  1. don't need to get that deep, Chris was a huge fan of Pharrell's song Happy, and what better exemplifies the word Happy than a Smiley Face? keping it simple and just wearing how he feels
  2. I def think Flo, what about Queen or AC/DC?
  3. Not feeling so old right now http://www.musicbusinessworldwide.com/forever-young-average-age-todays-biggest-pop-stars-38/ [h=1]Forever young? The average age of today’s biggest pop stars is 38[/h] Though pop was music made for teenagers, by teenagers? Not anymore: the average age of the ten best-selling recorded music artists of 2014 was 38-years-old. They included young whippersnappers such as Pink Floyd, AC/DC and Michael Jackson. At a tender 25-years-old, all-conquering Taylor Swift was the world’s No.1 commercial artist of 2014, according to the IFPI Global Recording Artist Chart for last year. The rankings were determined by a weighted combination of album and single-track consumption across physical, digital and streaming formats. As such, Swift has been named the IFPI’s Global Recording Artist of 2014, receiving the annual award from the organisation’s CEO Frances Moore (pictured). Released in October, the artist’s record-breaking fifth studio album, 1989, sold more than 1.2m copies in its first week alone. She was followed in No.2 by One Direction, signed to Syco/Sony Music, who released their fourth studio album FOUR in November. It secured them the historic achievement of being the first band to have all their first four studio albums debut at the top of the US charts. Elsewhere in the IFPI Chart, though, there were a few slightly less youthful faces. Coldplay, with an average age of 37, were the fourth biggest-selling act of 2014 while AC/DC, with an average age of 60, were at No.5. The Aussie rockers released their 16th studio album, Rock Or Bust in 2014, which topped the charts in Australia, Germany, Sweden and Canada. Below them at No.6 was the sadly departed Michael Jackson, who would have been 56 last year, and Pink Floyd – whose current average age stands at 70 – were at No.7. The seminal UK group issued their 15th and final ‘studio’ album The Endless River in November; the most pre-ordered album of all time on Amazon in the UK. Those keeping up the contribution for the youngsters on the IFPI Chart included a trio of Brits: One Direction (average age: 22) at No.2, Ed Sheeran (24) at No.3 and Sam Smith (22), the youngest solo star on the list, at No.8. Rounding off the Top 10 were Katy Perry (30) and Beyonce (33). Frances Moore, chief executive of IFPI, says: “Congratulations to Taylor Swift who has been named the IFPI Global Recording Artist of 2014. She merits this result as she is a hardworking and talented performer who has an amazing ability to connect with audiences worldwide. “This IFPI award reflects the global popularity of recording artists across the diverse ways in which fans choose to listen to music today.” [h=4]The IFPI Global Recording Artist Chart 2014[/h] Taylor Swift One Direction Ed Sheeran Coldplay AC/DC Michael Jackson Pink Floyd Sam Smith Katy Perry Beyoncé

But the Man in Black was no slouch when it came to writing love letters either. A 1994 note he penned for his wife and musical partner June Carter Cash on her 65th birthday was recently named the greatest love letter of all time in a poll conducted by the British life insurance company Beagle Street. You can read his heartfelt words below: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2015/02/12/johnny-cash-love-letter-june-cash_n_6673450.html

  12. What songs do you think of on Valentine's Day for your loved one? What's on your playlist for the day of Love? http://www.independent.co.uk/life-style/gadgets-and-tech/news/valentines-day-2015-from-the-xx-to-coldplay-spotifys-most-popular-sex-songs-10044329.html Valentine’s Day 2015: from The xx to Coldplay, Spotify’s most popular sex songs Chris Martin performs live with Coldplay, the band behind Spotify's fourth sexiest song 1 / 1 × Spotify has picked through the 2.5 million “sex” playlists on the service to find what its users listen to when getting down to it. <iframe src="https://embed.spotify.com/?uri=spotify:user:spotifyusa:playlist:22QqzwS6ELXYNCVoCZMjto" frameborder="0" allowtransparency="true" width="300" height="380"></iframe> The most popular song to feature in playlists with the word sex in the name is ‘Intro’ by The xx. The stripped down instrumental was the first track on the band’s 2009 debut album. Most of the other songs in the list are of a similar genre, made up of fairly slow tempo, stripped down songs with a focus on rhythm and bass. While most are by indie bands — Coldplay and The 1975 also appear in the list — they still tend towards trip hop, almost ambient songs. Much of the rest of the playlist is made up of electronic musicians, including Chet Faker and Disclosure. Spotify has assembled all of the top ten sex songs into a playlist, which can be downloaded ready for Valentine’s Day. http://open.spotify.com/user/spotifyusa/playlist/22QqzwS6ELXYNCVoCZMjto Sex playlists are more often created by men, who have made 56% of the 2.5 million on the service. The company also looked for the most popular songs featured in “love” playlists, of which there are 28 million. John Legend’s ‘All Of Me’, which has been streamed more than 260 million times on Spotify, tped that list. The rest was made up of popular love-themed songs including Rihanna’s ‘Stay’, Justin Timberlake’s ‘Not A Bad Thing’ and Beyoncé’s ‘Drunk In Love’. As with the sex playlist, the company has put its top ten into one easy playlist. That might be used to quickly create Valentine’s playlists, of which there are already 700,000 on the service.
  13. Global Citizen and Chris Martin Announce Global Citizen 2015 13 February 2015 4:56 pm Campaign to Bring Global Citizen Events around the World for the Next 15 YearsGood afternoon. We're pleased to announce that, in continuing the movement to end extreme poverty by 2030, Global Citizen and Chris Martin, today announced Global Citizen 2015, a new 15-year campaign to ensure the upcoming United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are achieved. Building on the success of the annual Global Citizen Festival in New York City’s Central Park, Global Citizen and Chris will stage the Global Citizen Festival in different countries around the world for the next 15 years. These Festivals will bring together global leaders, world-renowned artists and socially-conscious global citizens to track the progress and success of the SDGs. Chris will act as the Festival’s curator over the full 15 years. The headliners for this year’s Festival will be announced later this year. 2015 is a pivotal year for the movement to end extreme poverty by 2030. This year marks the expiration of the United Nations’ Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and the creation of the SDGs, the world’s ‘to do’ list to address poverty, inequality and environmental sustainability. To ensure these new goals are successful, Global Citizen will work to bring millions of new people into the fight to end extreme poverty, giving them information and avenues for action. In the lead-up to the United Nations General Assembly this September, Global Citizen 2015 events will include: • Global Citizen 2015 Earth Day, National Mall, Washington D.C., USA, April 18, 2015, in partnership with Earth Day Network • Global Citizen G7 Summit Event, Bavaria, Germany, June 7, 2015 • 2015 Global Citizen Festival, Central Park, New York, USA, Sept 26, 2015, produced by Emmy Award-winning producer Ken Ehrlich. Said Hugh Evans, CEO of The Global Poverty Project, “2015 is a pivotal year to change the future of our people and our planet. In the last 15 years, the world has cut the rate of extreme poverty in half, reached an additional 50 million children with an education, and halved child deaths. But there is still a lot of work to be done. Beginning this year, global citizens will hold our world leaders accountable to the SDGs so that we can see an end to extreme poverty in the next 15 years.” On the partnership, Chris said, "I, and we as a band, are so excited to be working with Global Citizen. They are passionate about putting equality, fairness and compassion into the world, and improving the quality of life for millions of people around the world whose needs are sometimes overlooked. We are joining their cause because we believe in it, and in them, very much." This article is dated Feb 11, but is sounds like it was written before the Grammy Awards http://www.movienewsguide.com/musicians-pays-tribute-to-becks-album-watch-video/52237 Musicians Pay Tribute to Beck’s Album Several musical acts are going to YouTube to pay tribute to the musician and his album “Morning Phase,” which is nominated for Album of the Year in the Grammys. It went up against the albums of British singer Sam Smith, music producer Pharell and global pop star Beyonce. Each artist went and covered Beck’s song from his album and, at the same time, fiddled with the songs melodies harmonies with the different use of their voices, guitars, a cappella and a lot more. The musician is set to play a collaboration with Coldplay frontman Chris Martin at Sunday’s Grammys. Most likely they’ll play one of the songs from “Morning Phase,” which made news last year upon its release. Beck made the album free to stream for all airline passengers who were using the Inflight Internet feature of Gogo. We have some of the artists’ covers that you can listen to and then go ahead and listen to original versions. For those of you that feel that some of the songs ring a lot of bells, Beck has said that “Morning Phase” is sort of sequel to his album “Sea of Change” that was released in 2002, which was also covered by other artists.
