that place looks amazing... but how can they perform rock music in a church? I listened to some concerts of classical music in a cathdral but never heard about something like that... I'd say: I'd simply like ti be there!!!!!! :guitarist::guitarist: :drummer: AMEN there are 2 possiblities IMO: either they filmed two videos for two different singles or the same video of Violet hill has parts in Italy and parts in Spain....

It was in summer 2000 when Coldplay played on the stage of the Sonica festival in Misterblanco the notes of Yellow, the song that would make them famous all around the world. Chris Martin and the other guys were only 20 and they were happy to be on tour in such an exotic place. “In Catania – he still remembers today – I had my best dinner in my life, the table was full of very many dishes, dished all at once. Now, like in a journey back in time, the English band wanted to return to live intesely again the places, the flavours and the essences of their beginning. Thanks to Jim Kerr – Simple Minds’s leader who hosted them in his hotel Villa Angela – Martin and friends stayed in Taormina for a week going around Sicily looking for a location for photografic sets and for first single’s video. Siracusa, Catania, Enna, the barrage of Nicoletti lake were some places of the little tour in Sicily. In the shade of Etna Coldplay defined the tracklist of their new disc, the follow-up of the very famous X&Y in 2005 (more than 20 milions copied sold all around the world and first place in charts in 32 countries). The tracklist appeared right yesterday on the band’s site with heading "Thursday 10 April, Taormina, Sicily". And from the title the album seems to be ispired by our land: Viva la vida. It will be out on 17th june and will cointain 10 songs: Life in Technicolor, Cemeteries Of London, Lost!, 42, Lovers In Japan/Reign Of Love, Yes, Viva La Vida, Violet Hill, Strawberry Swing, Death And All His Friends. Billboard’s redaction, that had the opportunity to listen to the album before the release, talks about somptuous arrangements, never heard before in their albums, with special electro-acoustic digressions and a ghost track titled The Escapist”. Also, always according to the american magazine, the band seems to have abandoned a bit the structure verse-chorus-verse, preferring more symmetric and complex structures. Chris Martin explained, he’s always been obsessed by writing and producing songs that can be sung on the roofs...: “I just wanted to offer something completely different.” And Will Champion continues: “Brian Eno is incredibly able to demistify the genial intuitions, making the great music sound always like available to everyone.” Viva la vida, recorded between Spain and Great Britain, will become the premise for the new Coldplay worldwide tour. The last Twisted logic tour between 2005 and 2006 was attended by more than 1.2 milions people with a total encashment as 51.4 milion dollars. “We’d like to playing again in this wonderful theatre”, they commented looking at landscape from the old cavea of Taormina’s theatre before to leave towards London the day before yesterday.

I think the phisical release will be 2 weeks before the album (june 2nd)... and the video should be aired a month before (early may) ... IMO

it's very difficult to make everyone happy... anyway, the songs on the new album will be 12, cause track 5 is a double song (lovers in japan /reign of love) and there will be a hidden track, too and if you consider they initially talked about 9 songs... well, dont worry be happy!!!

Well, you could find that really strange.. but if I check coldplay.com the first page is about 2005 with the old message and there's no new star in april 2008 the update didnt reach my home :(

the first song supposed to be first single was Cemeteries of London... then they talked about 42 and Violet hill as probable releases before the album... I think it'll be one of this three they want to break with the past... so, who knows...

I like several things about this tracklist... there are altogether 12 songs, cause one is hidden and a track consists of 2 songs... I could'nt ask for more! and I'm surprised that Viva la Vida is a song, too

I read it just now! I'm so HAPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!! But I checked at first coldplay.com and there's still the old news there (the one about the jump from the stage...) so, I said: no tracklist today............................ and instead, I saw on coldplaying.com the copy of prospekt's message but I can't find it anywhere.... Anyway, it's like a dream today to be able to read the tracklist! What I like is: - the double song Lovers in Japan/Reign of love - the number of tracks: 10 + hidden track What I'm wondering about: I found intriguing the description of songs like chinese sleep chant and famous old painters... are they next b-sides?

the new stars about old stuff start annoying me... please, coldplay, do not post something about past years, it's nice but we already know those things: we want something really NEW! (a tracklist and an artwork, for exemple :D ...just a suggestion)

release date depends on the country, it's ok to read different dates: friday 13th june for some european country (like Italy :) ) monday 16th june for uk tuesday 17th june for america I'm not the first one who writes that things anyway

that's clearly the RS list, not the real tracklist... other reasons to think it's fake are: - famous old painters doesn't appear and I think it will be on the album since the new site seems to mention it... - where is the escapist?

I was so sure (as I think all of you) that they published the tracklist at the end of last week and I came back so excited from my 4-day-holiday and then...nothing... well, I'd say next week that means next month too... Another good question is: when do they officially announce the release of Violet hill, if they really are going to release it before the 1st single? we are at the end of march now...

I love the movie 'Htchhicker's guide to the galaxy' and I'm so excited that the new single could be related to it. hope the video will be ispired by the film
