  1. I'm not a mod, but this might get more attention in the Coldplay: live section. ;)
  2. Don't hold your breath on any of those counts.
  3. I totally get that, It's just that at this point, it's pretty clear (IMHO) that that's never gonna happen. I just think that people tend to hype themselves up with expectations that run counter to the band's entire pattern of behavior for the last 10 years, only to get let down when the band continue to do things they way they've always done them. I'm not talking about what Coldplay should do, only what experience tells me they will do.
  4. Eh, by this point you should know what you're getting with a Coldplay show. It's just the way they do things, expecting anything different just sets yourself up for disappointment.
  5. Eh, it's theirs IMHO they can do what they want with it. (Although, I personally don't buy that there are all that many "possibilities" involved in distributing music for free, especially if you're already a known band a don't need exposure.)
  6. That's a fundimental law of Youtube, and applies to all shows.:laugh3: Seriously though, I think it probably has to do with the fact that the closer you are to the stage, the easier it is for someone to notice you filming, which is often prohibited.
  7. I think it's been worming it's way back into the set for awhile. They soundchecked it a lot during the last Euro tour.
  8. I saw them on the 2nd leg though. Guess I just got the crap show in a bunch of good ones.:veryangry2: (actually, it wasn't crap at all, just shorter than the ones you guys are talking about.)
  9. There was a whole thing on this last year. They are controlled by a tech at the mix position, but apparantly, they're also very sensitive to vibration and humidity both of which can cause them to go wonky. (and both of which exist in spades at your average concert.:D)
  10. Not sure what the Euro dates were, but this set was actually 2 songs longer than when I saw them in 2009.

    You always find great stuff!:D
  12. Some people posted on this earlier. Apparently, it was right around their usual 95 minute mark. In terms of songs though it was slightly longer than the opening Viva dates and last years UK dates.
  13. Yeah, but tech that proves a pain in the a#@ for the production also has a tendency to go away. It certainly happened on the Viva tour. (from reports their initial production rehearsals were completely different tech wise from the show that actually made it onto the road.)
  14. It may well end up dropped before long. The starts of tours always find the set in a state of flux.
  15. I must say, in terms of composition, tonight's gig sounded like a stronger set than usual from the guys.
  16. I think it hurts Chris' voice to sing both parts live. It might be out of his range.
  17. It's actually fairly well established as a technique (if a little hokey.) U2 did it so they could "duet" with Lou Reed on ZooTV, and again to sing along with some astronaut guy on 360. I think other people have used it too. It is a gimmick, but Coldplay love their gimmicks.
  18. Warning sign is my favorite song. By ANY band. They better keep it in till chicago!:veryangry2:

Where did you get such a high quality photo this soon after the gig?
  20. Still better that photo of him with the ZZ Top beard! :laugh3:
  21. I think it's probably more of a moral point. Why should streaming services be able to profit off of music without cutting the people who made the music in for a decent percentage? And bands do get paid for Youtube views now, especially after the introduction of Vevo.
