^ Haha, that happens to me! My friend called me the other day because she heard a Coldplay song on the radio :laugh3: Uh, I didn't really look at which magazines had Coldplay on the cover, but People has VLVOD as one of the top albums of 08, Time features them in their year in review special, Rolling Stone has them as one of the 50 top albums of 08, and I think there are a couple others floating around :nice: But Barnes and Noble is also selling the Coldplay LP reissues, I just bought Parachutes there the other day... You should buy those! Yup, me too... I started last night just listening to The Scientist, and ended up listening to all of AROBTTH and Prospekt's March :P

I had a nightmare last night that they announced a July tour, so I couldn't go :bigcry: How long are they going to keep us hanging?? I don't want to have a dream like that every night :P

I'm already planning on it :P I'm saving every penny to go to as many East coast shows as I can :D The only month during which they're not allowed to come is July. I will be SOOOO upset if they do, I won't be here in July :uhoh: *tries not to worry about it* ...*worries anyway* :rolleyes:

^ At this point, I wouldn't care if they performed from the top of the Washington monument, I just need to see them again, multiple times, ASAP :freak: (Although that would be a bad-ass concert, wouldn't it? :P)

When you stand in front of a magazine rack and count the number of covers that have the word "Coldplay" on them (4, by the way ;) ) When you listen for Coldplay lyrics everywhere: TV shows, movies, everyday conversations... When every conversation you have ends up about Coldplay, even if the other person hates them (my friends are starting to get really annoyed :P ) When you can't fall asleep without listening to at least 3 Coldplay songs first... But then those 3 songs turn into 5 songs... 7 songs... And then you can't stop listening even though you want to sleep! (And then you end up dreaming about Coldplay once you DO manage to go to sleep) Basically, when you drive yourself mad with how obsessed you are with Coldplay :freak:

^ Yeah, I think the writer is on our side too. He/she is saying that it's weird that Coldplay's this popular, and yet it's still considered "uncool" to like them. I think we can all agree here that Coldplay fans do take some abuse, so it's not like this writer is making anything up ;) And I think it's because they're so much more popular/ubiquitous than other soft rock bands, plus there's a lot more to them than just their music, so people form stronger opinions about them.

I posted this in the US third leg thread, but I thought it required its own thread! Anyway, I was reading the new IQ article, and at the end it says: (Thanks to ColdplayBirdsFly for the image) http://www.ilmc.com/images/stories/iq_pdfs/iq_21.pdf They're coming back!!! :D I'm guessing it'll be between Australia and the Europe stadium dates, that's a huge chunk of time that they've left open so far... :thinking:

I just impulse-bought the Parachutes LP when I stumbled upon it at Barnes and Noble today... Alas, it was not a gift, I had to pay for it myself :P

Eh, it's kinda true- I take so much shit for being a Coldplay fan, I'm definitely not considered "cool" for liking them... Not that I mind! :lol: I was excited that they were one of only three musicians/bands featured in the issue, and they got by far the biggest picture! :D

Two things: a) I just went to Barnes and Noble, and they had Parachutes and X&Y on vinyl!!! I bought Parachutes, but my friend refused to stand next to me while I bought it because she hates Coldplay so much :angry: Anyway, the LP is beautiful :wacky: b) On my flight home the other day I wore my Viva hoodie, and as I was boarding the plane the flight attendant did a double-take and went "did you go to their concert??"... I told him that I'd gone to three, and he was very impressed :P We had a nice conversation :) I was really surprised that he knew it was a Coldplay hoodie just from the little "Viva" on the front, though, he didn't see the big "COLDPLAY" on the back. I always feel so ridiculously vindicated whenever I stumble across another Coldplay fan, though- I almost hugged him :lol:

I just bought Time's special Year in Review issue, and Coldplay's featured in the music section along with REM and Lil Wayne. It says: Rising: Coldplay the British lads have sold 31 million albums, won four Grammys and, with U2 and Radiohead, are part of adult-rock's holy trinity. And Coldplay's new CD, Viva la Vida, was a hit. But go figure: it's still uncool to admit you like Chris Martin and Co. And there's a picture of them performing Viva la Vida at what looks like the VMAs.... I'll try to get a scan if I can manage it! EDIT:

Regarding the U2 Christmas party pics: *bangs head on keyboard* It's that sweater... AGAIN! In fact, it's the same outfit he's worn for like 5 years! Please, Chris, get new clothes. Luckily I love cargo-pants-pictures and his shoes are hilariously awesome, or he'd be in big trouble :P I hope Gwyneth gave him a fashion sense for Christmas :lol:

I got the new butterfly t-shirt from the coldplay.com store! *holds it aloft in triumph* Plus I got 2 iTunes gift cards which I am devoting entirely to Coldplay music videos, and an Amazon.com gift card that I'm going to use for something Coldplay-related. They have lots of stuff, the possibilities are endless!

Really? That's so weird! In the first chorus they have Will singing backup so it's not as obvious, but in the last chorus when they're all doing the "woh oh oh"s and Chris gets too excited to sing exactly on time... Oops :P Still, a pretty good performance, they're definitely up-and-down with VLV on TV shows- Sometimes it goes so well, and sometimes it's shit :rolleyes:
