  1. awesome man. Danke schon.
  2. I think the music in trouble was done very well ( I just tried covering it on my dad's recorder the other day). But I must say that I'm having trouble tolerating the vocals. They seem easy to love and easy to hate, and I do the latter...forgive me. Clocks was also done pretty well vocals a tad better but it feels like the lead singer (you...I dunno... who over posted this) tries almost too hard, with all due respect. I'm not saying I can do much better...but the vocals do kind of kill it for me.
  3. My two cents: If no more albums were to come out...looking back, I believe AROBTTH would be symbolic of the peak of coldplay's potential, songwriting and their greatest album. Each C.D is a world of it's own. I think possibly my favorite album is parachutes. I have a lot of associations connected with that album from when I first heard it. It fit my day-to-day mood and vibe to a T. At night, the relay of sparks-yellow-trouble is one of my most favorite coldplay experiences. However, A rush of blood to the head, I think, fills in most of what parachutes lacked. Soft, mellow acoustic vibes were replaced with pounding, rock out, even head banging riffs that get you excited, unlike parachutes which relaxes. Overall, I feel that A rush of blood to the head is a more complete album as it gives you a taste of everything. It's a complete concert with the brilliant entrance with politik, the soft ballad of the scientist, the flowing piano-rock of clocks, exotic flavors like daylight, the contrasting, acoustic session of green eyes and warning sign, the cashy ominence of the title track and the outstandingly beautiful amsterdam. It has the best entrance and finish I've ever heard in any album. and with my favorite track (clocks), the variety and resounding power in fullness every song possesses...I think you got give it to AROBTTH as far as album's go. X&Y, for me, just fell a little short. I think that they went in the right direction with the techno-ish feel of it (they had pretty much exhausted everything else leading up to it) but 3/4 through it begins to become tiresome and almost lackluster...too much maybe.
  4. Lol, the ypg-625 has about 500 different voices... and the instrumental ones such as the flute, violin, orchestra(as far as strings go there are a couple dozen different variaties) etc. are surprisingly realistic (there's also weird stuff like footsteps, rain, doorswing etc.) . Kind of annoying in fact, because so many of the synths sound really cool, but you'll go crazy trying decide between. Anyway, I think you'll have more than enough voices out of the yamaha. As far as the piano itself goes, I preferred this one by a considerable margin over even the clavinova's at guitar center because it had the exact weight, response and vibration that I had hoped for. You get a really "big" sound when playing say, politik, yet I just recorded a surprisingly accurate version of "for you" for which you need plenty of sensitivity. Some of the casios sounded just like real pianos but didn't have enough touch or enough response as I would've liked. But before you buy any instrument you have to try it first...If you can't find the yamaha ypg-625 to try out for yourself it wouldn't be wise to get one... ...But, it is my suggestion because I love the weight and response of the keys AND the crisp, clean sound it gives.
  5. By the way, that yamaha digital piano...it's mine now! Today was my birthday and my parents took me completely off-guard when I came home from work. Possibly the best present ever. I can't decide what songs to learn next, until then I'll be abusing my small dictionary of coldplay songs (trouble clocks, the scientist, , amsterdam, ladder to the sun etc.) that sound a million times better.
  6. Interesting set list, amsterdam, AROBTTH and green eyes are somewhat of an oddity. On you-tube I have yet to find any X&Y tour performances of any of those three...or swallowed in the sea for that matter.
  7. After that, if you tune your d string to c# you can play the acoustic for spies. ;)
  8. Yeah, I can't say I'm any kind of authority on the matter. But it seems to make more sense to have an idea (mood, story, setting) for a song, compose a rythm for it and then add lyrics around that idea accordingly.
  9. yeah, and it's definitely one of their most crowd friendly songs. Like in live 2003 where it continues on endlessly.
  10. Instead of taking the time to write it out for you (like a nice guy would), I advise you try somewhere like 8notes.com They have a guitar and piano chord chart. So, take the first guitar chord, "B", and then find the piano chord, "B", and you know what to play.

  18. I have a later tab book and I know a few songs on that one to be incorrect. Anyway, I know simply by watching jonny live that this one's not quite right.
  19. Yeah the 520 and everything below doesn't have the weighted keys, in which case you might as well just get some $200- casio.

  21. 60% woo! I had to guess on most of those dealing with birthdays and what not...but based on other people's scores. 60% seems a thoroughly respectable score.
  22. Heh. I went to guitar center today with my parents this morning to sort out something with my dad's recorder. Anyway, I had previously though that the one there that I'm interested in was the DGX 620...it turns out that it's the YPG 625. From the yamaha website they seem like practically the same thing...anyway.
  23. Yeah. Upon first seeing it, I deemed it coldplay's best live performance of clocks...that was until I saw the live 2003 version, which was flawless. Although I think I did prefer the "Whyyyyyyyyyy!?!?" intro. That was really cool.
  24. Here's the vid of see you soon from glastonbury 2002... just about as good as live 2003, I think.
