Coldplay announcement on the Christian O'Connell Breakfast Show (9 May 2012)
Nah, just the old 7 second delay.;)

Ticket Scam Hollywood Bowl Show
That's as may be, but none of what you wrote there really addresses the issues I have with the current state of paperless ticketing. It still is dependent on a venue that has both the infrastructure and trained staff to process the audience in a timely fashion, makes it difficult (if not impossible) to conduct legitimate transfers of tickets, and generally has the potential to create a lot of hassle for the people it's supposed to benefit. Like I said, a good idea, just not ready for prime time quite yet.

It will most likely come back at some point.

Tomorrow's Daily Mirror (4 May 2012): Coldplay Chris' hearing torment
It's far easier to do permenant damage than most people think.:\

[5-May-2012] Coldplay @ KROQ Weenie Roast, Irvine, CA, USA
That's the reason I don't really like festivals. The saving grace with most of them though ist that there are usually multiple stages so the odds are better that there will be at least 1 band on that you kind of like.

Discuss: Charlie Brown single
The way you phrased it made it seem to me like you did. My mistake.

Discuss: Charlie Brown single
Yellow is a blatant pop track too though. So are In My Place, Clocks, Speed of Sound etc. etc. The point is (as you seem to concede yourself), that Charlie Brown is generally considered a stronger song than the other two. To a fair number of people, it is up there with the band's strongest songs ever. That's where the idea comes from:rolleyes:

Floor Tickets?
Don't get me wrong, I do think floor seating is stupid (particularly on an ungraded floor, which seems to be your main issue.), I'm just saying that there's often reasons for things like floor seating that are beyond the production's control.

Ticket Scam Hollywood Bowl Show
It does work, but it's not without it's own (sometimes major) problems. Depending on the size of the show, it can be very difficult to process 10-20,000 paperless tickets efficiently and get everyone into the venue on time. There are also issues with things like people who want to buy tickets as legitimate gifts to others etc. It's a very good idea, but the actual mechanics needed to execute it well are often currently lacking. In fact, I believe Springsteen (who is probably the biggest single supporter of this system right now) has actually had to invest in providing the infrastructure needed to support it in many places.

Floor Tickets?
It's extremely hard to get health & safety to agree to GA in many places, especially in an indoor venue. This tends to mean a lot of tours scrap GA everywhere because from a production standpoint, things work better if every show has a uniform set up.

Ticket Scam Hollywood Bowl Show
The problem is all the "better" ways are either logistical nightmares (will-call only tickets), or limit accesability to fans as well as touts (box office only sales etc.) As long as there's a market for secondary tickets at huge mark-up, there will always be people willing to meet that demand. There's just too much money on the table.:\

Tomorrow's Daily Mirror (4 May 2012): Coldplay Chris' hearing torment
If it's Tinnitus, it won't go away. You'd be able to hear it even after you stopped using the headphones. A lot of other ear conditions can produce similar yet reversable symptoms though.

Coldplay's Twitter
I'm sure Politik won't be gone long. Anyway, each new touring leg always brings 1 or 2 songs in the set that really surprise me. I never thought they'd play Sparks again before they busted it out in 2007, and I think inclusions like Daylight and Warning Sign were a big surprise to a lot of people when they appeared on the MX tour after years of not being played. Short of some of the older B-Sides, I think pretty much everything still has a shot (however slim;)) of turning up at some point.

Ticket Scam Hollywood Bowl Show
Personally, I wouldn't ever buy secondary market tickets from any venue that doesn't guarantee their sellers are legit. Craigslist is full of bogus tickets (and other stuff for that matter). Any reputable re-seller will sell through a legit service like StubHub because it's to the benefit of their bussiness to have a third party verify their authenticity.

The problem with square one is that it doesn't really fit anywhere but the opener. They played it once or twice at the start of the Viva tour and it just seemed out of place in the middle of the set IMO.

Coldplay on Jeopardy
It depends on the answer value. The low values are supposed to be easy.;)

Mad at setlist
I guess it's a matter of opinion, but to me, the songs on NLOTH are a lot closer to pop than they are to ATYCLB or their classic 80's sound. Likewise with the 360 tour. Also, within the touring production industry, Popmart is considered to have introduced many ideas that have since become industry standard.

Jonny's Fender Strat
I'm pretty sure the black/blue one does. I could be wrong though.

Jonny's Fender Strat
He actually did have a couple of the mexican reissues in his set up during the twisted logic/VLV eras. I think he still plays some reissue ones, but now they are newer American Vintage reissues (or whatever they're called). His "main" thinlines are original 1970's models though.

Tomorrow's Daily Mirror (4 May 2012): Coldplay Chris' hearing torment
It sounds like he aquired most of the damage before he even had a career to speak of. I'm still waiting for some "wit" to pipe in with the fact that the onset of his tinnitus appearently coincided with the last period in which the band's work was universally acclaimed.

Ticket Scam Hollywood Bowl Show
StubHub is pretty much the safest of all the secondary ticket outlets, so you're probably ok.

Post piccies of the sexy Mr Berryman..
I thought it didn't look like him, but it's so far away and the guy (not the Guy:laugh3:), was wearing a hat, so I figured it could be him.
