  1. Every single show that Dave Matthews has ever played is floating around out there on the internet. All 1700 some odd shows. Tell you what, you get me your address and I will send you a bunch of shows on CD. I have listened to all of them at one point or another and it is time they get passed onto the new generation, away. :D
  2. If I told you, you wouldn't believe me. It's a sickness. ;)

  4. Oh, darlin'. There is a whole world of DMB out there. I wish you lived closer...or had access to have me send you music. I would barrage you with tracks like these (staples, mind you) that are so fucking off the hook. Ugh! I would take you under my wing if I could. :(
  5. The DMB Gods have blessed me. What can I say? Actually, it's a pretty funny story. We were at his hotel getting ready to leave for the last show, and when we got downstairs, Dave was coming out of the hotel, as well. My friends freaked out because they were excited, ya know? Oh no. Not me. I actually ran and hid behind the door (still not sure why I did that), but he actually caught me out of his eye, walked up to the door, and asked me if I was hiding from him! All I could muster was "Yes, sir." He laughed, gave me a hug, and said that he recognized my shirt. Each year our group of friends stay at this place in Wisconsin called Richard Bong Recreation Area, and we have t-shirts made every year that say "Bong State" across the chest. Well, each year, the person closest to the stage thrown two shirts up onto the stage. Well, I was wearing my Bong State shirt, and he says "Oh! You're one of those Bong State, people. I've seen y'all everywhere this year. How many of you are there?" I said there was between 150-200 of us from across the country that meet there each year. (By the way, at this point my friends are getting PISSED because he's only talking to me!) Anyway, he says "that's really cool" and then my best friend walks up and has another of our friends take our picture and then he signed our tickets for that night! Yeah, that was a good day. Totally unexpected.
  6. Come in from the cold for a while Everything will be alright Come in from the noise for a time Everything will be alright Everything will be alright
  7. Yes sir! Yes, yes, and that is debatable. Well, let's put it this way...I didn't actually "see" the concert until it came out on DVD. I did get to hear it, though! That Central Park Great Lawn holds a LOT of frickin' people. ;) Just for the record, I was also at Red Rocks in 2005 (from "Weekend on the Rocks") and sat no more than five rows from the stage for the entire four night run. That was the weekend I met Dave Matthews, too. God that was a great weekend.
  8. I have to get cracking on packing for Alpine Valley weekend. Next Friday is coming up fast!
  9. I should not have done that. Two and a half weeks down the drain. Dammit!
  10. ^ You know he's back in the hospital, right? :(
  11. Ahhhhh, now I have to go listen to that damned "Jimi Thing" from that show. I was actually at that concert!

  14. "Theme From A NOFX Album" by NOFX
  15. "Paper Planes" by M.I.A.
  16. Yes and yes. Also: "A Confederacy of Dunces" by John Kennedy Toole The story is set in New Orleans in the early 1960s. The central character is Ignatius J. (Jacques) Reilly, an intelligent but slothful man still living with his mother at age 30 in the city's Uptown neighborhood, who, because of family circumstances, must set out to get a job. In his quest for employment he has various adventures with colorful French Quarter characters. "Ishmael" by Daniel Quinn The narrator of this extraordinary tale is a man in search for truth. He answers an ad in a local newspaper from a teacher looking for serious pupils, only to find himself alone in an abandoned office with a full-grown gorilla who is nibbling delicately on a slender branch. "You are the teacher?" he asks incredulously. "I am the teacher," the gorilla replies. Ishmael is a creature of immense wisdom and he has a story to tell, one that no other human being has ever heard. It is a story that extends backward and forward over the lifespan of the earth from the birth of time to a future there is still time save. Like all great teachers, Ishmael refuses to make the lesson easy; he demands the final illumination to come from within ourselves. Is it man's destiny to rule the world? Or is it a higher destiny possible for him-- one more wonderful than he has ever imagined? Along the lines of a "series" similar to Twilight or Harry Potter, you might like to try the works of Anne Rice. If you have seen "Interview With the Vampire," well, that's just the tip of the iceberg in terms of that series. The entire "Vampire Chronicles" works are terribly interesting. Mrs. Rice tends to be quite verbose and detailed, but I can guarantee you this gift truly allows the reader to "be there." The other series by Anne Rice that you may enjoy is the "Mayfair Witches" chronicles. This particular series is my favorite. There are officially three books to the series including The Witching Hour, Lasher, and Taltos. Just as with the "Vampire Chronicles" (which sometimes overlaps with the Mayfair Witch saga), there are several ancillary works written about main characters and secondary characters in later stories.
  17. Honestly, I'm not even going to bother reading the 21 pages of this thread but I will comment on the original post: I am actually very offended by what was written. While I may or may not believe in God...OR the need to be born again, I feel that it is not necessary to force your own belief on others. I considered your original post and this subsequent post as offensive because I feel like it is trickery and deceitful on your part. Why should I say that particular prayer? What makes that prayer supersede any private conversation I have with God?
  18. Well, I hope all of you out-of-towners enjoyed our fair city! I'm so glad it brought good Coldplay Karma! I'm off to bed. Take care, all!
