  1. Yeah, the BLUR RIP OFF cover
  2. To be fair to people, 7 days may not have been enough to upload. I dunno, they could have been busy. Was fine for half of us though!!
  3. Ha, Emma, Triple J was giving it away free on their website a while back, too!

Ok, Finally got round to writing my review. http://theamarar.blogspot.com/2010/01/live-review-kasabian-palace-melbourne.html
  7. I just sent mine, took me 3hrs to upload LOL
  8. Yeah, Everyone is missing the point of this thread.
  9. lol you may have to wait a while for the videos... But I will add them when I can. Just don't hang out for them lol My audio isnt as good Back In Black video cos I was closer, but the visuals are!!
  10. I have a full video of it, just need to go to uni to upload it!
  11. Explain. HOW can you compare the two? I dont even think that Arctic Monkeys are good enough for a "crown"... you have to be fucking amazing to get that. Hence, The Beatles, or Lady Gaga. Kidding on that last one. Don't get me wrong, I love both of these bands, but Vampire Weekend aren't taking anything from anyone, they're just putting out decent, original music that people are loving. Can't argue with that.
  12. Yeah, no wonder this years was SO much better than the last.
  13. lol ok... the setlist for the Melb show was: (noting its a festival appearance) Uprising Supermassive Black Hole New Born Undisclosed Desires Interlude Hysteria Nishe United States of Eurasia Helsinki Jam MK Ultra Starlight Time Is Running Out Unnatural Selection Back In Black (ACDC Cover) Plug In Baby Knights Of Cydonia I think its it, thats the ones I can remember lol
  14. Yeah, Noel > Liam
  15. Nice! Some good reviews!
  16. Awesome, another Muse release is amazing to hear. The last really good doco I saw was Oasis' 'Lord Dont Slow Me Down', it followed their Dont Believe The Truth world tour.
  17. lol I know you're entitled to your opinion and I respect it. Noel Gallagher hates Maroon 5 with the passion, so because of that, I do too. And yes, before you ask, if Noel Gallagher jumped off a bridge, I WOULD do it too. :P
  18. Thanks..I think I missed a few songs, but that was the majority! My camera's shit at night, so I was pleasantly surprised!!
  19. Here goes a preview of my review. The rest is on my blog. The festival started early with gates opening at 10:30am, at which around that time we entered the racecourse venue. I was amused rather early, without a note played by any band, when my existence as a human being was questioned… I got asked multiple times what my name was by the Proof of Age Wristband Staff… even with my licence in their hands. I think I looked a bit different than the photo, or otherwise I looked drunk already to them – I can blame that on getting home from the Kasabian gig the night before at 2am… First band of the day was the synth-pop of local band Miami Horror (above). I felt like I was in a confusing time warp, their tracks sounded like 80’s flashbacks, nothing amazing or incredibly original musically, but good enough to dance to early in the day. That and the crowd were ridiculously young, and even made me feel old as a 20-year-old. The listeners, myself included, were clearly hanging out for smash hit Sometimes, which went off. Had a bit of time to look around before the next band, so we checked out the merch and what was on offer around the Green and Converse stages, before settling down under a tree to watch Tame Impala on the Converse stage (above). They delivered a couple of songs, including my personal favourite Desire Be Desire Go to an unusually large crowd – which indicates the hype around the band’s release of their debut album in 2010. We caught a couple of songs before moving strategically to the Green stage to get a decent spot in the mosh for Kisschasy... Head to http://theamarar.blogspot.com/ for the rest!
  20. Yeah I am bragging too. Saw them last night at the Melbourne Big Day Out. I have two videos, FULL starlight, and the ACDC cover. When I get time, I will add. I wrote about Muse: After over four hours of standing and waiting in the same spot, the day had come to this. We were in the mosh for Muse, which inherently was a major achievement in itself. Matt, Dom and Chris came out to a rapturous applause, god knows how many people were behind us, and it would have been well over 40,000. Openers Uprising and Supermassive Blackhole set the mood – at this stage, I had shifted into the eye of the mosh, and was now positioned about 8 rows back facing the very center of the stage – I claimed it was the best spot in the house. The classic New Born sent the crowd into hysterics, and the D section jumping – it was an amazing live experience that seemed to vanish all of my dehydration, tiredness and physical soreness with every note. New track Undisclosed Desires was impressive complemented by an amazing laser show – thank god it finally got dark after Powderfinger had finished their set. A major surprise came next with my favourite track off the latest album played – MK Ultra – a noticeable exclusion from the Gold Coast setlist at least. Hysteria followed, a track that just sounds so much better played to a jumping crowd in the live setting. This along with Time Is Running Out were clear Melbourne crowd favourites; the mellower United States of Eurasia providing brief relief and impressive accompanying background visuals before tearing though personal favourite Starlight. At this time, I thought I was in heaven, then newie Unnatural Selection became the cherry on top. Shortly after, Nick Cester from Jet joined the band on stage to perform and sing a cover of ACDC’s Back In Black – of which the local crowd thoroughly enjoyed. An encore later and from memory, Plug in Baby drew both huge cheers and a mass sing-along and then a rushed Knights of Cydonia promptly closed an amazing live set that I will never forget. No wonder they have been multiple winners of NME’s “Best Live Act” award. Photos:
  21. You're spot on! I was really surprised with how many Flight Of The Conchords got in! Also, Florence and The Machine got a lot of love (lol no pun intended) from the voters.
  22. I think you're comparing apples and oranges. Their music is completely different. Arctic Monkeys never had a crown anyway, they were just a fresh, new interesting band years ago that Vampire Weekend happens to be at the moment. And hence the circle of life.
  23. YES! Temper Trap. Thank god. Also, a 3 way tie for the UK award sounds shit. In a fight to the death, Arctic Monkeys would probably win.
