  1. You're welcome Noemie. Hope you like it :D
  2. Mew. Apparently I have 15 hours of Mew stuff on media player. Fuckin' hell :o Then Coldplay, Kasabian & The Coral. :smug:
  3. Listening to the Strokes one right now, ta very much :D Musically it's pretty good stuff, but his voice kinda drones a bit, and it's making all the song sound a bit the same :(
  4. What with a new album coming out an' all, I quite fancy getting to know more of The Strokes's stuff. I think I've only heard Last Nite  and that freebie they were giving out a few weeks back. And The Kills, I'd quite like a beginner's playlist from them too. Ta very much :cheesy:
  5. I love the Beta Band  they should have their own thread on here really :nice:
  6. Oh and I made a Biffy Clyro one too, highlights from the last two albums cos like Anna said those are the most accessible (plus I'm not that big a fan of the other three, someone else could always do a playlist for those) http://open.spotify.com/user/squareonefivesix/playlist/1DWHtyIBWVSD0H8PJ80H9j Biffy - Puzzle and Only Revs era :)
  7. Ok I made a spotify playlist of The Coral just for the hell of it. It's an hour long, hope that's not too much. I tried to mix it up and put a bit of all their styles in there. Hope someone likes it  http://open.spotify.com/user/squareonefivesix/playlist/6u2HAwQLQbDLkvAXOCS6UO The Coral
  8. :wacky: dunno about shaving but he definately needs to give that beard a trim. Unless he's delibrately going for the castaway look ;) Actually back to the Q article, he mentions something about the beard making him look older, without it he looks like "a wee boy" and his wife wants a real man :laugh1: (tbh I'm not quite sure how this woman can possibly complain about anything - girl, you are Simon Neil's wife, everything else is invalid ! ;) /fangirlyness ) And there's a funny quote about the twins's hair - "I got the hair, yeah" says James "The ginger hair. Ben was quite happy about that growing up. Now he's started to lose his I think he's probably a bit pissed off"
  9. You're welcome guys. Glad you liked 'em :cheesy: Lippy Kids [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4IzxYd7rISM]YouTube - Elbow Lippy Kids (live) MEN Manc 25th March 11[/ame] Mirrorball [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oeAcSsWsMxs]YouTube - Elbow Mirrorball (live) MEN Manc 25th March 11[/ame] and not my video but this is a nice one showing Guy working the crowd before GfD [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A1FF080ITrw]YouTube - Elbow: Grounds for Divorce, Live at the MEN Arena - 25th March 2011[/ame]
  10. Photos: ^this was on the backdrop after Villagers came off stage. Each frame was actually a little animated clip, they looked stationary most of the time but then every so often Mark would brush his jacket and refold his arms or Pete would rub his beard. It was really cool. Then when the houselights went off, they each walked out of their frames like Hogwarts paintings  and on to the stage. The frames were used off and on for about half the show, then that screen dropped down and they had bigger projections with a different backdrop for the rest of it. The production was really well done I thought, clever and subtle. No Muse style over the top theatrics ;) Few more..
  11. ^wow nice :cheesy:  hahaha oh btw there's another nice Biffy feature in this month's Q. :wacky:
  12. Arcade Fire is a band I wish I liked more, but I just don't get most of it, especially the new album. I found it pretty boring. I'm not looking for suggestions cos I have all 3 of their albums and have played them, but apart from Neon Bible, I just don't get what all the fuss is about. THE CORAL :cheesy: I've heard of them. They are seriously fucking ace. I could write a list of song suggestions as long as your arm  Dreaming of You or In The Morning or Pass It On are the obvious ones, but please please listen to some of the other stuff first, those are the big hits and they are great, but they have lots of more interesting stuff believe me :) I'd recommend - Goodbye (if that riff at the beginning doesn't move you, nothing will ;)) [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dswvy6U6gJw]YouTube - The Coral - Goodbye (Live)[/ame] Something Inside Of Me [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V3brL90sp1k]YouTube - The Coral - Something Inside Of Me[/ame] or pretty much anything off Roots and Echoes, like Remember Me [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bPNdholUjxE]YouTube - The Coral - Remember Me (Live)[/ame] or Jacqueline [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S5B7jRKffI8]YouTube - the coral - jaqueline[/ame] I could do a Coral mixtape or playlist , if you'd like  Ditto
  13. Wow. Fuck. Elbow were incredible, as usual. Garvey on top form, loads of jokes and chatter and wotnot. Beautiful night :wacky: Gonna try and get the set list down before bed. Vids and pics in the morning, kids. *yawn* Anyway, setlist: Manchester 25th March The Birds Bones of You Lippy Kids Mirrorball With Love Neat Little Rows The Night Will Always Win Great Expectations Grounds For Divorce (which was fan-fuckin-tastic!!!) Tower Crane Driver Puncture Repair (just Craig and Guy down at the bottom of the ramp with a piano) Some Riot (ditto - Craig & Guy) the customary drinks round the piano - "tonight's cocktail is called 'the welcome home', it's a putrid brown colour, i'm re-naming it the Irwell, the George Irwell" it didn't taste too nice apparently (ps the Irwell is a river thru Manchester ;) ) Weather To Fly; started acoustic on the ramp, then full band on the stage Open Arms (with the Halle) Encore: Starlings Station Approach (my personal fave of the night) One Day Like This (with the Halle) Disappointed there wasn't more of the much older stuff, I would have loved to see The Stops again, but I guess it's to be expected that they'd play mostly SSK and build a rocket stuff, that's why most ppl would have been there after all. Out of the new stuff The Birds was incredible, much more powerful than on record, Open Arms was as amazing as I expected and Neat Little Rows was really rocky. Overall, a bloody good night, and Guy said Manchester had been the best crowd of the tour so far (well, he would say that really wouldn't he? lol)
  14. Well, I'll certainly be taking me camera but I can't promise *really* good pics cos our seats aren't the best, but I'll post something, absolutely! :cheesy:
  15. 2 more sleeps 'til Elllllllllllllllllllllllllllbow  Open Arms live is gonna be bootiful :D
  16. Yep, came out Monday. And it's goooooood  The Crookes lp is ok, very Smiths-like and very 50s. But out of the two I find myself listening to the Kassidy album more, it's more upbeat.
  17. Hope Street ~ Kassidy. Out today. Go download it kids, it's awesome. :smug:
  18. Hope St - Kassidy Chasing After Ghosts - The Crookes Boys Outside - Steve Mason Heroes to Zeroes - Beta Band Some Furtive Years - Ned's Atomic Dustbin - that lot should keep me busy for a bit :D
  19. Dunno yet, they've only made the pilot so far so it's not even definate that it'll be on tv at all. It should be tho, there seems to be quite a bit of interest.
  20. Watching Tom in this is gonna be hilarious. I hope it gets on tv soon. There's loads of pics knocking around tumblr today :cheesy: He looks old tho, almost haggard. Bless 'im. I suppose it's the character, but still..Tom lay off the booze for a bit, love  Walk Like A Panther
  21. That's mean (funny tho) :laugh3:
  22. Album version of Neat Little Rows > Single version of Neat Little Rows :smug:
  23. This. And this. /fanwomanly spamming :P Oh and the Kassidy album'll be out in a week. Can't wait
  24. THE CORAL Elbow Hey Rosetta! I Am Arrows Kassidy (this is pretty much all I'm listening to at the mo :smug: )
