  1. 1) Yes, we're trying to coordinate this so that they all arrive at basically the same time. Once we figure that out, we'll give people dates for when they should send their postcards. 2) We're still trying to work out where we're going to be sending the postcards, but we'll keep you updated on that. The first post has some rules/basic info :)
  2. Well that would DEFINITELY never happen to me, as I have the worst luck on earth! I guess my best bet is to hunt down the stage door (where IS the SNL stage door, anyway?), and wait there all day :P
  3. I'm very determined to take full advantage of the opportunity when I'm at SNL! I've never met ANYONE remotely famous/important/that I love before, and it's my ultimate dream to meet Coldplay (well, isn't it everyone's?)... It's definitely the best chance I have to meet them. I feel like everyone on this board has met them except for me :P
  4. I also vote for Ian and Jen to be the ones to deliver (if they're willing, that is). The PO box idea is definitely good, as long as we decide on a personal delivery. Although I guess we could still use a PO box somehow- maybe coordinate a PO box in London where we all send the letters, and a crew member/Debs can just pick it up from there? That would solve the "no letterbox/address" problem, I suppose, if it turns out there isn't one... EDIT: Actually, that would also solve the problem of having to leave the box out in the rain for someone to pick up... They would all be safe in the PO box :) So if someone Coldplay-connected agrees to pick up somewhere, this is definitely our best bet.
  5. If I can find the back door... :uhoh: Do you think it's better to hang around before the rehearsal or in between the rehearsal and the live show?
  6. If we go the "send postcards to a coldplayer to deliver" route, I really don't think we should expand this to too many other fan sites. That's just a LOT to ask of someone, even if we use a PO Box. The poor postpeople will have to deal with it too!! EDIT: mygdalom and Chelsea, great logos! How are we going to choose?!?!
  7. So, does anyone have tips on how to meet them at rehearsals for show tapings (SNL), instead of at a gig? That's what I'm trying to figure out!
  8. I HOPE they do, after we've wasted away several days on this thread and posted almost 650 posts! I didn't see any big breakthroughs on the posts I missed, though. We're still waiting on mailbox confirmation, right?
  9. Tips for Meeting the Band? So I'm going to the dress rehearsal for SNL on October 25th, and I was wondering if anyone who has been to a show taping of this sort has any tips on how to somehow meet the band... I'm sure there's a stage door I can hang around, but I really don't know how to do this stuff! I've never been to any kind of show taping either, so I'm completely clueless. I feel like it might be easier to meet them at the rehearsal because it's more relaxed and there's not a full audience, but I'm really not sure. And if anyone also has tips on how to get pictures when there are no cameras/phones allowed... I think that's a lost cause though  (PS- Mods, feel free to move this thread somewhere else... I wasn't sure whether to put it here or in the Live section. Sorry!!)
  10. I'm back! Soooooooo.... What have I missed? :P I was expecting to find like 20 new pages, luckily there were only 3!
  11. Yeah, I have to say that I personally would rather it be a Coldplaying thing... What do other people think, though?
  12. Are all of these blogs coldplaying related? If not, have we decided not to make this a coldplaying-specific project?
  13. You're going to be living there? Lucky you, that's my dream! I have to wait a couple of years before that happens, though... Wait, is it a mailbox or a mailslot?
  14. Cool! I still feel badly for whoever has to put all of these through the slot, though :P So in that case we'd mail the postcards (in envelopes so they can still be addressed to Coldplay?) to Coldplaying member(s), who would then drop them off?
  15. Phew, I survived the debate. Wait, so there's definitely a mailslot that we can access? Not just one behind locked gates or something? In that case, we need someone patient enough to stuff all of these through a tiny mailslot :P I still think we should email our contacts, though.
  16. :) Ah, the joys of living in DC... Speaking of politics, it's debate-watching time! I'm sure I'll be back the second it's over... if we all survive :P
  17. I would totally add a speech bubble saying "OMG I LOVE COLDPLAY!!!111 <3" If we ultimately decide on a 2-postcard limit, I'll send that as my second postcard (don't worry, it'd still have a message on the back)...
  18. This should win awards... for best method of procrastination :P As I live in DC, I think I have an infinite number of tourist postcards to choose from. We have such incredibly cheesy postcards here, I want to take advantage of that :D ... Giant postcard in the shape of Bush's head, anyone? :sneaky:
  19. Erm... How would all of us from different countries coordinate to send the same exact butterfly cards? And wouldn't those be greeting cards and not postcards? Not to play semantics or anything, just saying... EDIT: Never mind, you guys said postcards. My bad! But I still think that would kinda take away from the whole "far away" part of the project...
  20. I second that. Expanding it beyond Coldplaying would cause mayhem, I think, and might make it a little less sentimental. Besides, I think we have enough people here that it'll make a big enough impact with only us! (Obviously, I've given up on leaving. I'm still trying half-heartedly, though :P )
  21. Yeah, I brought that up at some point last night, I think in the context of saying people shouldn't send a ton of cards in hopes of a response. We just decided that we'd make it very clear that this isn't something that needs a response from the band... And as it's just a postcard, there's no place for a return address anyway, so it's not like people will expect anything in the first place.
  22. Oh no! We have to copyright this idea! :shocked3:
  23. Good luck if you try to read the whole thread! 1) I think the template was just for the back, where you write the message. The front, picture part would still have the touristy picture or whatever. And we were discussing people designing their own as well, but still somehow incorporating the location of the sender... 2) We have people working on a logo of sorts... 3) Yes, that is the big debate!
  24. Why am I still arguing this too?!?! I said like 10 pages ago that we should wait until we hear from our contacts! Argh! I think I'll go completely insane by the end of this... :stunned: PS- that logo is really nice :) I shall now try to leave again, although I know it's pointless.
