Sorry! :shame::faceplam: Snow Crystals – Apparatjik _ So, some of you may have heard of Apparatjik (Guy´s side project with Magne from A-ha, Jonas from Mew and Martin Terrefe). They´ve released their album this Monday, but this song was in one of the many great videos that they´ve shown the fans. You can see the videos on the apparatacle youtube channel. This is one of my all time favorites songs, maybe its because of the rhythm, maybe because of the “lyrics”. It actually says Snow crystals, melting in the sunshine, one of them is our world collapsing on the finishing line over and over again, but somehow the words don’t become annoying. Love is Noise – The Verve _ Oh, this song is just awesomness! Its from the latest The Verve album, Fourth, and yes, the effect in the beginning is Richard Ashcoft´s voice (amazing!) [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9rXLSWrFVqg]Here[/ame] it’s an interview with the band talking about how it was produced. Gone – Switchfoot _ This song is revigorating. As you said, the best thing about it is the lyrics, like when it sais Gone, like Frank Sinatra, like Elis sadness mom, like All Pachino´s cash, nothing lasts in this life… and then Life is a day that doesn’t last for long. :heart: They´re, like themselves like to say, a “catholic band”, but you cant tell it by listening to their songs. Their other songs are more calm and sweet, but very beautiful. Olympic Airways - Foals _ This song is from a indie math-rock English band, very alternative, but really good to dance. I like them very much, their album is really great, take a look www.warefoals.com Summer´s Gone – Placebo _ Oh, well, its true, you´re never wrong with Placebo. I chose this one because of the guitars, it calms me down, I thought it would fit perfectly with the other songs. Boa Sorte/Good Luck – Vanessa da Mata ft Ben Harper _ The first thing I thought when I chose the songs for this mixtape was that I waned a Brazilian song in it. But at the same time, I thought that it could be weird for you guys to hear an entire song in a language you don’t understand, so this one was perfect because Ben Harper sings the very same thing as Vanessa, but in english. Soon Enough – The Constantines _ :heart::heart:wacky: I´m so glad that you liked it! This song was love at first hearing for me! I heard it in a TV series, and I went like crazy looking for it! I already knew other songs from the band, but after this one I became a fan. Non Believer – La Rocca _ This is another love at first hearing, but this time from a very unknown band. I heard it when I was going through a dark moment, so it was perfect timming, and it gave me strength to go on, you know. That’s why it is very special to me. Closer – Kings of Leon _ :dead: Oh Gosh, I get chills every time I hear this one. I know it isn’t an unknown band not even an unknown record, but I think this one is the real diamond of Only By The Night. Its so sexy and dark :sweatdrop: and Caleb singing it… :freak: But what I really like about this song is the drums. Really. Awesome. On The Mend – Foo Fighters _ Owww, this one is very sweet. When I hear it, all I can see is castles, princesses and King Arthur´s tales. :wacky: And it’s Foo Fighters! Their best album, btw. Go go download it. Untitled – Beirut _ Well, that’s my favorite song from my favorite band at the moment. Well, its not exactly a band, its more like a bunch of musicians (different ones at each track) performing Zachary Francis Condon songs. They are all stunning! So theatrical, sweet, French-circus-like, stunning songs. Yes, there´s a lot of trumpets, accordions and violins, all together:wacky:! Its magical and I feel like dancing while listening to it. Times Like These – Foo Fighters_ This is an acoustic version of a well-known Foo Fighters song, but its extremely different from the original version. This one makes you think about life, makes you nostalgic and shows you how important it is to pay attention to the little miracles of life. The lyrics are just PERFECTION. I See You – Mika _ I´m not really into Mika, but this song gets me… I think that that’s just because I´m really romantic and passionate. This is the kind of song that you hear on the happy ending of cheesy movies :P On A Day Like Today – Keane _ :cheesy:! This is a B-side from their first album, very calm and romantic. I do love the lyrics and the way that Tom´s voice grows during the song. The back vocals on the ending are really intense, what makes you want to hear it over and over. Overall, this was a nice mix! I liked the majority of the songs on there and really loved number 7! I’m really interested in seeing the tracklist for this, that’s for sure. Thank you so much, to whoever made it. :) Owww! So, here is my review: 1- :wideeyed: great start. Beautiful piano. 2- Geez I know this song! (just don’t remember the name) it’s a classic! Loved! 3- OMG! OMG! Mew!! :wacky: listen to it, you all. It awesome! :awesome: 4- I don’t know why, but this song remember me of afternoons in the beach… so bright! 5- Little of hip-hop, interesting! 6- Another bright one. Liked the beat and the soft voice of the singer. Kinda reminds me of Jason Mraz. :unsure: 7- Wow! Country music! I´m not a big fan of it, but this one is funny to hear. :lol: 8- This is the kind of song that I like to listen in my way to work. Gives you energy, has a great beat. That’s definitely one that I´ll listen a lot from now on. 9- I feel so :cheesy: listening to this song! Oldie and romantic… :wacky: really liked it! 10- Owwww :wacky::wacky:! so calm and sweet and good to hear! And the guitar! :cheesy: :heart: Lovely! I wish I could understand French, it seems like the lyrics are so damn good. My favorite so far. 11- Beautiful!:cheesy: I felt like dancing while listening to it. :lol: 12- Is that old Kings of Leon?? :shocked: WOW! LOL! Really good. 13- Powerful song. And the singer has such a stunning voice! This one is for cheering you up during a rainy day. Second favorite. No,wait. After listening to it over and over (5 times and counting), I´ve decided that this one is my real favorite. xD 14- This one is sweet. and kinda sad... I cant decide how much I likeit. And I can totally see it in one of One Tree Hill´s season finales...
