Alternative Violet Hill videoclip on ColdplayTV (Youtube)
Phwoar, just got around to watching that. I'm a big fan of satire and intelligent messages in the music video - its a brilliant avenue, reaches lots of people. This video impressed me. I love the synchronicity of the fireworks and explosions, very elegant, very emotive. I dont think music channels ought to have a problem with airing this video, I've seen worse. And I like that it defiantly stands up for itself the way Pink Floyd always used to do. God only knows we need more intelligent music videos, what with the bubblegum & r&b stuff going totally off the wall. Personally, I think involving more than just the Anglo-American superpower in the broad stroke of ridiculous politicians, just to drive the point home that there is no real full-quid politician around, but I do agree that the US is the focal point of power at the moment. Great, great video. Much more impressed. And I loved the first one. Would like to actually see this released now, though!!!

Chris Martin in Be Here Row
Ok, one, when are Oasis NOT in a row with someone? And two, stuff the "un-Coldplay-ness" of it, if it annoys Oasis, DO IT FOR THE LOVE OF GOD. About bloody time someone put the prats in their places.:smug: Although we all saw the ugly, ugly situation after the Blur vs Oasis feud. Start THAT one again, thats clever! Not quite on the same scale, but you never know what to expect. If it sells.... Although some half decent tracks. But you didnt hear that from me.

Violet Hill... ummmm, I now like it... a lot...
I really love Violet Hill, I find it quite anthemic, lol... About the radio not playing it, I know!!! Even Aussie's Triple J arent playing it, & theyre like our last remaining link to the free world of music, & the last time it was played was on a weekend lunch show.:stunned: I dont know why. Hot FM played it the other day, and that station seriously sucks. Conspiracy. Its all a conspiracy.

Not Impressed with Violet Hill video
I really liked it, I thought it was fun and a bit like a French impressionist film, actually, with the random chaos and then suddenly dead-serious moments, it was a bit Beatles and Python-esque. It was like watching a bunch of normal guys being ridiculous. Which I like.:laugh3: That 'intrepid explorer' look on Chris's face when he was trudging through snow was just hillarious. Actually in afterthought it kind of reminds me of the Blur video To the End, which was a spoof on a french film of sorts... EMI got to the YouTube rip, btw, incase no one noticed.... Have to wait for a couple of days for the gen. release.

Violet Hill FULL VIDEO!
Just missed that rock at the end, man!!!:laugh3: I love the headbanging, its very Bohemian rhapsody. Well not really. Felt much like a french impressionist film, bizarre and silly and then suddenly inappropriately serious. Loved it, personally. I cant help love watching Chris trudging and sinking helplessly into snow with a look on his face like a kitten being an intrepid explorer of snow for the first time.:D

Coldplay Sets Dates for Extensive "Viva La Vida" Tour
Yes but WHY NO AUSTRALIAN DATES?? *goes into grump about entire continent's location*

Live Nation hint at "different" Coldplay tour
Lol, back on topic, I was thinking the same when it comes to the whole lasers and cirque du soleil thing, I was thinking Muse with their massive Wembley show & the HAARP DVD that came out after that, but that's not world-reaching i suppose, although it had screenings in Sydney, so thats international at least... But I kind of hope it's not a stadium tour as such, coz I live in WA (australia) and my nearest city is Perth, and I dont think there's stadiums in perth (build one NOW QUICK!!! Screw those 30-year facelift plans Perth!!!!!:D), and I was thinking about Muse, good lads, who are still kind enough to play "small" venues. I just saw Muse at Supreme Court Gardens in Nov, and that was just freaking awesome, (not to mention my first ever Muse gig, and first rock show) but I was mostly happy that they werent "too big" for a small outdoor venue, and havent been "too big" for festivals either. I wouldnt accuse Coldplay of being big-for-boots, but I dont think a band should ever be "too big" to play "smaller" towns and smaller venues. Theyre just a band after all, yknow? That said, brilliant and world-reaching for me would mean big shows w. lasers and the works (that roadie in disney-land you were talking about made it sound like that), world-tour (incl. Australia naturally;)), and trying to include smaller gigs. C'mon, guys, if Muse can do it....!

The Problem with Viva la Vida
Yeah I'm worried, man, I really don't click with Viva La Vida at all, I really don't like it, and I've tried to re-listen 5 times (or 6?), & it's just not my thing, but I'm in love with Violet Hill, that's my scene. VLV is just too synthy for me I think, & I do like some electronica & some 80's stuff, but not this. But it's promising, all the same, that Violet Hill is there right after, so it must be a really complex album, & at least worth a good listen. I like the idea of it being traditionally artistic like that, experimental, with a bit of everything, but I like what I'm a bit familiar with as well, at least if it's vaguelly grounded in the band's roots. Like Radiohead's In Rainbows, or Muse's BH&R; I loved loved loved their new stuff. Still, it's weird everyone else sees it the other way around w. VLV as "wonderful" and "tear-inducing", and VH as basically rubbish... :stunned::shocked2: Coldplay's stuff usually goes BANG on the first listen... But then again there were some small bits of the afore mentioned bands' latest albums that took AGES to grow on me, & now it's all good. Blablabla...

Coldplaying's Favorite Artists and Bands of all time! March 30th- April 30th.
Great way to get my first post! Has everyone listened to Violet Hills yet? Coldplay prove once again why theyre one of the greatest and strongest bands of our generation (or EVER...) I loved it instantly & I'm so geared about the album!!!!!! 1.Radiohead (Argueably one of the best ever) 2.Muse (Matt is just awesome.) 3.Blur (As is Damon. My hero.) (Top 3 are always my top 3) 4.Syd Barrett (Also my hero) 5.Coldplay (Brill brill brill) 6.Arctic Monkeys (top six are my favourite EVER bands & worthy of this gap here :D) 7.Pink Floyd 8.The Beatles 9.Wolfmother 10.The Good the Bad and the Queen (quite a claim for a one-album band, but for me Damon can do no wrong :P) 11.Cold War Kids 12.The White Stripes 13.Jeff Buckley 14.Beck 15.Bright Eyes 16.Mercy Arms 17.Jimi Hendrix I only have so many *favourite* bands, & the rest is really great stuff but not list-worthy....:stunned:, but they include the Dirty Secrets, Vampire Weekend, the Mess Hall and the Black keys, who get "honourable mention". Guaranteed I've left someone out & I'll be kicking myself tomorrow. & good to see fellow Blur fans here!!!
