Confirmed Australian Tour: Feb/March 2009
Oh, cool, TryWhistlingThis. :) Well, like I said -- I've never been to a concert where there hasn't been standing (including Coldplay in '06). But, yeah, it makes sense that they would have GA with a different target audience. :D No-one can help clarify the sections for Rod Laver? :(

Oh, StarsKay -- how much earlier before the concert did you get there? Where there lots of people already lined up and waiting?

Confirmed Australian Tour: Feb/March 2009
I've been in a restless sleep for the last two hours; got up now just to make sure that tickets aren't on sale... ...there's something wrong with me. :P

Confirmed Australian Tour: Feb/March 2009
*Double Post* thef1re -- Yep. I'm pretty sure it's safe to say that it'll be 'First In, First Serve' regarding the GA tickets (well, for all of them actually). Of course, the pre-sale will not be releasing all General Admission tickets -- they need some left for people to wrestle over in the queues; entertain all us lucky ones that got them first! ;) But yes, you assume right (I assume...). :D

Confirmed Australian Tour: Feb/March 2009
Hehe! ROFL at you, yellowtalk. :D Seems you have nothing to fear, since Rod Laver has 10 different tickets you can purchase! -liams-, I'm assuming your a Melbournian here; (and I suppose anyone can help with this, really), but where the hell are all these ticket sections? We have GOLD STANDING, GOLD LOWER, GOLD UPPER -- what is the difference? (They're the same price, but the seating chart does nothing to visualise what you're buying...) Where do they all match up? *confuddled* I'm guessing the BLUE is 'Silver Upper', and that the PINK is the 'Bronze Upper', (side/ rear views are obvious), it's just all this GOLD!

I agree -- we need these prices! And I highly doubt the Coldplay shows will be fully seated. Like StarsKay, I've never been to a concert at Rod Laver Arena where there hasn't been GA -- I'm 100% positive there will be standing... ;) ...or, There Will Be Blood.

LOL. We're not going to find out for a little while, guys...

Confirmed Australian Tour: Feb/March 2009
-liams-, I think it's a pretty fair bet to say that it will be a limited assortment of both GA and Reserved Seating. The best thing you can do is get on the Ticketek site ASAP (when full details are released) and see whats on offer. I haven't purchased Pre-Sale tickets before, so that's all I have to offer. :) Best of luck to you... :D
-
Leftrightleftrightleft?
Are you sure? I only ask because 'Poppyfields' is a stand-alone instrumental beginning at 2.54 on the 'Prospekt's March/ Poppyfields' track -- a track containing two seperate songs, much like 'Lovers In Japan/ Reign Of Love' or 'Yes/ Chinese Sleep Chant'... In my opinion? 'Leftrightleftright' is still to be released -- most probably on the LP next year. Knotty; Whoops. My bad then... :)

Leftrightleftrightleft?
I thought I remember a brief review that mentioned the beginning of 'Leftrightleftright' started with someone (Chris?) counting a march...? 'Prospekt's March' certainly has none of that. And, we're not to forget that another LP is expected to be released late next year; so there's still time for it to (re)appear... :D

Hah, nice. Pre-sale is so close! And for the moment I haven't been able to stop refreshing both the Ticketek page and this thread. Clearly, this announcement/event/whatever has taken priority over everything...

No problem -- glad I could help out. :D I would also suggest keeping an eye on the Ticketek site; just in case further details/instructions/changes are released -- it is possible that a code is needed to complete the transaction, so be sure to have all bases covered! ;) We're still wating on official ticket prices, seating arrangements etc., so I'm assuming that clearer instructions will be made available in the next couple of days...

Confirmed Australian Tour: Feb/March 2009
but a dream, which Australian city are you planning on coming over to? Samiya, there isn't a code per-say; you need a VISA Card to participate in the pre-sale (keep in mind it is an internet pre-sale), so I'm assuming it's basically first in, best dressed... ...you use the VISA Card to purchase your tickets; whether you're successful or not relies on the fact of how many tickets they are releasing, and how quickly they go. So really, you just need to have your Internet Page & VISA ready and waiting for the 9.00a.m pre-sale. Hope that clears things up a bit -- and Good Luck. :D

Ooh, very nice! But 8AM? Bummer. I'd be so up for that, but yeah -- school is going to make that a little difficult. I figured I'd go reserved seating for the March 3rd show, then GA for the one on the 4th. Get a feel for things. Thanks for your input, Cobalt.

AUSTRALIAN TOUR ANNOUNCED (unofficially)
You and me both, coldplay <3! So, you guys recommend standing? I've wondered about that (I was seated back in '06), in the GA section, can you see clearly enough from further back -- that is, if you're in the middle of the standing section compared to right in front of the stage?
-
Confirmed Australian Tour: Feb/March 2009
coldplay <3, I totally agree! I am so excited to see them, I'd pay anything. It does suck about the Adelaide 'snubbing' -- I would be mortified if they skipped Melbourne (of course, that's very unlikely, but you understand my point...) -- you get yourself hyped up, and then this happens? Not. Cool. :( I really hope the petition works for you guys. If it was successful in '06, I think you might have a fairly good chance at changing some minds... ;) Focusing of ticket prices/ seating arrangements -- please! Hurry up and release it all. I want to know the seating set-up and cost for Rod Laver Arena. We need to be informed. Anyone want to make an educated guess as to when we'll be privy to that information? I understand the estimated ticket price was around $145 for GA, and that Reserved Seating was said to be just under the $100 mark...? Suppose we'll find out soon enough. :D:D:D

You know, I'd almost certainly consider paying a billion dollars to see Coldplay. Almost. The thing about the Visa Pre-Sale is that you have to have a Visa card -- you're not allowed to participate otherwise. So, thank you very much, Dad. I am so excited for this. Seriously. I'm pretty much set on doing anything to get to both Melbourne shows. Speaking of which, for those who have had previous experience, any advice on how much earlier you'd need to get to Rod Laver to get the best possible GA position?

Yeah -- word. Still nothing on official ticket prices...?
