  1. what a terrible review, it lost any sort of credibility when in the 2nd paragraph he states Caleb 'sings terribly on Only By the Night' ???! what album is he listening to?! Caleb is a fantastic singer, especially on the new record!
  2. ha! sorry, my bad mate, i forgot Viva went to numero uno! anyway, KOL are magic! :D
  3. I have to be honest and say no, I can’t remember the last time I even listened to the album! I love Coldplay, have all their albums, seen them 5 times, but VIVA as an album is underwhelming in my opinion! I don’t know what it is but it just doesn’t do it for me! I can appreciate the song writing and the musical talent that has went into the album but it’s just missing something! I LOVE Life In Technicolor, but the album is a disappointment after the start! Still can’t fathom why the full version of the song is not on the album (probably will be in the Prospects Ep)! And I can’t stand them floating about in Psuedo-french-military uniforms either!! Pretentious nonsense!
  4. Not nearly enough KOL talk on the forum, theyre new album is fantastic! great to see 'Sex on Fire' @ Number 1 in the UK charts , something Coldplay have yet to manage! They really are a brilliant, brilliant band !!
  5. Kings Of Leon are the best rock band of the 21st century without a shadow of a doubt! Fantastic songs, Caleb has the best voice ive heard, and they are getting bigger and better with each album! Ive had their new album for a couple of weeks and its fantastic! A very different kind of band to Coldplay, and they certainly arent as universally liked as Coldplay, but a fantastic band none the less!
  6. very enlightening. :sleeping2:
  7. oh my!!!!:o Achtung Baby 'horrible'?? Im sorry, but thats just wrong!! Achtung Baby is one of the best albums ever written, Coldplay would be embarrased if you suggested they were half as good as U2!! I love Coldplay, theyre a brilliant band!! But they aint half as good as U2 (yet...) and especially live, theyre streets ahead!!! And as for Chris Martin having a better voice than Bono....?? please go and have a lie down! U2 are the best band on the planet, by a long way!!
  8. the reason the atmosphere was dead was beacuse it was a crappy, self indulgent set-list! charging the masses £40 a pop clearly isnt enough for Radiohead to consider playing a few fan favourites!! before all you radiohead die-hards start, they may be a talented band but they are nowhere near as big as some people make out! the gig in glasgow hasnt even sold out, and theyve been plugging it for months!! i like Radiohead, a lot of great songs, but also a lot of weird, overblown nonsense aswell, particularly 'in rainbows' which in all honesty, I think is very boring and tedious. Thom Yorkes head is so far up his eco-friendly arse hes forgotten Radiohead are in the entertainment business!!!
  9. how, by including 'I ran away'!? :P
  10. Reign Of Love,Whisper and The Escapist?? seriously??? :stunned::rolleyes::o:(:dozey: Ahead of Amsterdam , Rush Of Blood to the Head and Shiver???? :shocked2::shocked2: And no scientist? :o but each to their own........... :wink3: my list..........which will no doubt be picked apart..... Dont Panic Politik Viva la Vida Shiver Warning Sign Lovers In Japan Fix You Clocks Yellow Strawberry Swing Til Kingdom Come White Shadows Rush of Blood to the head The Scientist Spies Square One See You Soon (Live) X & Y Cemeteries Of London Amsterdam
  11. http://consequenceofsound.net/2008/06/05/album-review-viva-la-vida-or-death-and-all-his-friends/ one of the most accurate IMHO!
  12. it is an appaling song, the worst 3 mins of coldplay out there! those who describe is a pleasent filler?? this is coldplay, there need not be a 3 minute filler, guaranteed about 4 of 5 of the b-sides will be far superior!
  13. spot on. sorry, but Reign Of Love is appaling, it really is , totally unnecessary part of the album IMO!! LIJ is superb, interesting how 'clisja' feels its his/her least favourite song on the albumbut favourite to song along to??? :stunned: nailed on next single for me, what else could they really release???
  14. the more i listen to the album, at least 20 times now, Lovers In Japan is one of the best tracks! anyhow..... LIT is a great track, definitely one of the few on the album that 'gets you off your seat' so to speak! should have been longer tho....... anyhow, im a massive coldplay fan, unfortunately the more I listen to it, the less I acrually like most of the songs, less is more chris.................
  15. I think the problem with this album, and I include myself in this , all us coldplay fans WANT to love this album more than we actually do/should! while theyre a moments of brilliance on this album, I feel they are few and far between! VLV is a great track , one of the very few genuinely uplifting songs on the album! even when coldplay are at their saddest , their songs have always been thrilling and uplifting! cant get into '42', I must have listened to it 20 times and still it seems a complete mess to me! Martin seems to have lost the powerful ability he once had where you felt he was actually singing to you, the listener, and not music critics or his musical contemporaries alike! And whats with the 3 double-track songs? why try and kid on that there is only 10 songs when theyre is pretty much 13! very portensous if you ask me! much like when they made a major error by having 'til Kingdom Come' as a hidden track, when IMO it was the best song on X&Y. Very much think that the album suffers from over-production, with Brian Eno trying to stamp his authority all over the album, rather than getting the best out of the band!! DOnt get me wrong, I love Coldplay and have already paid my £50 for a ticket for the ridiculously 'ALL-SEATED' (??????) UK Tour. and ill no doubt love the gig as they are great live. i just feel the have lost their way a bit, and no longer have the charm their earlier music had! anymore than 7.5 out of 10 would over-rating IMO
