  1. Hahaha, that Condeleezza Rice bit was perfect. "Physically we were alright, but politically we just didn't match up." I pretty much died. :D For all the Facebookers out there, here (http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2015097&id=1232910307&ref=mf) is the best of the best of my photos. I also got videos of Clocks (partially), Viva La Vida, 42, Strawberry Swing (absolutely HAD to get these two), Fix You from the guitar solo to the end, the techno God Put A Smile Upon Your Face, Death Will Never Conquer (including the banter beforehand where he said fuck several times and then added "Don't put this on the Internet!"), Lovers In Japan (which I'll admit kind of sucks because I had floor seats and was very distracted by the confetti), and Death And All His Friends (including the "Aw, fuck!" bit). I'm a little embarassed because I didn't realize how much of my own singing it would pick up, so there are some instances where you can barely hear Chris because myself, my friend, and all the people around us just overpower him, but regardless, I'll try to get those on YouTube soon.
  2. Setlist posted above is a bit off... Life In Technicolor Violet Hill Clocks In My Place VLV Yes 42 Fix You Strawberry Swing Chinese Sleep Chant - B Stage God Put A Smile On Your Face - B Stage Speed Of Sound Yellow - Full Band Lost! The Scientist - Acoustic Death Will Never Conquer - Acoustic -- Politik Lovers In Japan Death & All His Friends/The Escapist ...pretty sure that was it. (EDIT: Yeah, Speed of Sound WAS before Yellow. My bad!) Overall, a GREAT FUCKING SHOW! Chris screwed up the beginning of "Death and All His Friends": "All winter we got married...Aw, FUCK." I laughed. Best night of 2008 for me by far!

  9. There's going to be two opening acts tonight, if I remember correctly: Santogold and the WFNX contest winner(s). I was considering entering the FNX contest and I remember from the rules that the contest winner(s) gets to play a 20-minute set. Someone in the Hartford thread said Santogold did 6 or 7 songs, so that's about another 30 minutes or so. I'd assume about 10-15 minutes between each band for set-up time, and the show starts at 7:30 (which, let's be honest, probably isn't happening). So based solely on that info, I would estimate about 9:00 PM, but my estimate is probably a bit too conservative.

  13. Okay. Watched some of the Politik video. That'll probably be one to watch out for if they play it in Boston, but I feel like the flashes of light might be just too far apart to trigger a migraine. But thank you so, so much for the heads-up and the video!
  14. Hey all. I'm seeing Coldplay on Monday in Boston, and I just had a quick question regarding the stage effects they may or may not use. I am a migraine sufferer. One thing that can trigger a migraine for me is strobe lighting. In fact, I got a migraine after just watching Muse's "H.A.A.R.P." DVD because of all the strobe lights they used during "Stockholm Syndrome". My question to those of who you have seen Coldplay so far on this tour is, do they use strobe lights in their show? I''m bringing my medicine regardless just in case, but I'd strongly prefer not to have my night ruined with a migraine. Thanks!
  15. Not sure, but I know they cover "Kids in America", which wouldn't be so bad, BUT they changed the line "We're the kids in America" to "We're the kids of the future". I pretty much wanted to poke my eardrums with a fork.

  17. I applaud you, Christa. Cold War Kids are fantastic. For me, probably Muse or Radiohead. (...although if I weren't so addicted to Coldplay, I don't think I would've ever really listened to Radiohead much more than "Creep" and "Karma Police"...)
  18. More importantly, does anyone think they're NOT just another hyped up untalented Disney band?

  23. Alright! Review time. Windows Media Player is ready and waiting. Here we go! 1. This is Supertramp, I'm sure of it. I think the song is called "Breakfast in America"? Good song though. The tuba and clarinets and such give this song a whole new level. 2. "Speed of Sound". Nice. :) People criticize this song for being too similar to "Clocks", but I love this song. Good choice! 3. Okay...interesting choice. An atmospheric organ intro that goes on for almost two minutes. Then it transitions into a neat section of bass, organ, and vocals. A neat song for sure, but goes on for too long, in my opinion (7:23). Sounds like Genesis, perhaps? 4. Softer. Acoustic guitar and vocals. I know this sounds weird, but I get the feeling that I read the lyrics for this song online somewhere and just couldn't put it with a song. Weird extended silence in the middle, then piano and organ continue the guitar melody. Cool song though. 5. Sharp synth intro. Sounds like the same band as Track 3. Neat mixing of time signatures; I'm a sucker for wacky time signature changes. If Muse or Coldplay ever release a song in 5/4, I'd probably melt. Six and a half minutes long. 6. Extended harmonica intro. Singer sounds kind of like the guy from Supertramp, but not identical. I can't really make heads or tails of who sings this song. 7. Ooh. Interesting. No idea what this song is called, or who sings it, but I recognize it as being the theme song for the TV show "House". Neat guitar distortion. The whole song sounds like it's being played off a wax record. It sounds really cool. I like it. :) 8. I recognized it at literally the first chord as being "Cemeteries of London" :). I LOVE this song, one of my favorites from Viva La Vida. Another fine choice, sir or madam! 9. Oh WOW! What a cool song!! (That's all I have to say about it. This is awesome; who is this?) 10. "Square One". Another one of my favorites from X&Y. Who made this tape? You know me too well. So far, there's only been like two or three songs I don't like that much. 11. "The Logical Song" by Supertramp. One I heard the first Supertramp song on this tape, I was really hoping that this song would make an appearance. Thanks for not letting me down. This is great! :) Awesome saxophone solo at the end. 12. Another Supertramp song, "Dreamer", I think it's called. Honestly would have never realized it was a Supertramp song if the other Supertramp songs weren't on here. 13. "Violet Hill". Another great Coldplay song. I have to listen to this song in moderation, though. I really overplayed it when it first came out. :P 14. "X&Y". ANOTHER great Coldplay song. What a completely underrated song. 15. Sounds like another song from the same person/people who did Track 9. This is fantastic! The opening chord progression is perfect! I really need to know who does these songs. They're great. 16. Interesting guitar part. Sounds kind of similar to Track 4, or possibly Track 6. Doesn't do a whole lot for me, but I do like it. It is, however, VERY LONG. Nearly eight minutes in length. Overall, a great mixtape. There's only like 3 songs that I didn't like. Thank you very much!
  24. Not to mention that Boston and London rhyme (more or less), so they could switch it up and not screw up the rhyme in the next line ("...for my heart it was not open")!
  25. ^ AGREED times A MILLION. But if this IS true, then AWESOME! :D
