  1. Possibly its Mark posing as a Brandon Flowers solo project. Hence no vocals in the track sample. Now that would throw the fangirls off. :P
  2. Yeah I am gonna go to Grizzly bear, they are playing here in melb at the Palais - sit down venue. Might be a really nice change of pace.
  3. I love this instrumental, picturing his powering vocals over the top. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Si5kzsSr5SU]YouTube- The Killers' Brandon Flowers Announces Solo Album 'FLAMINGO'[/ame]
  4. It's terrible. Please, for the love of god, pick up a guitar again.
  5. Yeah I really like his music, so nice to relax to. Gonna be buying this one. Single's good. He's sticking with a proven formula.
  6. I think they need a break, and its a good move. The solo project ensures that the band is still in the spotlight through the 'hiatus' and then they can return with an album of the quality of hot fuss. Whilst I loved day and age, the general consensus was that it was rather average compared to their other album. Looking forward to hearing Brandon's album, he's got a fantastic singing voice.
  7. Unusual, I have never had problems with ticketmaster. I just hated that they kept saying "seats available" and then would come up with error messages, saying there are no tickets available. There are too many tours going on at the moment, its ridiculous.
  8. I take back one of the fucks. I just realised Powderfinger HAVE to announce a 3rd Melbourne show. Both nights are reading like this only an hour and a half after they went on sale for a show HALF a year away: Plus they have a huge gap in the tour. So Fingers crossed I can get standing tix for the 3rd night. Still, Grr! This is harder to get tix for than Coldplay was. Seriously WTF
  9. Oh yeah, well the Forum, The Palace and The Hi Fi are all popular mid-size venues. I read somewhere today that there is the possibility of The Drums / Surfer Blood combined show. Would be insane.
  10. FUCK FUCK FUCK. 3 times. #1. Couldnt get tix to Powderfinger's 1st Melb show. #2. Couldnt get tix to Powderfinger's 2nd Melb show. #3. Muse are going to end up playing Rod Laver, a place I CAN NEVER GET TICKETS TO I seriously hate ticketek so much and Rod Laver Arena. SO MUCH HATE Bring on these Splendour sideshows at venues that have decent ticketing systems.
  11. Powderfinger presale this morning!
  12. Oh its much smaller. It'd hold a few hundred. Festival Hall holds 4,500 there's no way they'd get a crowd that big. Nobody knows about them here that much, but they have had a bit of airplay on Triple J.
  13. It is however, Florida, where they come from and not Australia. Back to the music..... These guys are Playing Splendour In The Grass festival in Oz this year. I hope they come to Melbourne, and specifically The Corner, for a sideshow!
  14. Ah, but thats the difference. VW are also in the "American Coastal Indie" genre. Not as surfy. I just hate the surfer tag, because if you listen to their songs they sound pretty non-surfy. Having it in the name and a lead single "Swim" doesnt help I will give you that!
  15. I agree with the Vampire Weekend comparison. They're part of my favourite new genre: "American Coastal Indie" And their songs I might add are awesome to play on guitar
  16. Hands down the best Debut album of 2010. I'm calling it with 8 months to go. I have had this album for about a month now and it is really great, reverb-soaked American east coast indie rock. Anyone else a fan? 17. Tough Call. I always liked Modern Life Is Rubbish and also Parklife a bit more than the others.
  18. Grace I didnt know your lesbionic tendencies haha is that uni turning you? Nah she's ok I guess, saw her at BDO and she looked hot. You gonna go to Splendour Grace? If not, I DONT KNOW YOU :P
  19. Agreed. I have been youtubing lots of liam and noel interviews. Bit of nostalgia. Love them.
  20. It wouldnt be completely out of the question. I just fail to see how this ties in with the Space/Astronomy theme though.
  21. Yeah it's a bit similar to 'Stylo'.... noticed both songs don't have any chorus at all It's pretty much a tale being told, with that awesome guitar solo at the end, which I love
  22. And they do sideshows, so the bands (well most of them) travel the country and do smaller shows in cities as well as doing the main festival
  23. FREE MELIKEY
  24. Oh and the 'Everyone is Here' album is pure gold. One of my favourites of the decade.
