No, but I was sitting next to a cow. :dozey: Yes, Lore, bats and pumpkins!! It was so exciting, I grabbed a ton! Oh, and I liked Chris' ramble about how his brother hates his ballads... so cute :wacky:

TWO WORDS: F**KING. AWESOME. Actually, 4 words: f**king awesome BATS and pumpkins! Okay, so: a) My seats were GREAT! I was on the aisle near the front of section 6 on the floor... I wasn't sure if I'd be able to see, but it was fantastic! The Talk/GPASUYF/Hardest Part set was really close to me :D b) The Halloween stuff was awesome! The roadies wore skeleton shirts, they tried to pull of some Halloween jokes (but kind of failed :P ), the magic balls were pumpkins, Chris kept mentioning Halloween... but the best part was definitely the bat/pumpkin confetti. When I first realized that they were dropping bats instead of butterflies, I freaked out! c) I think they performed really well, better than in August. It seemed short (Yellow was the only encore... what?!), but incredibly high energy. Everyone seemed to enjoy the fact that it was Halloween. There was a lot more talking from Chris than there was in August. d) I wonder if they told Chris to calm down with the Obama stuff, cause he only mentioned the election once. I think he was wearing his SNL armband though (can anyone confirm?) I took A LOT of video and pictures, so I'll upload/post as soon as I can. I don't really know how :P

Yeah, almost every car has an Obama sticker here, it's incredible! Everyone I know volunteers for the campaign, it's really fun to do- we head over and canvass in Virginia. :) Oh I know, I'm sure he's going to be hilarious tonight- Halloween and DC only a few days before the election :D My seats are on the floor, yay! I doubt I'll be able to see, though :\

How do people acquire setlists, by the way? I wish I could get one... I'm armed with a brand new digital camera, several memory cards, and a floor-seat ticket, guys. This is going to be GREAT! :D

 And by "concert-y parts", I meant the alleyway parts, not the giant screen behind them parts. I think I'm too tired to make much sense right now, I need to take a nap before the concert tonight or I'll pass out in my seat :P

Offtopic, but LOVE the Obama pic Chelsea! It's reached a fever pitch down here in DC, I don't think people could possibly get more excited :P (And I agree that the video was a bit scattered, but the concert-y parts seemed to echo the Violet Hill video, so... )

Better than I could ever manage, Angie! Did you see any of the Halloween festivities that were mentioned in the Oxfam blog?

There were some extra background voices during the chorus, and the guitar was louder. But not radically different in any way... Still, those changes sounded good to me!

Yay, I thought it was fantastic! Although the spinning made me a little dizzy... I loved the writing in the air idea, and the butterflies of course :) Maybe they'll somehow work it into my concert tonight...

"I hear rumours of all sorts of alterations to the show. Projections on spheres, confetti, lights, video.. it should be fun to see what gets thrown in to the party." AHHHH, I'M SO EXCITED! This is going to be SO awesome, I think even better than August!! :D I can't even voice my excitement in words right now... Oh and does 8:15 sound early enough to arrive if I want to have time to settle in/buy out the merchandise table? :P

Post pictures of the gorgeous Chris
Just have to contribute regarding the back-bend on SNL... I was at the dress rehearsal, and he did one then, too, but it was even better because he jumped off the stage, slid to his knees, and THEN did a back-bend. It was probably the best/ most impressive thing I've ever seen.

Rapino (LiveNation): 'Coldplay will perform at Obama victory concert in 2009'
That concert better happen here in DC, or someone's going DOWN! :P And (obviously) I'm a pretty intense Obama supporter. I also think it's great to hear what people in other countries think, because unfortunately, it does affect them. I'm not that comfortable with the idea that the US' actions have such a large influence when our world news coverage is so woefully inadequate, but it's reality. I'm all for Chris voicing his support for Obama. Anyone should be able to express their opinions, no matter how famous they are or their nationality. It's an important and historic election, and it's very exciting- you can't help watching! I know that I can't tear myself away from the polls and the news, especially living in DC... It's all-consuming! I'll almost be sad to see it end, although it means I'll get more sleep at night :P

Coldplay on Saturday Night Live, 25th October 2008
Yeah, it was pretty funny. He was just like "is this live TV? Oh shit oh shit!", and then during the countdown for Lost! when it got down to 1 he yelled "uh oh!" into the microphone. They did tape the performances because they used them in the commercials later that night, but he just kept forgetting that it wasn't the real show...

Yeah, and I think VLV was better when I saw it in the rehearsal because Chris wasn't as nervous... I think we all know how nervous he gets on TV shows (MTV awards, anyone?). He seemed pretty scared during the rehearsal right before they started since he thought it was the real live show, which kinda proved it. Once they told him it was just a rehearsal, he seemed much more relaxed and the song sounded better. You'd think he'd be used to it by now! :P

Coldplay on Saturday Night Live, 25th October 2008
Huh, really? I thought they were great! They definitely got better towards the end, but that's to be expected. Obviously they're the most confident with Yellow, so that song was the best. Maybe it didn't translate over TV as well? 'Cause it all sounded perfect in the studio...

I'm not sure, but I definitely wasn't complaining! I thought they were only going to play two during the rehearsal, so when they started setting up for a third song I got really excited :D And regarding Chris endorsing Obama: a)Chris did NOT sneak this stuff onto the show. He wore the Obama armband during the rehearsal too, I remember noticing it although I couldn't see the writing. So if anyone was wondering about that, it didn't appear to be spur of the moment. b) No one should be that surprised, given his comment in Rolling Stone a couple of months back. c) I think it's absolutely brilliant! There's no reason why he should keep quiet on current events if he thinks they're important.

All of those SNL pictures look like that, though. I thought the ones of Jon Hamm looked weird too.

Coldplay on Saturday Night Live, 25th October 2008
I wanted to post the second I got back last night, but I didn't have internet :( I forgot to mention that right before Yellow, Chris said "that Jon Hamm sketch was brilliant"- they ended up deleting it! Poor Chris :P I didn't get to meet them, alas. The closest I got was that the elevator accidentally stopped on the 6th floor (which is the SNL backstage). All of their equipment was piled up right in front of the elevator door, and there were roadies standing all around it... I considered running out of the elevator, but I was crammed into the back corner and couldn't move. ;)

Favourite Coldplay B-side, rare songs
Mmm, probably Ladder to the Sun, Sleeping Sun, and I Ran Away. Collee- Where'd you get that version of Solid Ground??

Coldplay on Saturday Night Live, 25th October 2008
It was pretty incredible! The pictures don't actually show how close I was since my camera's so bad :veryangry2: When they first walked out I had to a) pinch myself and b) try not to cry. Part of me was very nervous that they might be a bit off, but they really sounded amazing and Chris seemed genuinely happy to be there. Oh and about Will's microphone being loud: I didn't notice it during the rehearsal, except at the end of Viva la Vida during the "ooohs", which sounded a bit off. I was like "who IS that?" :P
