Chris Martin Shoes
The shoes he wears are typical low-cut shoes. I find it admirable that CM is still original in personal style, so the best thing that I can do to be inspired by stuff like the shoes he wears or anything else he does, is to try and do my own thing.

War and Peace
finished Well, I finished the book two weeks ago. It surely was one of the better books I have ever read. I'm not sure I quite grasp its significance yet, but I know that if I ever read it again I will certainly grasp it better. Tolstoy's descriptions and inclusion of so many and so many important human characteristics, was unique in that I have never before experienced such detail and elaborate plot. It fulfills its classification of an epic. I learned so much about the history, culture and people of the time. It was just all around a great book. READ IT

03-Aug-08: Washington - Tickets, Preview, Meetups, Review/Photos [originally 02-Jul]
brilliant *Will sang Death Will Never Conquer Me. The show was awesome, even from section 407! There is a general agreement among my friends who went to the show that all the songs were executed well. Despite my thorough enjoyment of every second they were on stage, my favorites were: Death and All his friends, Fix You, Politik, Yes, and In My Place. Fix You brought tears to my eyes. The crowd was completely amiable. Lights were fantastic during Clocks- at that point I refused to sit down the entire show. GPASUYF sounded crazy... I would like to have a recording of it myself. The energy and singing and screaming just never seemed to let up for me. I was blissful from square one (the phrase not the song), even through the slow piano and acoustic part. This was my first Coldplay show and it proved to me why Coldplay is my favorite band.

Rate the latest movie you've seen
High Fidelity High Fidelity was a very entertaining, but chill film. I give it 8/10.

What is a strawberry swing?
Reminds me of stopping to appreciate a beautiful day and/or make everyday interesting. In some interview or article with Chris Martin I remember him talking about how he likes to make every day amazing. As a whole, the song perplexes me, but I can't help feeling amazing with the "afro-pop" guitar and upbeat mood.

Anyone else think that The Escapist is one of the best songs on VLV?
BTW 2732, I like the cynical definition of America. The sad thing is that I agree hahaha!

I couldn't place it above or below any other songs on the album, but being that I enjoy every song, then yes it is one of the best. The cello part is difficult to hear unless you are attentive and not distracted by anything, but once I heard it, my life was changed.

War and Peace
By the way, I meant that I finished the first book of four... not the entire thing.

War and Peace
Done Book 1 I'm a very slow reader for I just finished the first book. Liked it so far. Shows in impressive detail the best of human folly, hope, foolishness, treachery, love, life and death. Just as I have learned from other materials, there is a constant struggle between virtue and vice, and I find this especially in the book. It's almost ideal that I'm reading this book when the new album came out because many of the themes Tolstoy writes about appear in one form or the other in Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends. Anyway, until I finish the next part, Adios!

LIT the best gig opener they have
LIT as opener? LIT is probably a good opener for the show. If they open with this when I see them in DC, I would like to see them jam out and lengthen the pinnacle another 8 or 16 counts. I miss hearing some good ass jamming from Coldplay like in spies (hopefully some of the new songs will fix that). August 3 in DC is going to be the breaking of my Coldplay-live-virginity... so pumped. About Politik: It's one of my favorite Coldplay songs and seems flawless as an opener, but it would be sick as the first encore song.

Sorry for being a downer...
Tomorrow is the first day to the rest of your life. Is that not enough to live for? I found a bit of myself when I read Into the Wild. I'm obsessed with it. Too much beauty in the world to make a bloody scene of yourself.

The '42' Thread

War and Peace
I just began reading it. Just as everyone has told me, there are many characters. If I wasn't so distracted by other things, it would be hard to put down. I'm loving how the women in this book are all about stupid gossip then the politics of the time are always hanging in the air. I'm enjoying it so far... 70 pages in that is.
