  2. Cracking cheese Martin the Warrior
  3. I've only heard 5 years time and I absolutely love that
  4. :laugh3: scissor sisters are one step of cheese too far! :laugh3: I think it's brave of Keane to go down the 80's route but I hope the rest of the album is not as cheesy. I do like Spiralling tho don't get me wrong.
  5. James I really like your 'Run' cover! I think your voice suits it, look forward to hearing your next cover :D

  7. Before I say what I think of the new Keane song I just want to say I love Keane and have both their albums and I've seen them live twice! They are a fantastic band! I really like the new song but it is really cheesy :laugh3: it's really 80's sounding and I think the critics will absolutely slate this new song because of that  When I say it's cheesy I mean it's good cheese and I do like it, everyone needs abit of cheese but I'm kinda hoping the rest of the album isn't the same. If it is, it will be a disappointment after Under The Iron Sea being such a masterpiece.
  8. just seen the first one, i quite liked it. it seemed abit boring tho but as performance videos go it was alright. The bit at the end was abit freaky, it kinda looks like they are disolving or blood is pouring out of them, freaked me out abit :laugh3: Just waiting for the second one to upload :D
  9. I'd say get the Astoria DVD which was filmed in 1995, which has loads of stuff off The Bends and Pablo Honey on it. Also if you want to have their music videos I'd say either get 7 Television Commercials or get the new Best Of DVD which has every video they've ever made on it. I know EMI are making more money out of them by releasing this DVD but at the end of the day it's worth getting as it has all the vids they've made. Meeting People Is Easy is another DVD they've got out which is a documentary filmed during the OK Computer tour in 1997. It's a really interesting documentary which has live footage mixed with interview footage and backstage footage. It also has studio footage of them working and recording on new songs that were never released from 1997-1998. Some of it is really hard to watch tho as it shows just how much of an effect that tour had on the band and in particular Thom. I've seen them three times and each time they've been absolutely amazing live! If you get a chance to go see them, GO!!!
  10. Travis Announce New Single, Album and UK Tour Having scored a No. 1 on the indie singles chart with their limited edition J Smith EP, Travis are pleased to announce the release of a new single Something Anything on September 15th, followed by a 12 date UK tour in the lead up to the release of their new album Ode To J. Smith on September 29th. Something Anything sees Travis mine a seam of tough beat led grooves and guitar licks, landing someplace between the breakthrough stomp of Good Feeling and garage band of All I Wanna Do Is Rock. For the video, the band team up once more with Michael Baldwin – who directed all the videos for The Boy With No Name – and take Andy's driving guitar riff as the centre piece for a video that sees a 10ft tall Andy tearing into a solo that leaves the rest of the band suitably awestruck. The single will be released on the band's very own Red Telephone Box label and will be available on 7”, CD and as a download. Additional tracks include a cover of The Kinks classic Lola and two new songs all unavailable elsewhere. Track listings are as follows: Something Anything CD / Digital download: 01: Something Anything 02: Tail Of The Tiger 03: Used To Belong Something Anything 7” Vinyl: A: Something Anything B: Lola UK Tour Dates / Pre-sale Travis have been showcasing songs from Ode To J Smith at selective festival and club dates across Europe and most recently the Far East. Written in 5 weeks and recorded in just 14 days, it’s the sound of a band re-born, re-inspired and re-energised. “we wanted this record to have some rough edges. In the past we might have been guilty of making really beautiful things that were so smooth you almost slipped off them. You can’t say that about this one. We really pushed ourselves. It’s like prog-pop; lots happening in about three minutes” - Dougie. Ode to J. Smith will be released on Sept 29th with full details to be announced shortly. Just sharing the information I just got in my email inbox  can't wait

  17. Thom Yorke is one of my biggest influences musically. His voice, the way he plays guitar, his ability to play piano, drums, to make the hairs on the back of my neck stand on edge!! His work with Radiohead working with four other amazing musicians is outstanding and his solo album 'The Eraser' is a great piece of work aswell. I raise my glass to Mr. THOM YORKE
