Mad at setlist
The band doesn't consider it a failure at all. They did say that at the time, but in more recent years, they've basically said that they felt they had to say that to re-gain credibility they felt they lost, and post Elevation tour they've been steadily drifting back towards their mid/late 90's style, both musically and production wise. To me, that must mean they like that style. Nonetheless, my point still stands that the MX tour is a show, one that includes visual as well as musical elements. Like I said, not everyone's cup of tea, but that doesn't mean it doesn't appeal to some people as much (or even moreso) than a more minimalist production. Different strokes for different folks.

Floor Tickets?
No, it's not GA standing. There is temporary seating on the floor, and everyone has an assigned seat.

Mad at setlist
I'd say it honestly has more of a chance than a lot of the songs that have been bandied about so far. At least they have been known to occasionally play trouble over the last several years.

Post piccies of the sexy Mr Berryman..
That's definately not Catherine Pierce. Not sure who it is, but it looks like she could be that model Guy has been dating.

Small Reminders/Updates & The Coldplay Messenger (feat. Roadie #42!)
I wouldn't exactly say Chinese Sleep Chant was regularly played. It only had a regular spot in the setlist on the first North American Leg, and was played sparingly after that. The least played live song from that era (barring the couple they never played live) was Yes. There have been credible reports that the band have been soundchecking a ton of older stuff so far, so there's a good shot some rarer stuff will worm it's way into the set eventually.

Is that Marianne in front of will? She's the only Coldplay wife I've never seen photos of.

Tomorrow's Daily Mirror (4 May 2012): Coldplay Chris' hearing torment
That depends on what you consider "normal" volume. If it's loud enough, it will damage your hearing over time. Extremely loud volumes can cause significant damage with relatively little exposure though. There's loads of good info on Google about what decibel levels are in the unsafe range.

I think it's actually because he was mad at whoever was taking his picture. It's a very similar expression to the one he has in other (pap) pictures when he's with his family.

Tomorrow's Daily Mirror (4 May 2012): Coldplay Chris' hearing torment
I have one friend who has what his doctors say is around 60% hearing loss just from tending bar in a local music venue for a few years. Daily exposure to that kind of noise adds up faster than most people realize.

Ok after reading the whole thing it makes a lot more sense.

It's not just that interview. He doesn't do it often, but every once in a great while he drops a line like that in interviews.

Tomorrow's Daily Mirror (4 May 2012): Coldplay Chris' hearing torment
It's a habit I picked up working for a concert promotor several years ago. When you're attending 2-4 gigs a week and standing quite near the speakers, you learn to be aware of such things.

Tomorrow's Daily Mirror (4 May 2012): Coldplay Chris' hearing torment
That's just common sense IMHO. I always wear ear protection when going to gigs, and I haven't been a kid since longer than I care to think about.

Tomorrow's Daily Mirror (4 May 2012): Coldplay Chris' hearing torment
Exactly, he almost certainly has it to some degree, so do they rest of the band, and their crew for that matter. It's an extremely common condition among musicians. I just doubt it's going to cost him his career. That line smacks of tabloid sensationalism.

Mad at setlist
It's a show. period. Just because it's built around music, doesn't mean music is the only aspect of the show. It's like Popmart, an experience for all the senses. Not everyone's cup of tea perhaps, but it is what it is.

They're playing what the show asks them to play (that's how AI works.) Paradise and ETIAWF are the "popular" singles.

A lot of professional musicians have at least some degree of tinnutus. That said, it's less common among performers who use modern in ear monitors, which Chris (and the rest of the band) have done from the start of their career. I call BS on this one based on the fact that there are Parachutes era photos where Chris can clearly be seen with proper ear monitors which offer a good amount of protection. Some tinnutus, yes. Crippling Tinnutus, probably not.
