Is it weird that I'm actually relieved to see the sunburst tele, alive, well & unpainted? :) I was sure he'd marked it up with the others.

That's the way it was last tour, so probably.

I guess they own some portion of the rights now. Maybe as a result of the lawsuit settlement?:confused:

It's actually easier than it seems like it would be. I've known several people who got them just by catching one of the backline crew's attention when they're clearing the band's gear and asked nicely. I got one of Jonny's picks from Matt the same way. Ive heard of people getting all kinds of stuff, setlists, picks, will's drum sticks, even the band's towels.

U2 is still an awesome live band, but Bono's voice does show serious signs of strain in recent years. This isn't a knock on either guy, even singers who take care of their voice face these issues as they age.

To be fair, he is in his mid 30's now which is a point where a lot of singers begin to show signs of strain to their voice. I still say his biggest issue is that he doesn't get proper breath support when he's "dancing".

Jonny better watch out, they'll be coming for the Spurs next!:laugh3:

I'm pretty sure they could negiotiate creative control either way. (though it seems like they already have a firm hold of their creative direction, they've certainly done some stuff I can't see EMI being thrilled with.) Anyway EMI needs them so badly at this point that they'll probably throw everything they can their way to get them to stay.

The sound quality on the only available clips is horrid. I tried listening to them, but couldn't even make anything out.:\

You have to buy them, they don't come with the tickets.

I don't really like her songs, but IMHO she's one of the hands down best pure singers to emerge from the current generation.

I'm not sure she'll be around for awhile, she posted something on another thread about playing at a fundraiser tonight.

Considering he has quite a bit of hair, I'd say that's pretty likely the correct era. That makes it even weirder though, as that guitar is not something you'd use to make an album like x and y, it's totally a rockabilly/country/jazz axe.

Do you know when this pic is from? He's playing a really old guild here, and it's not the kind of guitar I'd associate with his sound. Makes me think this could've been a non Coldplay session or something.

That's really cool. I've been wanting to get a close look at his new pedal setup. Looks like he's changed quite a bit.

I'm not saying Coldplay tickets aren't expensive, but honestly they're still towards the low end for a band at their commercial level. (at least in my area.) A lot of the major tours that come through have top price tickets that are 2 or 3X the price of the top price tickets for this tour.

IDK, I think his voice is in a lot better shape this tour than it was on VIVA a few years ago.

He didn't have Major Minus back then though. :P

So far there's been about 4 (minor) changes in 5 shows, so who knows what they'll have settled on by the time you see them at the Bowl.

To be fair, the fact that the "orthodox" version of GPASUYF is back more than balances it out. (I mean come on, it's JB's only real solo and they take that part out...:\)

On any other song ok. That one was perfect the way it was.

I'm pretty sure it depends on the layout of the venue. That's how the C-stage on the VIVA tour was.

It's got piano now though (I don't like...:angry:)

I'm not sure, but I think they focus on people in the way,way,way back nosebleeds. Not sure where you're level 2 is, but FWIW good luck!:D
