The Atlas cover is the Hunger Games official poster. Totally made for the movie, no creative input from Coldplay :)

I have been thinking about that. I think the point is to get the item, song or movie, as soon as possible upon release date/time. Say I want to buy a movie, if I pre-order it I will be notified immediately upon release date, so I´ll be able to download it asap. If I had not pre-ordered, I might not be aware that it had been released, so I might end up finding out about it only later :) Obviously all this does not apply to Atlas, as we´d sooner forget our own birthday than its release date *LOOL*

The horror one...you did not miss much :) Also a huge fan of Jennifer Lawrence and I love the Hunger Games books, so I anticipate the movies as well.

As far as I know that is one of the official posters from Catching Fire, the movie, so they are using the exact same poster to promote the song.

Out 6th September in the rest of the world, 8th September in UK.

I just finished the whole series and loved it! A few thoughts though...

I´ve recently returned to the forum. When I left this thread was mostly about the release of the comic, but now that you confirmed I am in the right place, I will try to catch up as much as I can :) Thanks! EDIT: I am browsing through it, and it is still mostly about the release dates and when the comics have arrived. I guess I´ll start some discussion here then :)

Not sure that´s gonna be the cover art to the single. It looks more like a promotional poster? I guess we shall see. Most likely the single will only be released digitally, but I would love for Coldplay to release it in physical format as well, like a nice deluxe edition! Well I can dream :)

Is there any thread discussing the comics and the story? I could not find one. Maybe someone can point me in the right direction?

I apologize on behalf of my fellow danes LOL I can see how that can be frustrating. I personally only go to concerts of bands I really am passionate about, because of money reasons. But if I could afford it, I would definitely also just go to concerts of bands I only know one or two songs. Matter of fact I did that once, and I ended up buying the band´s album! Tours are how bands promote their music, so some people who might be vaguely interested might end up becoming huge fans by the end of the night :)

I would like to have a Coldplayer penpal and I have quite the stationery collection I have not had the chance to use much lately :/ So who´s interested? Lets get this started! :)

With most bands/artists, if you like one or two hit songs you are probably likely to like the rest of their songs as well, as most artists have a particular signature/style and you either like it or not. So if you like Smells like Teen Spirit there is a HUGE chance you´re gonna like the whole Nevermind album :) So I guess in a way one could be a fan just knowing a few songs, but in the case of Coldplay I can totally see where you´re coming from, as their style is very varied and has changed through the years, so harder to make a judgement based on two songs.

Hmm not sure it is a requirement to know all their catalogue in order to call yourself a fan? Perhaps they would not be hardcore fans, but I am sure Coldplay would anyway call them fans :)

I mentioned it as an example of a controversial album. I had no idea some people would actually embrace the idea! *cringes!!!* haha! That´s just very weirdly phrased imo. What you probably meant is divide fans of earlier material from fans of later material...right? :P Oh dear God....*shivers in horror* :) Don´t get me wrong, I love both artists, I just don´t see Coldplay playing that kind of music :)

Congratulations! That´s SO many posts! haha You ´re a super fan :) Source? I personally highly doubt it. Also Taylor Swift is unlikely to appear AGAIN on the soundtrack, having already contributed two songs in the previous instalment.

Anyone familiar with the previous Hunger Games soundtrack? I bought both Arcade Fire,Maroon 5 and Taylor Swift, so there is a wide range of music in it, however what all the songs had in common was a haunting quality to them...by the way it is an excellent soundtrack! :)

You mean will it exceed the huge divide we saw after the release of MX? hehe I actually have a feeling LP6 will be much less experimental, perhaps more low-key or more of the same vein of Viva/MX. I mean in order to get the controversy of MX, they would have to release a super jazz album or something LOL

Nah you´re not the only one :P I do like the hip-hop influences as well, however they must be contained to serve the melodic part of the song in my opinion, so I would probably never like a full-blown hip hop Coldplay song

Low-key acoustic or something a bit more up tempo? Considering the previous Hunger Games soundtrack it can go both ways, but I think it´s probably gonna be very atmospheric.
