I have a similar setup but with 2GB RAM and a Radeon 9600 with 256MB RAM... Sims 2 + all expansions runs fine except for some slowness in lots with many sims and graphics artifacts (probably because of heat damage to card) if that helps?

Also, it's very hard for someone who doesn't know a lot about computers to build their own custom one I know XP's maximum RAM is 2GB tho and that should make most things run smoothly

Well, if it doesn't help with headphones, I'd say the sound slot is wearing down a little bit. This happens on mine currently too, it works sometimes if you twist the headphone jack around a little. It's not serious unless you really want to use the computer for playing music or something, and even then, may as well use the iPod.
