23-Sep-2008: Budapest Arena, Budapest - Tickets, Preview, Meetups, Review/Photos
Budapest. September 23rd, 2008 / No Comments » / by plusby Late arrival today. Some of the trucks got held up en route from Prague last night. Everyone is here safe now, so the show can get back on track. One thing is that it will make it a shorter day. The arena is on the outskirts of Budapest. We are here for less than 24 hours, and won’t get to explore. I hope I will get another chance to follow the Oxfam volunteers advice, and check out this amazing city.. It’s strange to think we were in Oslo a few days ago, and will be in Vienna tomorrow. Touring is a unique experience. It is a unique opportunity for Oxfam too. When else would the organisation get the chance to take a campaign on the road in this way, and talk to such a range of people. It’s very exciting. I need to head out and set up. Speak to you soon. http://www.oxfamblogs.org/coldplay/

Gwyneth Paltrow Just Says 'No' to Personal Chefs By Paul Chi Originally posted Monday September 22, 2008 09:40 AM EDT Gwyneth Paltrow Photo by: Russ Einhorn / Splash News Online Kiss the cook! She may be one of Hollyood's most glamorous leading ladies, but Gwyneth Paltrow is most at home in the kitchen – not on the red carpet. In fact, the self-proclaimed foodie – and mother-of-two with husband Chris Martin – says she doesn't have a personal chef. "I cook all the meals for my house," Paltrow told PEOPLE in New York Sunday at the launch party of her new PBS food show, Spain ... On The Road Again, with her best pal Mario Batali. "I really love to cook." So what's on the menu for Paltrow and her two children, Apple, 4, and Moses, 2? "Breads and pizzas is what I'm cooking and we all love it," she said. "We have a wood burning pizza oven in our garden. Right now the weather is nice in London, so I'm using that oven a lot. You can cook anything in there. It's amazing." And the Oscar winner – who says she inherited her love of food from her late father, Bruce Paltrow – is now working on perfecting one of her dad's trademark recipes. "My dad was a famous pancake maker and I'm working on [adapting his] recipe right now," she said. "I'm making mine slightly healthier." According to Paltrow's mother Blythe Danner, her daughter is quite the professional chef in the kitchen. "She never gets flustered," said Danner. "She made duck for my birthday last year and she does it all perfectly." It seems Danner is no slacker in the kitchen, either. "My mother made breaded flounder," Gwyneth said, recalling her favorite childhood meal. "We would have it with macaroni and cheese on the side. She hasn't made it in a long time. I got to get her back in the kitchen!"- Ask the Oracle on Coldplay.com (Now in session!)

September 22, 2008 - submitted by Vetle, Norway Q. O Oracle! Would thou please answer this question and my spirit shall surely be calm; Me and two of my friends have just started a band, but we have not found a name yet, and since I really like the name Coldplay, and you've already taken it, we want compensation for it! Do you have a nice name for us? The Oracle replies: Maybe you should just look more closely at what you asked me? There's a couple of possible band names right there in your question. Calm Spirit, Spirit, Dead Calm, Compensation or maybe Me & My Two Friends? back September 22, 2008 - submitted by Brett, United States of America Q. Do you think its fair to say that The Roots are one of the greatest bands that doesn't get enough respect? The Oracle replies: I think it's fair to say that in your opinion it's true. The Oracle was lucky enough to see The Roots in a fairly small venue in the U.K about 10 years ago. They were fantastic. I can't agree with the statement myself though because any band to have a career spanning over 20 years, who are still signed, selling records and shows are doing alright in my book. For every Roots there's dozens of great unsigned bands that will never get a break. That's how I roll.- Ask the Oracle on Coldplay.com (Now in session!)
VICTORY!!!!!!!!!!! Jen - was this you???? September 22, 2008 - submitted by Jen, United Kingdom Q. When the Oracle retires, what Coldplay memory will you treasure? The Oracle replies: Hmmm I think there must have been a little conspiracy to get this question answered as it can't be a co-incidence that so many have asked the same question in the same day! That's not why I am answering it by the way. The Oracle isn't easily led. There are too many amazing memories, first gig, first chart entry, first number one album, first Brit. The list goes on. I am going to choose something very current from this tour. You may have read in Roadie #42's blog about mobile phones being the new glow sticks. Well I have a very short video of that on my phone. It's such a goosebump inducing moment and one I would share with grandchildren were I to have any but that's not likely so am hoping great nieces and nephews will suffice? (FYI: That's directed to the many who asked about grandchildren specifically!)- Which member of Coldplay oozes the most testosterone?!
Can best be summed up this way: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5zey8567bcg]YouTube - Lumber jack song[/ame] :P- The Buckland Religion~Official Thread
