That's the issue with music, everybody has a different taste :lol: I really detested ETIAW (now that I've seen it live I like it), Paradise, Major Minus (only like the last part of it), Princess Of China (UGH!), Up in Flames (I find it immensely annoying). BUT! I rate the songs very differently from most of the people here. Most of the fans rate the song by its lyrics and composition, I mostly just really care for the melody, and then later on I bother with the lyrics (maybe because English isn't my mother tongue so I can easily ignore the language). So, the songs I really love from MX are Up With The Birds (it has such a layered melody with a lot of texutres, I really love that. And I think the lyrics are also very intelligent), Moving To Mars (random lyrics but I really like the change of musical style in the middle) and A Hopeful Transmission/Dont Let It Break Your Heart (that song is just straight down motivating lol) *edit: Oh yeah and I think why most people didn't like MX was the fact that it was so very different from the previous albums that most of the old fans just were like "wTF IS THIS" and felt kinda dumbfounded?

I love this statement so much! :lol: I need badass angst ridden Coldplay lyrics, not this "I liEK STARS AND OOOOOOO-OOOOOOOOUUUU"s crap I wanted to quote a few of the brilliant posts on here with which I agree with, but in the end I quoted the entire darn page. I think we are all somewhat of the same opinion that Coldplay lost their awesomeness somewhere around/after Viva? To me at least, I think Viva was about as colourful as this band was "allowed" to go, you know. I believed more colours and ridiculous rainbow-butterfly farting would be over the top. And then MX came out oh my lord hahaha. I do think the last 2 albums had a few, not many, but a few nice songs. But how is it that just a single song like "We never change" is, in my eyes, better than the entire Ghost Stories album?! And MX just seemed empty, soulless, apart from maybe two songs :sad: It felt like Coldplay inhaled some social media and pooped out unicorn muffins :shame: I know a lot of you might disagree with the things I just said, and I feel like I'm somewhat not adding anything new to this thread, but it feels really nice to talk about the band and its issues without getting called names... not that I would give a damn but I do like constructive answers to my posts lol.

Yes indeed, I hoped that was a closed case with mentioning God in his lyrics. Aparently not lol. Anyways, God Put A Smile Upon Your Face is a badass song where the God part doesn't sound as corny and cheesy as in Amazing Day. Well at least to me it sounds so cringeworthy there.

Btw when I missed the concert earlier on I was looking through the live stream thread to check what songs were played, and wasn't impressed by the setlist, until one of you mentioned "Buckin" somewhere and I was like "wAIT WHERE" hahahHA I love you guys :nice:
