[20-Apr-2012] Coldplay @ Rogers Arena, Vancouver, BC, Canada
I thought Stereophonics already called that one.:sneaky:

The Buckland Religion~Official Thread
He has a lot more than 3. He took 7 teles on the road with him last tour and has said in interviews that he has collected "loads" of them (however many he means by that:D) Still, since the sunburst one is his first (and in his words his favorite), I'd imagine he wouldn't want to alter the appearence too much. After all he'll probably want to play it long after the MX tour is over.

Someone recorded a video from the behind seats. (I think it might've been clocks.) The angle looked awesome! I think I'd rather be there than at the far back or something.

Floor Seats or Standing?
A lot of places in the U.S. prohibit GA standing at arena shows for health and safety reasons. I know where I live no one is allowed to do any kind of standing seating if the venue is over a certain size.

The Buckland Religion~Official Thread
If you lovely people will permit me to go OT for a moment, I was wondering if I may bring up a question I've been obcessing over today: Is this guitar The same as this one I find it really odd JB would permenantly paint his favorite Tele, but it has an identical looking wear mark on the top. I can't believe he would paint this one:confused:

Drums come through on the recording better than anything, but that's probably more to do with the phone speaker it was recorded with. I don't think a recording of this quality is really a very good representation of what the song truly sounds like live.

It was in parenthesis(sp) on the Edmonton Setlist. I think it's optional or something.

I understand, It's just there's not a whole lot you can do about any of those things, and so I feel like the whole thing has become this big circular arguement on here where nothing will ever get resolved because no one posting on here can resolve it. You are right that when you buy a ticket you're a paying customer, but really at this point you should have a pretty clear picture of what's on offer when you go to buy that ticket. If, armed with that knowledge, you still choose to pay your money, you are IMHO at least partly to blame for any disappointment the show gives you.

The area where I live is pretty much the most anti-gun jurisdiction in the US, we still get screened a ton.

We are pretty paranoid.:o

Wow, even the small and mid size venues are wanding people as they come in now here. (and in light of incidents like this, it might to be such a bad idea.)

LP6
Actually, I think in terms of size, scope, and direction the closest Peer to Coldplay is probably Muse. At least from their generation.

Anywhere large numbers of people come together, a few of them are bound to be nuts.

It sounds serious. Don't they screen for weapons and whatnot before you can get in the venue, or is that not done in Canada? I doubt anyone could get a knife into any kind of venue where I live, it's like going through the airport.

He should play more tom fills IMHO. Usually he sticks to the snare, but the toms really give things a bit more bounce here.

I think it is. One of the captions talks about the Oilers, which is an edmonton team.

Ok those bands aren't for listening.:laugh3:

This illustrates my point from last night's thread. The parts of the show that seem repetative to us, are totally new for a lot of the crowd.

Yeah, but he's in a class by himself as a live performer. As much as I love Coldplay, they're not on his level as a live act. As cool as a mix up would be, I highly doubt there will be much of one. I'm calling it now, tonight's set will be 1 song off from yesterday's, if that.;)

The problem is they're only "fan favorites" to a relatively small group of hardcore fans (like those of us who post here :D) A lot of their audience already sits on their hands if they play anything that's not a single, playing to many of these would make 10% of audience happy and p%$# off the other 90%.:\

With the VIVA shows, the start time fluctuated a fair bit at the start of the tour if I recall. It might be best to go a little early just to be safe.

I think that's because Jonny was playing electric in this version, in both the studio version and their live one last yearthe guitar part was acoustic which just sounds weird with the synths IMHO.

Oh absolutely! However, at this point I don't think people are entitled to act surprised/shocked that a Coldplay show follows the pattern of all Coldplay shows for the last decade.

Very well said. Personally, I just wish we could stop rehashing the set list arguements that have been ongoing since 2005. Would it be nice if the band played more/longer? Absolutely. However, why people just can't grasp that that's not something this band will likely EVER do is beyond me.
