book along with the dates etc. it kinda ruined it for me but i can definitely see the appeal of the novel.
