I do. In fact, lyrics often are what make me feel strong emotions when I listen to a song. Lyrics are more powerful thanks to the music of course, but still, when I can relate them to my own life the whole song get another dimension. I think that's because I'm kinda sensitive. Also, sometimes, the lyrics don't seem really deep, but when I can relate them to myself, I feel like they are. That happened to me a lot with Coldplay songs, and maybe that's why I became a fan. :) Oh and because I'm not an English-native, I think I see more depth and beauty in some lyrics than you do.

I completely agree. Reading lyrics without knowing the music is like reading a dialogue without any punctuation or information about how the text is being pronounced. You get the sense, but not the emotions. Swallowed in the Sea is a good example of that, yes. The way Chris sings "What good is it to live with nothing left to give, forget but not forgive, not loving all you see" changes everything in your perception of these lyrics.

They say that just because you only hear the bass I think. Well, nobody seemed to see my post, so I put it there again.

"And finally" ?! So there's a chance it's the last video. Now we even know which song all that teasing was about (Every teardrop is a waterfall). BUT still, it sounds like they can release one or two videos, giving us clearer sound. Yesterday we got a kind of melody, today the bass rythm. Seems like there are things missing. Also, notice the "..." ? That could mean the single is for tomorrow, yes... But it could as well mean the next video is the next part of the sentence. Edit : I still think that's just about the single. Today's lyrics do fit with previous ones : they're about music, symphony...

I was right from the beginning :P If I'm right about Friday, that's 4 videos until the release. Maybe a bit late, I'm not sure they can make four videos with sound clearer and clearer. What about Thursday, just *before* the first festival ? Edit : forgot one detail. We have the most part of the lyrics I think. So that could be earlier than Thursday... I love tonight's snippet, by the way. Especially the end.

My guess is that from now, each video will let us hear a bit more of the song. At the moment we just have some chords in the background, but maybe next week they'll reveal an entire riff... and the whole single on Friday !

Should we try something out?
Though it would be useful to have a single thread to talk about those cryptic messages from Coldplay, I think. Isn't it better than talking on the tweeter thread or the "when do you think LP5 will come out ?" one ? The later seems quite appropriate but still, it's not really organized this way. (just giving my opinion)

Small Reminders/Updates & The Coldplay Messenger (feat. Roadie #42!)
Playing a bit with the image, I ended up with this : I don't think I can do better.

Satriani case over???
So, if I understand well, Coldplay maybe have been inspired by Satriani, who maybe stole a melody from Los Enanitos Verdes, who maybe were inspired by Cat Stevens. We can't know who stole/were inspired by who exactly. But that's not the point. The point is that reuse of melodies can make really great songs. That should be allowed, as you're allowed to use physics formulas discovered by other scientists to make science progress. About Coldplay, if they were really inspired by Satriani, Los Enanitos Verdes or even Cat Stevens, then that's a great reuse : the melody is used in a completely different way, and is arranged to fit in the song. Coldplay obviously worked on it, more than if you compare Los Enanitos and Satriani. (Btw, sorry if I made mistakes, English is not my mother tongue.)

Those who are dead, are not dead, are just living in my head. (the second one) I think it is : They're just sleeping in my head
